This is my "Church", where I go to renew, and have my faith renewed. Musicians here love and uplift each other and their audience through their co-supportive positive free expression and generosity. I know a lot of great players, .... but ... These folks really feed me to my core. Profound thanks and gratitude. Keep it up, please. You inspire / uplift lots of folks. Ed ... a just about retired guitar maker, currently in Texas. Thanks.
This might be THE best live show Bruce and The Noisemakers ever did.....Derryberry was at his incredible best....And the rhythm section just literally explodes through every song...I can't even put it into words...The creativity is incomprehensible.....
Bruce says: "That's not how this song goes" ...and then says ; "Does now" and then his bandmates laugh . I LOVE that. Cool X 100. Drummer and bassist: " nuts-good, and happy.
How did I write-off Mr. Hornsby in the 80's-90"s? My appreciation for Bruce and his Noisemakers is appreciating every time I watch this video and I can't stop watching.
If you want to go to a concert where the band regurgitates their albums note for note DO NOT go see Bruce. But if you go you will get to witness the creativity and artistry of musicians who create a different version of the same songs each time out. He is a chef who mixes elements of jazz and jam band stuff into his hits making them a tasty morsel each time.
If you want to go see a musician that puts his own need to be “creative” over his customers desire to hear the hits go see this guy. He cheats his band and his fans. He can only play small clubs to his most loyal followers. Mean time his band gets less pay all to satisfy the ego of Bruce Hornsby. As a loyal customer for years I’m finally cutting this guy off. We are tired of 10 minute jams.
After touring with The Dead for a year, he came back into the studio and said "I will never, ever, play a song the the same way twice. Never again"!! The list of fabulous musicians that toured with The Dead, and came back feeling the same way is mind boggling!
Love this concert...every few months I stay up all night watching Bruce and his gang...pure joy. Love watching the musicians. All having fun..I am up in Canada but have to get to the USA when things open up post pandemic to see them live! Xo
Bruce Hornsby the unsung piano hero , is one of the best kept secrets in rock music. He was quite popular solo or with his own bands - The Range , The Noise makers and played with Grateful Dead.
Sonny Emory left- he was offered the opportunity to play stadiums with Eric Clapton & a recording contract for his own group by the Japanese group he drummed for. I miss Sonny's interactions with Bruce not his drumming- Chad Wright seems quite shy whereas Sonny & Bruce used to joke around a lot.
Just the best!!! Love everything about this band and Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce!!! If you haven't seen him live... TRAVEL see him... you wont be disappointed I promise you! I've seen him at least 10 times and I'm never sad... well when the last song ends I am.. just do it!!!!
Used to be this way, now you expect to hear maybe 7 - 10 songs at 10 minutes each. Long boring jams of stuff HE wants to play, not what YOU want to hear. I walked out of the last show I went to….couldn’t take it.
Saw them a few years ago on the terrace at The Biltmore House in Asheville. Blues Travelers opened the evening. What a great evening. Going to see them in The Caverns in Tennessee. Looking forward to that show as well.
Don't be concerned Mike. I work on the guitars of some of the best of the best. ... I don't care about that. What matters most is heart and generosity. Bruce and the band are ALWAYS fun, and that heart-energy is given to any audience, all the time. WOW !!!
Some folks don't get the spirit and uplifting joy in this work / this band. I do... AND I work on guitars for luminaries. THIS is the happiness vortex/ center.
With Biden?! Boy, I wish you were right, but the changes will only come when folks stop voting within the system's 2 party corporate duopoly. Otherwise, we're all tools for the powerful, selfish, and wicked.
Merci ,monsieur et toute la bande🙏👏✌
Timeless.
Everytime changes come in my life I listen to this song, so encouraged by this song.
I had tenseness in my shoulders. After listening to this, they are gone. There you have it.
These guys love playing together. This is a joy to watch and what music is supposed to be.
So much joy and energy on stage. Best live concerts ever 🥰🥰😍
Yup I totally agree
Yeah; this is what's music IS.
Absolutely! A complete joy to watch and listen to...
I'm hypnotised, literally. 'Brickhouse' at the end, yikes! 🔥🙌🏿
Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬👊🏿🖤
Can't explain it. But a new video offering by Bruce Hornsby is not just a item on my feed.
It is a gift.

Drummer is Sonny Emory, one of the absolute best.

God blessed us with another musical and current event angel .
Wow! This song is so great, I don't even know how to classify its genre. Genius Bruce and band.
Groove jazz, I guess. Hornsby played with the Dead for a while so a bit of that jam band vibe.
One of the best songs I've ever heard, Bruce Hornby is amazing!
The studio version is great too!

Bruce Hornsby is the consummate legendary musician of his time! Superb!
Absolutely Fantastic - lots of love from Goa, India
Absolutely love Bobby’s wow bad ass funky solo over Bruce’s the way it is defacto chord changes. Love the spacing and feel of this performance.
Bobby Read, JV Collier, Sonny Emory, Doug Derryberry, John JT Thomas and Bruce
The band was so tight then!
Absolutely Brilliant!❤❤❤

Wonderful!
hand made music! , Bruce is a Piano genius, and terrific noisemakers performance... thanks for all.
If Aaron Copland and Bob Dylan had a kid, and then Randy Newman adopted that kid, that kid would grow up to be Bruce Hornsby.
Now why would you leave Uncle Jerry (Garcia) out?
cool song 👍
