I highly recommend you check out a throttle enhancer such as the Pedal commander etc. No more pedal lag at all on my 392 and it woke it up more than I could have imagined. You dont realize how much they dummy down the throttle until you get one of these...
Beautiful 392! Kinda crazy, but I’m currently running 0-60 in 5.2s in my modified Bronco Sasquatch. Don’t think I’d run similar time with 37s. That said, you’d drop your time quite a bit if you did a boosted power brake launch.
Thanks! That Sasquatch is pretty quick! Does that have the 2.7 or 2.3? The standard 392 with 33s is supposed to do sub 5s 0-60. And I’ve tried doing a power brake launch in one of my previous videos but actually got better results just mashing the gas. I probably wasn’t doing it properly though.
@@MotoringAdventures_KE7SAIIt’s a 2.7L. Since this comment I’ve custom tuned it and now it does 0-60 in 4.3s. I also dyno’d it and it measured 400 WHP and 488 WTQ. The stock turbos are tiny, so if u want more power I need to upgrade them.
I'm looking at doing the same lift and tires on my 392 for the exact reason you are, to tow with. I have a 2021 392 XR and wanting to tow right at (or maybe even a hair over) the 3500 lbs. I do have two other rigs that are way more suited for towing, but I want to tow a trailer out, drop as a base camp, and then explore. I did consider the airbag lift kit, but its about $10K, not that I cant afford it, just don't think I need to in order to tow 3500.
Hey Preston! (Nice name btw 👍) I hear ya! It did great towing the M1102 a few months back. I had a lot of gear loaded in the jeep as well as the trailer and was impressed by how little it did actually squat. It drove and handled much better than before and, to my surprise, my fuel economy improved on that trip vs a previous one I did without the lift. I’d really like to get another travel trailer, like the Braxton Creek Free Solo in the video, and see how it does towing that now. It’s dry weight was 2800lbs but I’m sure we had it above 3000 and we also had the Jeep loaded up as well. I’m pretty sure this thing will have no problem towing slightly over the 3500lbs. But I have to say, I have no complaints with the AEV lift so far! Only thing I added to the kit was an adjustable front track. Dialed it in real nice.
I have a travel trailer that weighs in at 3200 lbs…I have a set of air bags that for the rear springs…that and a weight distribution hitch - with that setup everything is balanced - easy towing.
@@warmeds2009 That sounds like a great setup! If I towed something that heavy, more often, I might consider that. Most of my towing need is for my M1102 trailer and it probably weighs around 2000-2500 lbs loaded, and it goes on pretty moderate off road trails. I don't have experience using air bags but from what I've heard, they don't provide a lot of articulation (flex) when off-roading. So far, the AEV lift with the high capacity springs, has been great! Hardly any sag and rides really nice as well. And not too terribly expensive since I was able to install it myself.
I did. I calibrated it with the AEV ProCal Snap that came with the AEV 2.5” DualSport lift. It’s dead on with GPS at highways speeds, much like it was before the lift. th-cam.com/video/6ZSxECSD-Go/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hjNcf-HsOxLOAcb2

Thanks for the recommendation! That is a peeve of mine with the 392, the lag.
Thats what the offroad plus button is for, Completly changes the throttle reponse, shift points and the exhaust burbles.

@@fullspeedfordbronco that’s awesome! Bet it’s a blast to drive both on road and off.

Yes
Not if you add some better air flow!
Did you have the computer reset for 37. If not your speedometer was reading incorrectly until you
