@@thelastsekret It’s not a bug, tiktok, Instagram, TH-cam shorts, all add a slight pause at the end of the video so that you know when it loops. Otherwise some people might watch an entire video twice not knowing it’s been repeated and get frustrated.
Each tone is actually a crude recreation of the first tone shifted up by some amount. At the halfway point, it’s shifted up an octave. At each third it’s shifted up an octave + a fifth. At each fourth it’s shifted up 2 octaves etc. It’d be interesting to see this with thousands of tones. It could work if you made each tone a sine wave [0,2π] with volume inversely proportional to pitch. I might try this. Edit: although it is theoretically mathematically possible to discern the pitch of a single cycle of a sine wave, it just sounds percussive. You have to use longer sine waves. This isn’t really a problem because even a half second sine wave won’t interact with the 120th harmonic in a 1 minute audio. Also, it takes forever to do this in audacity. Like, going from 50hz to 2000hz requires up to the 400th harmonic. This requires a somewhat convoluted process applied to every prime below 400, so I just gave up lul.

It may be perfect for the expression, but I think it ruins the spectrum and, to some extent, also the polyrhythm. The spectrum that arises from a hundred plucked strings is very different from a spectrum of pure decaying sines. If the amplitude decay is independent of note length, then the shorter notes will barely decay. Also, if there is a plucking delay at the start of every note, then the shortest notes will barely be played, if at all.
This is how I imagine music on Vulcan must sound like: patternistic, mathematical, logical, but also free of chaos.
