Thanks man, for the time to do this. This is a song that will very probably follow me for the rest of my life. You know its been some dificcult times, and this song is some kind of reminder that all things "someday" will pass.
This song is one of my favorites and this video makes me want to learn how to play a guitare. Any tips on which modele to buy for a beginner ? Thank u in advance ❤
From a non guitar player and an avid Gregory Alan Isakov fan, I find this very interesting. Never thought about the “cowboy chords” and letting the other strings really “sing”. Very cool seeing it broken down from the source!
I have some other ones on my channel for the album and some other GAI songs if you're interested. I am also hoping there's more straight from the source like this as the one I did for this song was a little off so I'm glad we are learning from this video.
Amazing tutorial. Thank you so much for making a correct version of the song for us all to learn. It’s my favorite song of GAI. Have you written any other songs with him?
Thanks man. Most of the info that you're looking for is here on my youtube bio . I'll post another guitar tutorial one of these days that Greg and I've written together.
Thanks for putting a name to the C/G shape! I discovered that a couple years back from a GAI live recording video, and I've been using the "folk singer C" ever since without it by its name. I'm a brand new subscriber, and I'd love to hear the lyric writing process that you go through sometime!
It looks like you have a real passion for helping others and teaching guitar on line. Keep doing what you do. Seems like it brings a lot of joy to you and your community. I love it how much you like Greg’s music and sharing it with others. Cheers to you.
This is fantastic! I heard Gregory Alan Isakov play this at Edgefield in Portland a few weeks ago and when I heard it I knew I had to learn it. I can't believe I found it here from a co-writer! I'm a new subscriber to your channel and looking to take the next step in music and start writing some songs... looking forward to some dialogue on this channel on the subject. 👏👏
Thank you. I'm looking forward to talking songwriting here for sure. thanks for being interested. I'm also looking forward to hearing your cover of "One Day". have a good one. cheers to you jw
Did you work on any other songs with him? I'm trying to tab out the whole album and make lessons for them. Would love them to be accurate for the people! I'll direct my viewers to this video.
Hi! Thanks for the amazing tutorial and creating this beautiful song. One day is one of my favorite songs from the album. Question here, what’s the chord that you did at 2:15, between B7 and C chord?
Question on the song’s intro. It almost sounds like the first B7 is being played as a barre chord in the beginning. You can hear a high F ringing when it’s played in the track that you don’t quite get with the ‘normal’ B7. Not that it matters, but I’m curious because I like how the track sounds with that note really being present…though it may be my ears tricking me. Great tutorial and thank you!
I know there’s not an F in the chord for sure, because that would be a flat five which would sound crazy strange. But you might be talking about an F#. If you want to play a B major chord there as a Bar chord I’m sure that is fine. He’s not using a B7 Bar chord though. But the 2nd chord of the song is kind of hard to hear and might just be B major which would be somewhat of a Bar chord . The song was written for a B7 chord though. You should cover the song how ever you want to. Make it your own. The Bmaj and B7 both act as a Dom 3 chord which gives it the tension needed. I’ll attach a video of Greg playing it live so you can see what he’s doing with his hands. I love it that you like this song and are interested in learning it. safe travels ..cheers jw th-cam.com/video/0VP4zAvAg7c/w-d-xo.html

If you ever interview Greg, would love to hear about his recording process. Types of reverb used, etc. The guitar on his recording is always so lush
