only watching the start since I am playing myself, and I feel like I've been playing so wrongly already. As in like, I never stop moving, don't backtrack ever, and die constantly because of that.
if you're going for ranks, pay attention to the small meter next to your power bar, when it's full and turns pink you have the full combo the game expects from you on that stage to get all the rank points from it, so at that point you're safe to double back on yourself for safety. the impact item is also super useful because using it does not break your chain and the tiles it paints count for the chain. if you're playing in a scored mode like endless and going for points though, going for the longest chains is a good idea because the 80pt/tile while your power is full is really worth it. but yeah if you're just going through story mode for now i would say play it safe and focus on clearing the stage. this game gets hard but it's been really satisfying to learn to be better at for me and i hope it'll be fun for you too

There are other routes that score more points but 360,000 is what the game asks of you for the top bracket and thus the achievement
