It was wonderful but then you did it over and over and over in about the 9th time you circled the car I was getting dizzy. Otherwise, it clearly look like effort was put into this review and it was one of the best I've seen in years.

Micah makes a great point at 5:01. One thing that has always amused me to say the least about German luxury brands, is how they nickel and dime you for things that should be basic features for a luxury vehicle . I’ll never forget my shock a few years ago when I discovered that rear a/c controls were an option on a Mercedes GL/GLS. Wow. Mind you this is a standard feature on Expedition and Tahoe.
@Daniel Hernandez Premium isn't that pricey, that's the only thing i put for my car and it has helped with keeping the engine at optimal performance. Now i'm at 70k miles and still putting Premium.
I always used to look down on Mercedes and thought people who buy the entry class vehicles did as a fashion statement. I switched from a Infiniti into a Mercedes and then attention to detail and safety and quality of everything and just the enginerring and desgine is paramount. I don't think I would call my Mercedes A Fast car or super handling sports car. But a Well built quality vehicle that I found to be very reliable safe offering a comfort luxury with adequate performance and handling. I don't think it excels in one thing but it's an all around well built car.
The Germans sure love a laundry list of expensive options... Micah nailed it with the comment for some of the active safety features not being standard. Never miss the chance to tack something on as an option. I know someone who forgot to check the box in a build that included the backup camera, but the sensors were an overlooked add on. It wouldn’t be luxury if it wasn’t expensive and exclusive. There may be some who price is a non factor and they want to just load it up and show their “luxury” bravado I’m not one of them. It’s refreshing to see companies like Tesla who don’t have a multitude of options and keep things simple.
Beautiful vehicle don’t get me wrong. However I feel that luxury auto makers are starting to realize that the non luxury brands are actually becoming... well... luxurious. They are offering standard features right out the door that have to be included in some $1500.00 optional package on a vehicle already starting north of 60 grand. Therefore they turn to gimmicks, such and the oversized gauge and infotainment screens, the air hydraulic system, built in air fresheners etc. Not just knocking Mercedes, BMW has turned to the same gimmicks with their gesture controls and the huge digital key fob that does the same thing as a BMW app on your phone. I would recommend to any smart shopper to first check out a loaded Kia Telluride, GMC Yukon Denali or Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. From there maybe the Cadillac XT5 or XT6. For my money I’d slip the difference and go with a decently equipped Lincoln Aviator.
The German luxury brands are all somewhat guilty. Audi which is slightly lower in the food chain than BMW and MB tends to include more, while Porsche is the worst
The GLE 450 is spot on. Did he mention that it has Warp Drive meaning Sport selection. The GLE AMG 450 has Trans Warp drive if you want to actually fly down the freeway. You can't beat the quality.
Vijayanand Phad it’s another package for the active distance distantronic and adaptive cruise control, for LIKE 2.5 GRAND AS IF THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH OPTIONS
Micah. Excellent review. If you d rather express your luxurious in your house; there are cheaper options.. Ha! Or the Tall Brit Relentlessly asking for his money.. Double Ha. If your ever Buy a GLE ; any mercedes for that matter make sure you owe no one money... They ll be relentless imagining you swim in money Even if its the cheaper 350... Its a lesson i learnt when my best friend bought his Merc; I magically remembered that $ 200 from 1995...
That’s the German luxury angle they all do it to a degree MB, Audi, BMW and Porsche if it’s expensive it’s luxurious. The buyer’s of these want to feel like they’re fully customizing their vehicle, Porsche lets you detail stitching and very minute details all for a price premium.
They should sell a MB Star logo like the bat signal so at night you can announce your singular presence to everyone around as you project the logo to the heavens.
Lightning Farron oh I can pay for it in cash if I wanted too that’s not the issue. I just isn’t worth it. Tell me it doesn’t look like an Acura MDX from the rear.
Rear seats don’t recline it’s slide back .. big lose .. Cheaper brand mid size SUV’s had this feature. Even hyundai ... rear seats recline all the way back ..it’s so comfortable
I like KBB videos and I have a car, but i fear we will look back on gushing luxury SUV videos like this someday as an example of how the climate ended up ruined.
Can someone please explain to me why luxury brands insist on using some device like a touch pad or rotary knob to control the screen instead of just touching the screen? I’d rather have another storage space or cup holder in place of these things.
I went on Mercedes' website... and went with the AMG43 edition... still pricey at $75k when I customized it. Loaded like Micah's $84k... it's gotta be near $93k+.
How can the Burmester system be so good if its so damn cheap? The B&O system on the XC90 is far more expensive. Is it really a bargain or do you get what you pay for here?
Wow, was there anything really bad about this car? Other than the steep price as-tested and the brutal depreciation that MBZs suffer? Makes me almost interested in buying one...
absolutely, THE MOST PERFECTLY SUV ever built. Not a single negative feature mentioned in this video! Glad I can check consumer reports to get another opinion.
Luxury is a badge and having a vehicle so expensive and exclusive you don’t see everyone driving it. The customers who buy this want everyone around to know they’re special.
We just got our 2020 GLE and love it. Love it in blue with white seats. So much customization and technology. Mercedes has the best quality. Love the design as well and those handles. Reminds me of the Porsche Cayanne since they also have similar handle design.
It looks nice. The second row seats are a bit disappointing, and the wheels look tame for being "AMG". The lack of standarr magic cruise and lane keeping is odd as well.
Beautiful interior, but just trying to get over the “egg” shaped rear half of the exterior. Guess I just prefer the more upright look of the XC90, X5 and Aviator

The seat is literally under the wheel. I am curious to know what metrics you use in evaluating and scoring SUVs. I went to buy a Mercedes GLE and discovered I could not even into into the driver's seat. It's very small and cramped. I even tried the larger GLS and could not fit in either. The legroom for their SUVs is 40 inches, some even 39 inches. This is ridiculous for an SUV and cannot understand why they are ranked #1 in almost all categories..
