Make sure that the wood that you smash the apple is not an evergreen type of wood( because the sap). Also if you decide to clean and seal the wood that comes in contact with the apple juice , linseed will be a good choice. Good luck.
@@Nelferch if you are going to use linseed oil make sure you get the food safe stuff, it's 100% natural. whereas most boiled linseed oil on the market today is partially synthetic which is usually toxic...
@@Vandal_Savage In germany I can still buying Linseed cold pressed direct from the farmer who growing the Flax. Its from the first pressing. I use it to paint wood.

My grandfather waxed his wood, rather than oiling it. It doesn't go rancid that way.
