I will add that if you are a shorter rider shortening the front end will help getting to your balance point. Same goes with chainstays. Im 5'5" so manuals and nose manuals felt unnatural. Shorter offset made it so i didnt have to huck the bike as hard to get it into balance and i am able to keep my rear tire lower. Shorter chainstay makes it so my front tire can be lower while manualing. That being said i did go from a 20.3 to a 20.5 to make up some of the wheelbase loss but the wheel base is still shorter on my new build. But anything that lets you try out different options without buying several different parts is a great option for anyone looking to dial in their set up.
What forks are you running? My height is also like 5’5 or 5’6 and just recently bought a 20.6 BSD Jonesin frame to see if it’ll do a difference with my balance point. I sized up from a 20.5 and have 25mm forks right now. But Im looking to buy either the Shadow ADj Vultus or Kink Williams forks for the adjustable settings they have to experiment haha.
My friend has the kink Williams forks and you can change from 20 to 25 offset with a spacer you put in the drop outs with a Allen key screw on the inside of the dropouts 👍🚲💨
Stuck between buying the Shadow ADJ Vultus Forks or the Kink Williams Adjustable forks. Shadow has the 22mm option and Kink has 20mm. What would y’all recommend?
um if all the offset did was change your wheelbase than why not just take half a link out of the chain? Or I guess you did say "on the front end". But it also changes your head tube angle. And so does the your tire. But man, I got super confused once when i ran a fork that i couldnt figure out. It was the length of the crown, I thought i was losing my mind. Thats another under rated dimension to dem forks
I didn't know what it meant and I been riding since 1976. Got my dream bike for Christmas of 1977, Burgundy 1977 Stroker ll, still have it and my 1988 Haro Master Frame Black/Blue/Chrome, Chrome Fork, Peregrine Super Pro 48's, and Fusion 1" Stem that I ordered in April of 1991, From Danscomp from Dan himself and called him 1st, Before I even called my mom as soon as the Ship pulled in Pier Side in Norfolk VA. Flag Ship for Desert Storm. I stun Dan and he said, you called me before calling your Mother from getting back from War. I told Dan, yeap and I wanted a Black/Blue/Chrome 88 Haro Master and he said he had 1 left, I said sold with a chrome fork Please. He gave me the total and he told me that when I send the money order, to send a copy of my Military ID Card, and told me, Welcome home and Thank You for fighting for our country. I told him you're welcome and didn't think anything of it. I hung up the pay phone and went straight to 7-Eleven and got the $486.98 money order had them make a copy of my ID, the store one was broken, went home to my apartment and got it ready to mail out for the next day. Took a shower ( now remember I'm 22 years old? & had that thought that I'm gonna build a bad ass bike one day.) then sat down and called my Mom and then my Dad. I was getting out in 6 months, so I asked Dan to ship it to my Dad's house. F/F I get back home to California and go to visit my Dad and my stepmom says, Ken there's a big box in the spare room for you. OMG my 88 and Peregrine Super Pro 48's, heck yeah. I'll never forget opening the box, there she was Black and Blue and those 48's OMG, Rad. Then there was my envelope that I mailed to Dan's 6 months ago with my writing on it and all the postal stampings and all and I was like, what? Inclose was a letter from Dan himself, Ken Thank You for your service and for defending this country and to that and also for you calling me B4 calling your Mom, & sending a copy of your Military ID,this box is on me. What?????? I opened my envelope that was opened and retaped back up and I reopened it and there was my money order that I purchased from 7-Eleven 6 months ago and the copy of my Military ID missing. OMG and I never got to Thank Him for it, and now I know that someone at Dan's will pass this on to him, cause Patrick from Flatland Fuel knows him and says that Dan is alive and well. Thank You Dan. I still have everything that you sent me, I just did a stupid thing in 1992 with it. Well that era all these new freestyle bikes were coming out all Chrome, so we removed all the Black/Blue off of mine, put it all back together and I hated it. It was so ugly all Chrome, that the next day, I stripped it all down and threw it all in a bike box that I got from world of Wheels and taped it up and the frame/fork, Peregrine's and all the parts, didn't come out of the box until November of 2023. 31 years later, I cracked it open and chrome on front rim, flawless and a little bite of bubbles on the back rim and the Frame is 2 hours south of me in the powder coat shop in Clovis CA. and yes I'm still in Good O'l Modesto. I'm hella excited to get this rolling after 31 years of it living in a box! So truth be told, I jumped over to the New School Side and I love building new school bikes. I have left the peg world and love building trail bikes and I have no love for Peg Axles on my bikes, I can't stand pegs, just hit the trails and just pedal and go. Yes I ride all my builds. My 88 will get those ugly GT pegs back on when the bike is done! But the new bikes, OMG are so Sick and I'm 5'10" tall and love the 21" TT and a 13.25 or longer Chain Stay. I really didn't know what Fork Off Set meant until the 2 of you just explained it on this video and Thank You 31 years later to Danscomp again, so for me, it'll always be 33mm off set for me. Ok off to my next build, what do I wanna build for my collection😁
Why doesn't someone make a fork with 15/20/25/28/32 adapters, 170mm shaft (for gyro) and removable brake mounts? It would've been a bestseller. All in one tool!

@Neffboy15 I have 24mm forks but I just striated trying 15mm to see how they are. I gotta get used to them first.
I wish those shadow forks came with a brake mount option....front brakes are the bee's knees....and Shadow is the coolest bmx company right now
You guys are crushing these videos💯.

Yep those are pretty new. We haven’t tried them yet ourselves but they look solid.
Welcome to the DANS COMP❤❤
I love this kind of videos , thank you Dans :)

I went from a 27 to a F25 and went with a longer reach (48 to a 53) stem to lower the steering twitch and make the bike "longer"
I use the cult sect 18mm forks I want the R15s so bad

Does danscomp ship internationally?
Yes we do! Shipping is calculated at checkout for you.
Is there anyway I can get a hold of someone about an old order? I didn’t get a refund or the product I spent $300 on?
Why did everyone stop making 35mm forks
Everyone wanted a quicker offset all around. Sort of the same reason you don’t see 74-74.5° headtubes anymore.

我是一個初心者!我會努力學習
just a gimmick you dont need angles just balls
