    For anyone wondering, you can detach the lever and reattach it in a vertical position instead of angling the whole box upwards.

  • @Federation42movies
    @Federation42movies 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think I'll add a thin "gasket" between the brake and the shifter housing to protect the components from scratching. Also, I've managed to align the ebrake so that h-patter/sequential switch can controlled from both sides.

    Plan on doing this when my new rig arrives, although I'm thinking I'll find a way to space it out from the shifter a bit, or at the least a piece of felt between the two to prevent scratches. Thanks for the video!

      If you get the screws tight enough it shouldn't scratch the shifter. Mine are bit loose, but paint is cheap lol.

    I found mounting the handbrake on the right side of the shifter makes shifting into 7th gear difficult. Probably won't need 7th gear most of the time but it could be an issue when playing some games. I took out the lever and installed it backwards and then installed the handbrake on the left side of the shifter for now.

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it is in the way at times. You hardly ever use 7th for sure though. Some people do what your saying and put it on the left side. I like the right side because it crowds me being on the left side plus 1st and 2nd gear are the most used gears so didn't want it in the way with my big hands. Thanks for watching and commenting

I only have the handbrake right now and I want to mount it to the clamp that's usually used with the shifter (without the rails provided from fanatec because I don't have them) I plan on buying the shifter once it's back in stock and then I should be ok.

    Doesn't work in FORZA 😡!!
    But works in Assetto Corsa which has better FF anyway ... Should work in Dirt Rally and all the other titles too.
    Do you ever hit your thumb on the edge of the shifter going into 5th or 7th? I mounted mine between the wheel and shifter, but have nicked a knuckle a few times going to reverse too fast. Small learning curve lol.

I tried finding the dimensions of the gear box but had no luck. Basically since the transducer is about 4 inches wide I was hoping the holes would like up if I went to mount this using 2 screws diagonally like you did with the brake. Do you know how many inches it is from one sliding insert to another? Thanks!

      Hello, It would be pretty hard for you to shear the 2 bolts holding the e-brake to the shifter. You could do a shear calc on it, but just a quick calc I did of a 1x 5/16" size screw made of 304ss which is 30 ksi yield (which I think this may be what they are made of and roughly the size of the screw if I remember correctly) you would need a force of 1572 lbf and your using 2x so that 3,064 lbf. You will most likely bend the handle first from any slight side pulling when playing. Hope this helps 🤙

    Just got my Fanatec handbrake a couple of days ago and modded it onto the Wheelstandpro. One thing I noticed in your video is that the lever is lot looser and doesn't require as much force as mine to pull. Is that due to wear and tear or did you loosen the tension on the spring or use some kind of lubricant?

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I wish mine wasn't as loose as it is. Fanatec is probably using stronger springs is my guess. But yeah my e-brake has lots of pulls on it, so I'm sure the spring is a little worn in. I didn't change anything internally on it though.

    • @amstudioprojects
      @amstudioprojects 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you might be able to find softer springs in the hardware shop.

      ***** With a plank of wood and the table clamp that the TH8A shifter comes with. I cut the wood to the same size as the bottom of the Fanatec Handbrake and drilled holes into the wood in the same locations as the pre-drilled mount holes on the bottom of the handbrake.
      Separately I drilled two holes holes vertically into the back plate of the metal clamp. This allowed me to drill two extra holes in the wood which line up with the holes in the metal clamp.
      For assembly I attached the metal clamp to the wood first by using screws going from the back of the wood through to the metal clamp. I then secured them together with nuts.
      By having the screws facing through the metal clamp means I can line up and screw the other side of the wood to the Fanatec Handbrake. This bit was a little more finicky requiring a couple of the screws to be inserted in the other direction, but eventually I did it. Now that the Fanatec Handbrake is bolted to the clamp, you can clamp the handbrake anywhere you want. Since the Wheelstandpro comes with a long metal bar to normally mount a shifter beside the wheel, I clamped it to this bar. Pics below:

      ***** I don't have the mounting plate for the Fanatec V2 servo or V3 pedals either. This Wheelstandpro is made for the Thrustmaster wheels but the Fanatec V2 servo fits on without modification. See here: plus.google.com/106577240689351818801/posts/W2DLBZ4EAX6

      @AWSimDrifter 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** No problem dude, glad to be of help :) Having a full time job means I'm not in for deliveries which is why I've done DIY solutions for the mounts. I will eventually make a perma DIY solution for the V3 pedals, but actually using zip ties works better than expected. The key is to use really long zip ties (I used ones that are 295mm in length) and really thick zip ties. Though the downside is that you can only mount it really far back for it to be sturdy. I'll take some more photo's when I get home but yes, with the zip ties it's really study. No roll or anything, even when I apply the brake pedal really hard. Hopefully having an older version of the Wheelstandpro shouldn't really matter, but if I were you I'd contact the Wheelstandpro support team and see if your version is compatible with the RGS shifter addon :)

    From where did you get the 2 blocks to mount it... the black 2 on the shifter

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They came in the package as extras with my shifter. It those are called t-nuts so if you don’t have any you can order some on Amazon or ask Fanatec for some to purchase. I don’t recall the size though so you will need to measure the slots on your shifter. Hope this helps

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, I saw your question on my other vid. Now I know your shifter. So to connect the Handbrake directly to the PC you will need to get the Fanatec USB adapter or connect it directly to your Fantec wheelbase or Fanatec pedals. I saw in the other post you use Accuforce so if you use Fanatec V2 and above pedals then connect there. If not you will need to purchase the USB Adapter. Here is my affiliate link for it. Cost $19.95 goo.gl/oWRku6 Hope this helps

    @TJRSim can you find a link to the screws am having a hard time finding them online

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the screws you need to thread into the t-nut holders of the shifter are M5 x 10mm to 12mm. Here is an amazon link to them. They are inexpensive. amzn.to/2DfNKER

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and glad I could help. No, you don't need the shifter support unless you want to use it for your mounting situation. As long as you still have the SQ shifter and it's the hardware you will be fine as it contains the little slider nuts you need to attach the handbrake to it. Here is my affiliate link if you decide to get it. goo.gl/oWRku6 Appreciate it!

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh yeah. absolutely. I would suggest having your tension screw adjusted first to your liking as you will end up covering it with the ebrake.

    • @Riley180sx
      @Riley180sx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok thanks and does it work on xbox one(fh2 and fm6)?

    • @TJRSIM
      @TJRSIM  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly it doesn't work with Forza 6. This isn't a problem with the hardware but a issue with Turn 10 not adding a map button for it. It does however work with Project Cars as Slightly Mad Studios thought of this. I sure hope Turn 10 adds the feature in the future though. The ebrake when connected to the V3 brake pedal deck will work with all consoles, but only if the game developer will allow it. So hit up the game developers to show your interest. Thanks for watching!

    • @Riley180sx
      @Riley180sx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TJRSim yeah I searched on the forza forums and there's a whole thing why they don't support it and so many people have sent emails but no reply. :(

    • @TJRSIM

      +MrTacticalSloth Yeap. it sucks. Forza 6 would be even better with it enabled plus adding controls for FOV.
