The Windows 10 installation and calibration of the Meihengton / MFLABEL / XP-DT108B thermal label printer isn't that bad and in this video I show you step by step how to install the driver.

Make sure you don't plug the printer in until you run the driver and it asks to be plugged in , otherwise windows will try to install it and then the driver wont find it.

For anyone having trouble with the Seagull Driver Wizard detecting the printer, I used the "Other (Parallel/Serial)" option and so far it's working just fine for me!

I couldn't connect the printer for some reason even following these steps. Went to try it on my mac and watched the mac video and saw that the download for mac included the files for windows. Downloaded that one onto PC and voila! it works!
I just received this printer from AliExpress. Cost was $59.88, took about 3-4 weeks to arrive but comes with everything. Amazon was charging $120. for identical printer.
This TH-cam was perfect to set up my Mac.

I've been putting off getting a thermal printer because they are so expensive. Then I saw your reviews and I took your advice this evening and just bought this one on Amazon.
It is my giant hope that you will have a tutorial showing how to make it compatible with my iMac by the time my order comes, and my label roll comes from FED EX, and I get this desk cleared off!

Thank you, so easy after watching your step by step tutorial!. I too was having the issue with the sample label being saved to file. You have to go into your PRINTING PROPERTIES than into PORTS, The port "FILE: Print to file" was checked, i changed it so that a USB Port was checked instead and it worked perfectly. Hope this helps! If your windows driver is not connecting to your printer use the link here www.seagullscientific.com/downloads/printer-drivers/mflabel-dt108b/. You may have the MFLABEL version. I notice there was a windows driver link for the MFLABEL DT108B and Xprinter XP-DT108B. I hope this helps some of you. Thanks Eric for the tutorial.

Hello. How is it after a year?
I’m about to buy this and I had to see if you reviewed it yet ! Thank God for your channel. You’ve helped a small businesses owner like me so much !
** to all the computers that didn’t detect your usb plug in **
If your computer doesn’t find the USB option, please click other options and go from there. When you find your printer name ( usually the one that has multiple other letters in addition to DT108 LABEL) click on it and press next.
Later on it’ll give you an option of what port. Click USB port 1001. Click next or ok. it’ll tell you that it may have already been taken.
That’s where I had the decision if I wanted to uninstall the unavailable/taken port... I did. Finalize and click close.
Then follow the rest of the video for label setting instructions. Hope this helps in any way!! I almost gave this away because I thought I absolutely couldn’t use it for my press on nail business. It’s stressful I’ve spent days- hours and a gave up a month ago. I just figured it out this morning!!
Your video helped a ton but mine was a special situation I guess. It would not find my printer and I ended up making a virtual printer through the driver set up and now it works fine. Hope that helps other.
Thanks for your most excellent video - it's definitely the calibration that is the critical issue - if the printer develops any issues after a successful install just recalibrate and away you go! :)

Thank-you so much for this video! I bought one of these printers off Amazon and the driver software they included wouldn't even open.
I'm running Windows 11, and had to do a couple of things differently than shown in the video.
If the driver wizard never "sees" your printer on the searching screen, make sure your printer is plugged in, turned on, and connected to your computer through USB. Then, on the Connect Printer screen select Other, and click next. The screen should say Specify Printer Model, and have a long list of options. Look for the printer model: "Xprinter XP-DT 108B LABEL." Click next, and it will say to select port. For me this was already filled in with USB001 under Port and the weird name of the printer under Type (for me it was 4BARCODE4B-2054F).
If you want to verify the name of your printer: Hit the Windows key, and search for Control Panel. Click on the Control Panel app. Click on Hardware and Sound. Then on Devices and Printers. There should be an Unspecified tab with a box with a blue circle named "USB Printing Support." Double click on that. A new window will pop up with two tabs. Click on the Hardware tab, and the device with the box and blue circle (listed as Software Devices under Type) should be the printer.

Hi i have followed all the steps but when i get to the point where i plug in my usb to my computer and power it on, for some odd reason my computer cant detect the printer.

Thank you for the easy and quick video! We were able to set ours up within 5 minutes and now we're printing any labels we need. The printer isn't printing particular colors, (like the B and Y from "ebay"), if you know a solution, please let me know!
Hi Luis, what do you mean colors? It only prints in black and white.
@@thecollegepicker Hey! Yes, it only prints black and white. What I mean is, when printing an image that contains certain colors, it doesn't print the parts of the image with those colors at all (in black and white)
Hmm, I've never tried printing a color image. It's only for black and white Text or images. Any thermal printer is black and white only.

Yeah it should work fine. You will have to make a custom size setting on the computer and should be good to go.

I have this printer and followed your instructions, thanks very much. It will print once or twice just like it should and then it loses it's calibration and the red light blinks after printing. What do I need to do to fix this?

I know this was a year ago. I recently bought this printer but for some reason it wouldn't calibrate. I followed your instructions but when the red light come on, that's it. It doesn't feed the papers.

Hello thecollegepicker. I hope you read this comment. Your video was very useful for me when I originally installed my printer to my PC. I got a new PC, and went to install the printer on it. I made the mistake of plugging it in and firing it up right away before going to the install wizard. Now I can't proceed with USB connection when going through the wizard. Do you know how I can fix this?

I bought this printer a few months ago. Watched your video. It was working great but now it won’t print my labels. The red light will not turn off. I got new labels. Tried calibrating. Turned it on and off. Unplugged it and nothing seems to work. Can you help please? I have over 50 shipping labels in need to print out ASAP!!
Thanks for the info. Buying one on eBay since I know I can overcome issues reviewers have left. I also have a question. I want to use eco friendly labels and the company says the printer must be on "reflective" or "black mark" not "transmissive" for it to calibrate right. Does the driver you use here have those settings? Thanks in advance for your help/answer.

My printer is doing everything seemingly correct.. EXCEPT it is not actually printing anything! There is no "ink" on the page what so ever. I have turned up the darkness to max etc. Can anyone help?
I have an issue with printing small labels also the brothers, size 3cm x 6cm. I did the calibration and he is printing the first one fine but it doesn't recognize the gaps between each label so the second label is not on the correct spot ...

There is no ink on these printers ☺️. They use heat.

The only downside is i cant print 4x8 with phone usb otg, no problem using computer, i use nokoprint app on mobile no problem print 4x6 but failed to print 4x8

Hi TCP, during the install the program didn't recognize when I plugged in the usb. So I use the CD to download the drives. Now when I click on print for sample label test it is not printing. What must I do to connect it? Thanks for you help.

Your best bet for international is pirate ship, you will get a better rate than PayPal with their simple export rate.

@@thecollegepicker I just recently found out that the problem was the shipping labels. I had different Labels then the one's you were using. The printer did print just like it is supposed to but, The text was so light that I thought it didn't print at all. I saw a diffrent video of yours were you recommend this printer and saw what labels I was supposed to get.

@@thecollegepicker The labels I bought are 4 x 6 but they are not together. They are separated. Hopefully the other labels do the trick.

Hi great video but i'm having trouble still, before i found this video i had already plugged it in and now windows is not finding it and i've tried installing it using other (Parallel/Serial ) and it did install but when i try to test printing using it , it is sending me to my file explore like i need to select a file and idk how to fix it.
So I installed the Printer but When I go into Printers and scanners, then click on the printer, then preferences of the xprinter, i see no settings options, and for paper size it only gives me like Legal, Letter size etc. I feel so frustrated Idk what to do can someone help?
