Great video as usual guys!! I have lived vicariously through each of the flyway collectives respective channels this season. My worst season to date by far. I believe I tallied a total of 15 birds this season. Absolutely horrendous. But it's not all about the tally. Had several folks take their first birds period or first of a species with me this year. Looking forward to more from you all in the future. Additionally, Georgie is one special pup!! She's doing fantastic!
15, I seemingly could only dream of a season like that. I got one wood duck last year and the year before 4 wood ducks 2 buffleheads and one blue-wing. Been since 2017 that I've even came close to a limit one one day that year. Southeast Wisconsin is getting terrible for ducks as the flyways are changing more to the east and west but we keep plugging away. Hope your season goes spectacular this year. With how dry and/or weed clogged it is around here I am not even holding out much hope for a crappy season. Might have to rent or borrow a big boat and get out on Lake Michigan to get any ducks.
I forgot to mention the trip back to the truck. Oh boy, I bet that was extra special slogging back dragging the gear. Great hunt guys, good old fashioned effort and guts, I love it.
We couldn’t get the gear back to the truck. It was just too muddy abs heavy. We had to leave it and come back in the morning when it was all frozen again. I made a video of the next morning that will be posted this evening on patreon.com/freelanceduckhunting
Love me some GEORGIE, love her want to. Her sprint across the ice tells the story; she is all-in on those birds dead or alive!. Great hunt, though the groups’ shooting left a little to be desired. Nice going 👍
Boy that was some long hauls for Georgie. That's why it's hard doing those long walk on frozen ground and then it thaws and if you have a bad knee or hip makes it even harder.
Cracking end to the season your dog as come on so well this years she is a credit to you sir have a great summer hope to see more from you all next season 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Elliot my two thoughts on water swatting take it for what it's worth but you work so hard to get the ducks in and if you full enough to put their butts on the water and your spread long as it's illegal safe shot I don't see a problem with it it's more ethical than sky busting and you got guys that put five 600 dozen decoys out just to shoot and passing birds that they wound don't necessarily have to be on the fly to be ethical
Had a little yellow lab that was maybe ten months old when my brother and I drop a snow goose in a borrow pit with ultra clear water. That pup could see this goose when it would dive and she eventually submerged then went deeper and grabbed that bird. I had not witnessed it before or since until today quite impressive Georgie.
Man Georgies diving retrieves reminds me of a dog we used to have that would dive under for rocks we would throw sometimes down to 5 or 6 feet. Dog could not retrieve a duck if it had to but boy could it swim and dive.
You guys paid the admission price for that hunt, many times over. Drag your gear over frozen mud and ice, then get setup. By then your long since all sweaty and get to sit and freeze on the edge of the ice. Must of been 10 yards from the water, another 10-15 to outer edge of decoys. So birds that short stop are 30-35 and your freezing in the wind…Yeah, ya did a hell of a great job. That’s one way to eliminate weekend warriors for sure. Need to play that song for the dog, Hey there George Girl.. great dog, I need to get one. Guys shot great under these conditions as well, not easy.
"Georgie is a good little dog isnt she" 30 seconds later....... "Georgie SHUT UP" hahahahaha. SHe is an awesome dog. Wish i was patient enough to train a good dog
Have someone backing you up on those follow up shots instead of trying to get it on camera. Someone needs to be backing the main shooter up. Too many Crips and long retrieves ! Amazing job Georgie ! She deserves a steak
Whys that guy blowing a speck call at honkers?? And i never understood not wanting to shoot a bird on the water that you tricked into landing in the spread. I understand it’s not “sporting” but isn’t that the point is to trick them into thinking the decoys are real and them wanting to land
I sure hope the owner but gee a great big fat juicy steak for all the work she had to do because of some poor decisions on shooting a dog worked her butt off she even dove completely underwater she deserves a big treat
It always leaves a sad depressing feeling inside of u on the last day of duck season, especially if the season hasnt been the greatest due to lack of birds but the fellowship of friends is always the uplifter. Then theres always the nagging bitchy women like in this vid that have to throw tit fits cause a man is out living his passion that comes around once a yr. Cant stand it when women do that crap. But thanks for sharing all your videos man. Season was good to u this yr.
Please do not put the final kills in the thumbnail. It ruins the adventure that you take your viewers on. It’s like reading the last page of the book before you even start the first page. Make us feel like we have no idea if your going to kill a limit or not see a thing. It makes the viewing experience more fun!
Well I try to avoid the TH-camr duck hunting videos. Gump's on display for lack of better words I say Gump's instead of white trash as I try to be polite. It's not easy to do particularly watching there kind bleat and cheer there Dogs on as they chase terrorized crippled Waterfowl around. Particularly the youtubbers Duck hunters who very much believe "They have God on there side" type thing. One might say there is nothing bed enough that could happen to your kind...
@Freelance Duck Hunting aside from the head ...all vitals are umder water. The mallard...which clearly was pushing range limits ...seems to demonstrate the problem with water swatting .
Having the head exposed is all you need. The problem with the shot you referenced wasn’t the fact it was on the water. It was too far of a shot. That was the problem
Georgie never fails to impress!
She's a beast
That Georgie is a baaaad dog! Great retrieves. Especially the submarine mallard.

Love that Georgie!! Sweet retrieve on that honker cripple. EDIT: Then on that mallard!! Such sweet footage of a gifted pup!

Bonny says "Nebraska chicks ROCK!" Great job Georgie, nice hunt guys. In western Neb right now for the closing weekend for goose.
I forgot to mention the trip back to the truck. Oh boy, I bet that was extra special slogging back dragging the gear. Great hunt guys, good old fashioned effort and guts, I love it.

Love me some GEORGIE, love her want to. Her sprint across the ice tells the story; she is all-in on those birds dead or alive!. Great hunt, though the groups’ shooting left a little to be desired. Nice going 👍
That dog is solid sir!!

Good video. Great season guys.
There is “no quit” in Georgie! A great retreiver.
Yep, Favorite TH-cam hunting dog. Well done G!
Mine too :)
Boy that was some long hauls for Georgie. That's why it's hard doing those long walk on frozen ground and then it thaws and if you have a bad knee or hip makes it even harder.
Dog did insane gotta move your decoys further to the left into the wind birds tend to stay 10-15 yards behind decoys if windy
Cracking end to the season your dog as come on so well this years she is a credit to you sir have a great summer hope to see more from you all next season 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Georgie with the epic retrieve. So Cool
Awesome hunt, not many would have stuck with it till the end in that situation. Georgie killed it as well 👍🏻
what a dog!!! I was on the edge of my seat for her.
Thanks Dan!

Yeah, I agree. It’s just so much more fun to shoot them on the wing
What blind are y’all using on this hunt?
HTR Aframe
Great video and really a nice way to end up the duck season. Georgie is such a force of nature. 👍👍
Awesome dog work!
Where is it, why are there so many birds ... I really like and enjoy your hunt, your interpretation is really great for me
Awesome dog. You did a great job with her
Thanks 👍

I'll echo several others: Georgie is a heck of a dog.
Awesome dog great hunt

Why you still shooting them geese if they are adding weight....LOL!!! I would be doing the same thing, can't get enough of it!!!
Why don't you take ur Georgie and hunt with Chris jobman up at flatlander kennels in Nebraska
We’ve talked about that possibility. But it hasn’t happened yet.
Who is she out of? Stud?
“Flash” from Flatlander Kennels in Nebraska

I should hunt with you some time

There were specs flying too. Agree about the water swat but it’s just not as fun
How is omar of joje .I love hear

Not the best shooting... LOL

Quit water swatting
You have no logical reason for your anti swatting agenda
