    I love watching these kinds of videos. I just love baseball so much. Unfortunately, when I watch such videos I get extremely jealous. I'm 45 years old now and it is astonishing what is available now for young ballplayers. It seems like there are baseball practice facilities in every city for 24/7 workouts. Not just that, but 99% of them are run by former D-1 players or former Pros. The equipment makes me salivate...especially because of the diversity of everything. Obviously, I grew up without the internet. My area didn't have a Dick's Sporting Goods type of store until around the mid-late 90s; My college baseball career was cut short due to injury and then a few big stores popped up around me.
    It seems to me like every kid plays on a "traveling team" nowadays. If I had a 12 or 13-year-old son who was an above-average to way above-average ballplayer, I would imagine the expense of each season to be quite large. Who doesn't want the best for their kids, especially if they are showing a massive interest in the sport and has skills that really impress these guys who run these training facilities? Sadly, I never had kids. But, it's really awesome to go watch some of these games and see 12 & 13-year-olds who have much better skills than your average High School Varsity squad.
    If any parents reading this have a very skilled younger ballplayer who travels a lot, could you give me a rundown of how much one season costs you?

    If I am left handed for this would I have the position backwards from right handed??

    • @Jputt33
      @Jputt33 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, instead of right-left-field, right-left-throw....it would be the inverse: Left-right-field, left-right-throw. Does that make sense? I am happy to elaborate a bit more if need be....

    Good stuff. One of the biggest issues I have with kids is they flip their glove down while fielding a ground ball and it leads to errors. This should work wonders.

    • @JesseKnoll
      @JesseKnoll 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +carbajal8283 Totaly Agree. The tip - have them point their thumbs up - then transition the glove hand OUT - up to out - is a great verbal key. Lots of kids flipping their gloves at the last minute, and wonder why they don't catch the ball clean. Thanks for the video.

    Great drill. I can't wait to force my son to do this drill so he can follow in my footsteps and yell at him violently everytime he fails. He's ass and I'm gonna change with physical harm and "motivation."

    That's condescending "If you like to make errors..." Lol. Who enjoys making errors?

    • @CatalystSports
      @CatalystSports  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody should enjoy it of course! Not trying to be condescending just recognizing how most people dislike their results but won't put in the time or dedication to figure why their making them and how to fix it! The same actions lead to the same results - that's where we hope to make a difference.

      I know of coaches in our area that will pepper kids with ground balls until they decide they are born soccer players rather than teach them proper technique. They go on to become lawyers and politicians. Don't let that happen to your kids. Teach them the proper technique.
