Bee Science - excellent demonstration of "the elastic properties of various wax substrates". See how scientific that sounds? If you said "Kamon breaks wax", it wouldn't be nearly as educational.

I'm using the same wax from Aztec as well. I mix it 50/50 paraffin/micro crystalline and so far it has worked well in the hot summer heat. I have found that after I dip each piece for 15 minutes @ about 240-270 I remove it and allow a few seconds for the wood to absorb the wax into the wood and then immediately give each piece a quick 2nd dunk in the hot wax for a few seconds to get a better 2nd coating of wax on the wood which eventually absorbs back into the wood providing better water resistance & overall protection over time. Cooking the wood for 15 minutes & removing works good too but you can hardly tell it has been wax dipped once it cools off. Be really careful where you store your wax in those boxes because ants just LOVE that wax! Ask me how I know? 🙄

I recently stumbled upon a product called ECO Wood Treatment. One of the big bee suppliers actually carries it. It comes in a powder and it’s mixed with water. You simply immerse each of the four sides of a box into the solution and allow it to dry for 1-2 days. The manufacturer says it protects wood for many many years. Reconstituted solution lasts for a year if stored in a clean plastic container. It is completely nontoxic.

Why dont you dip in bees wax? That is what I thought you were dipping in when I watched your vedio on wax dipping.
Do you not generate enough bees was,is bees wax more valuables to sell, is the bees wax not compatible for dipping.

For me, wax from the girls is too valuable for other purposes to use for large scale hive body dipping. You also need to add resin to the melted wax for the same reason as using the mix of paraffin. I'd rather use beeswax for other products or to paint a layer on empty foundation.
