    Always good to see local angling vids. Well presented,
    informative and enjoyable.
    Many Thanks

      Thanks for the comment 👍 I actually remember being a teenager and searching for local fishing content and could never find any.. Never would have thought it would end up being me doing it! 😂

    Be good to see a fish tackle/rod/kit vid, see what you use, not many sib/boat/fishing channels show much on what rods/tackle/setup they use. Your an easy guy to watch, great personality, great channel, I think it would do well 👍🏻

      Thanks mate much appreciated! Trying my best 😁 Yes I will actually get around to doing that showing off my rods/reels/line and I'll do a walk around of the boat & trailer and how a launch etc.. Thanks for the comment 👍

      @@hagey100 Yes definitely do.. That corner of the Coast and around Garron Point is good this time of year. Both throw up good fish off the bottom but just make sure and set up with a long distance between Your weight and hook as it can be snaggy unfortunately that's where the fish are 😄
      Good luck! Thanks for the comment 👍

      No Any other handy wee spots to fish of the rocks around the same area mate,?

    • @Barbedhookfishing
      @Barbedhookfishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@marketmade Garron Point is good, but it can be rough ground so losing tackle will happen if bottom fishing. I'm not sure of any other spots along that area sorry. Further on round you have Red Bay, you've the Pier where a skate close to 100yrs old was caught a fortnight ago itnwas massive!! There's rocks to fish from there also. Waterfoot beach is very poor and the Pier is under construction atm.

    Lure on a float something I’ve never done always use lug or rag live on the float what’s the rag lure you use?

      @@FDGRebel Artificial ragworm is great, I've used it as years on and off and it always seems to work. I think it got it off Amazon 👌 Its handy if you go out on a last minute trip and can't get the real thing. You can also douse the worms in oil 👌

    Were you trying to originally fish up near Carnlough? Because there was a fishing club that took over most of the real estate in the Bay

    • @Barbedhookfishing
      @Barbedhookfishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Original spot was Garron Point but there was half a dozen folk there so no chance of wetting a line!
      Fishing at Carnlough can be good at night in the summer month's on a full tide at the white railings, seen a lovely seatrout caught there in the past aswel.

      In front of the police station at Glenarm can be good at night. A good mix of fish and easy access.

      @@shankill178 correct! Fished it till the cows came home as a kid and early teen, Biggest fish I ever landed was a plaice the size of a bin lid! Plenty of small cod around in those days and loads of pollock, rockling and doggies. Havnt fished it in years but I'm going to do a video on it some evening 👌

    I've not used mono line in years, howcome you're not using braid? Just cause mono is cheaper or ??

    • @Barbedhookfishing
      @Barbedhookfishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kodiwtf I have Braid on I think 5 maybe 6 different reels that I use for either Spinning and Jigging at sea, Freshwater lure fishing for Pike & Deadbaiting, then I have that single reel filled with Mono for my beachcasting purely because you can fish a lead gripper better as the line stretches and it helps to dig it in. Braid is that tight with no stretch it can pull the prongs straight out of the sand when you put tension on it.

      @@Barbedhookfishing Ah okay gotcha, i've never sea fished myself so I was unsure. Curious by the way what would be the lightest rod you'd use for trying to catch multi species at sea ??

    • @Barbedhookfishing
      @Barbedhookfishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@kodiwtf Multi-Species fishing from the rocks I'd probably recommend a pier rod. Which is long enough to set up a float rig, strong enough to hold lead weight to around 3oz to cast and fish the bottom. I used the beach caster in this video as my pier rod is missing an eye and it hasn't been fixed yet 😄 I prefer to use light gear In all of my fishing adventures to be honest as I enjoy playing the fish and the feel. Again it all depends on what I'm after and if I'm on the boat or on the shore.

    • @Barbedhookfishing
      @Barbedhookfishing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kodiwtf Majority of times at sea I'll be using a spinning rod around 7/8ft with a casting weight up to 40g even though I chuck lures that are abit heavier than that!
