@@from_hell__ FYI Indonesia has Detachment 88 and they are ruthless when come to handling extremist. Yes we are living in the midst of two high risk countries with radical elements. So I picked up some pebbles for him that were the size of date stones or fingertips, and when I placed them in his hand he said: "Like these. *And beware of going to extremes in religious matters, for those who came before you were destroyed because of going to extremes in religious matters."*

Killing an innocent person is strictly forbidden and prohibited in Islam. It is among the major sins. The verses of the Qur-an and Hadith are clear and obvious in expressing this. Committing such a horrendous act makes a person worthy of severe punishments in the hereafter. This not only instills fear in the hearts of the people but also causes disunity among one another. We are ordered to be peaceful and treat people with kindness, love and modesty. Allah ﷻ mentions very severe punishments for a person who commits this act in Surah Al-Furqaan, Ayah 68:
“وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًا يُضَٰعَفْ لَهُ ٱلْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَيَخْلُدْ فِيهِۦ مُهَانًا”
(Translation: And those who invoke not any other god along with Allah, nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace.)
Allah ﷻ makes mention in Surah Al-Maaidah, Ayah 32, the importance and value of each and every innocent human being. By killing one person it’s as if you have killed the whole of humanity and by letting one person live you have let the whole of humanity live.
“كتبنا على بني إسرائيل أنه من قتل نفساً بغير نفس أو فساد في الأرض فكأنما قتل الناس جميعاً ومن أحياها فكأنما أحيا الناس جميعاً”
(Translation: Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind)
The Prophet ﷺ mentions in a clear Hadith,
” أكْبَرُ الكَبَائِرِ: الإِشْرَاكُ بِاللَّهِ، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ، وَعُقُوقُ الوَالِدَيْنِ، وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ، - أَوْ قَالَ: وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّورِ”
(Translation: the greatest of sins are: associating partners with Allah, killing an innocent soul, disobeying the parents and to lie/give a false testimony.)
These verses from the Qur-an and Hadith are clear and transparent in expressing the severity of killing an innocent person. To oppose these Ayaat and Ahadith is a clear misinterpretation and misunderstanding of the Qur-an and Hadith.

Quran:
"O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] business by mutual consent. *And do not kill yourselves [or one another]* . Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful."
~ Surah 4 An-Nisa, The Women | Verse 29
Hadiths:
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, " *Whoever purposely throws himself from a mountain and kills himself, will be in the (Hell) Fire falling down into it and abiding therein perpetually forever; and whoever drinks poison and kills himself with it, he will be carrying his poison in his hand and drinking it in the (Hell) Fire wherein he will abide eternally forever; and whoever kills himself with an iron weapon, will be carrying that weapon in his hand and stabbing his `Abdomen with it in the (Hell) Fire wherein he will abide eternally forever* ."
[ Sunnah Hadith reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 5778 In-book reference : Book 76, Hadith 90 ]
