Plantain is not part of Kenyans gastronomic culture. They don't know it. They are just growing it now because of West Africans living in Nairobi (UN headquarters oblige), 20 years ago they used to imported it as far as from Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo... The best place to purchase good plantain in Nairobi is shopwright (it is expensive but it is mature enough to be eaten) at city market they sell small small immature plantains... Regarding the spices, they do not use it except curry (except in the coastal region where they use spices ( seasements) ... Local spices like 4 côtés or djanssang they don't have. You will also be surprised that they do not know palm nut... It is a different place/culture.
So crazy!!! I’m eating the same biscuits with malt while watching to then I saw you show the same thing. 😂😂. Anyways I’m from Ghana 🇬🇭 and my husband is from Kenya 🇰🇪
Hahahaha , enjoy your biscuit 🥰. West African food is totally different from East African food, but I bet in your home it’s mostly Ghanaian food eaten 🫣

As a Kenyan from Manhattan,New York im really proud when I see fellow Africans visiting each other and appreciating their fellow africans.Every African country should abolish Visas to enhance free movement of africans between these borders that were created in our minds by the colonialists. My dream is Africa will unite one day
Indeed, You'll only appreciate it once you are travelled. I now appreciate our late president Moi, when he use to tell us,- Kenya is a beautiful country, let love and build it.❤
Victorine you had me cracking 😂 with mr plantain, you're such a vibe ; we do grow bananas but not as much as countries like Uganda and I imagine your country too. Maize flour for ugali is more much of our thing.
I am always wondering asking myself why all people who are doing the TH-cam challnels or videos about countries show us only nice developed cities as if life and masses of people are living in this places we want to see how are rural areas the people life style etc while their gorbements are concentating in debeloping towns and cities ignoring populatios on the farms and rurals these people need basic resources and services being enjoyed by urban citizens things such as better roads transport shops clinics schools for them to stop travelling long distances to access these facilities as a South African this are the things we always demand and fight for to our authorities to make better life for all in the country as voters
Are you blind?! You don't see the rotten roads, the waste on the streets, the old never maintenances house shops in CBC. Maybe you are right to compare to Nigeria
Plantain is not common in Kenya but bananas are plenty and are preferred to plantain. Infact some people may not know plantain. Try shopping around you will get some.
Don’t see the beautiful parts and think this is Nairobi , most parts lost Kenyans can’t access most are owned Hua foreigners so it’s nothing to be proud about plus it’s expensive
This was enjoyable and educative! Especially the way you do it. You’ve made me add Kenya to my bucket list of Countries to visit. Kenya sounds like fun 😄. Keep doing you girl ❤
