Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about the new Push Pull tool in the comments below! :)

Seems like a big user friendly feature for Rhino, I’ve always considered Rhino as a reserve software for more intensive or sophisticated modeling, and Sketchup for simpler and faster stuff. Videos like this make me wanna get back into Rhino

Agree - honestly this is probably where Rhino sits in my software "stack" as well, but this is a great addition that I think makes it a lot easier

This is mega 😮 I've been using both rhino and sketch up and this makes rhino waaay more playable. Also as a joiner makes it more accessible to create complex joints 🎉

Definitely makes it more accessible in my opinion

I am considering switching to Rhino from sketchup as an architect. I feel its perfect blend between sketchup and autocad.

Nice presentation. Very clear explanation. Thank you. Actually parametric softwares like solidworks have these functions for around 25 years. Rhino is presenting it in now very proudly. Anyway hope it works smoothly in complicated and organic forms.

Nice video. In the video, you are pushing the window and door through, by snapping. Note that in that case you can push farther, no need to snap. Secondly. When pushing the part at around 5 minutes into the video, where you change the direction, what you could do there is push it in a little, then run Pushpull again and this time switch Mode to Extend and push it until it automatically stops at the edge.

Great Video! That command alone is worth the update. Especially the Auto Cplane and snapping to an object.. No more using "setpt" to drag my objects to a surface.

This looks fantastic! I prefer Sketchup to Rhino in early design because of how fast and effectively simple objects can be modelled in Sketchup, but this tool will be worth trying.

Same - I think it's a bit more intuitive for that simple stuff. Once you get into complex and curving shapes it's a different story

Question, why does my grid plane jump to other levels, or ...how do I lock it in one plane or position?

If you are an architect, forget about Blender, it is a program for patient madmen and crazy suicide bombers who do not have a wife or children and have a lot of time - ...... for professional architects and constructors - only Rhino 8!

    • @avryptickle

@@TheRhinoEssentialsyou can push/pull radiused surfaces and there’s more specific control of the direction of the push/pull. Maybe I just haven’t realized I had that control in SU, in which case I’m angry at myself for all the time wasted.

now Rhino 8 is better than Blender for modeling. I really like Rhino. Blender is only better in rendering.
