If someone talked to you like that would you be all calm about it just because she had on “a black robe”. I’m the most calm and patient person too and I would’ve probably had an attitude as well. I’m sorry I usually agree with the judge based on her verdicts and sometimes when she goes off on people I also agree but she was acting like her day was f’d up from the jump. 12:58 This crap I don't understand? I always refer back to the case where a limousine driver showed up late to take a couple to a ferry so they can attend the wedding reception. Outside of the Bride setting everything up not giving enough time to take into account any mishap before the ferry departed. The limousine company refund all their money and tried to make things right with the couple, owning up to everything! The Bride decided to sue for 5K for emotional distress for ruining their wedding reception. The Judge awarded 5K for emotional distress and breach of contract! I was like WTF! The company screwed up and tried to make things right. It wasn't a malicious act and they owned up to it. But for someone calling CPS on you to get back at you doesn't warrant or reach the level of emotional distress and harassment in her book? I wish could meet her in person and ask, why?

I think in this case, the judge wasn't able to get down to the facts of what happened. The whole explanation of my daughter convinced me was kind of sketchy. So yes the defendant is out of line but who's to say the plaintiff also isn't antagonistic to a degree but just knows how to comport herself in a courtroom.

    • @rosej5029

@@christianfernandez91 I was thinking the same thing. The plaintiff looks like the stereotypical "quiet, causes no trouble with anybody" in front of authority figures but behind closed doors she raises hell

In the limo case, you're talking about a couple who pays a premium (wedding services pay extra just when the word wedding is used for premium service) for a once in a lifetime (hopefully) event. They were cut hours short for their event and the other things they paid for weren't up to the standard they paid for due to them being late... Because of the limo company.
I do agree though that a harassment settlement was absolutely needed in this case, but the plaintiff needed to keep better records of it. Dates CPS showed up, any inconveniences due to that, anytime the defendant was loud and unruly, and so on. Just the defendant's attitude in court should have proven how hard it is to live around her.

She does it and its not okay. She puts people down and that's not okay. If she keeps it up, she may want to consider a security detail. Most people aren't okay with being denigrated on national television.

Actually, I'm surprised Judge Milian yelled at her. She is usually respectful. I'm not giving her excuses, but I guess she was in a mood. The meanest Judge on TV is still Judge Judy. She always have an attitude and yells all the time. She is always snotty to people whether they're polite or not. If she catches someone in a lie, she gets really pissed. She doesn't care what others think. I guess that's why people love Judge Judy. I still watch her lol.

A judge sets the tone in the courtroom. Milian makes a practice of mishandling and berating/yelling right out of the gate. These are adults. Your degree and position do not give you the right to disrespect litigants just as my teaching degree doesn’t justify me mishandling students. Do better, Judge, and better will be reciprocated. I applaud the defendant for demanding she be dealt with, with dignity.
