Believe it or not American film Institute top 100 comedies does not have the first or second naked gun on the list absolutely ridiculous everybody I know ranks these in the top five
I remember him in the Harry Potter movies I’ve seen him in one movie called Venus. In real life, he was very friendly to Daniel Radcliffe who was Harry. He gave him acting tips and encouraged him to continue acting. He was a friend until his passing
as good as this sequel is: The 3rd naked Gun is so underrated (It came out at a strange time when the entire Parody film boom was on life support (It’s actually as good as the original because it changed up the formula it’s somewhat fresh (i can’t praise the 3rd sequel enough) it deserves a second chance
...or probably because of something that made major headlines the same year this movie came out. Say... oh, I dunno, an incident involving the actor that played Nordberg, perhaps?
The original "Naked Gun" is my favorite, but my favorite gag is Lloyd Bochner running around with a big book screaming "It's a cookbook! It's a cookbook!" which is reference to the iconic twist ending of the "To Serve Man" episode of "The Twilight Zone," and I love the original "Twilight Zone."
After watching Elvis biopic, I'm seeing the Naked Gun trilogy in a whole different way. The nerve they had, putting the "Elvis found to be buying condo in Aspen" article with his wife/widow in the movie :D Oh, and boinking while "Unchained Melody", Elvis' farewell song, was playing in the background :D
the only idea of fixing this huge mess just by unplugging the bomb is pure genius because is so simple and so silly that no one would ever think of it. man I love Leslie, he will always be in my heart and in my childhood memories!
The joke with Zsa Zsa Gabore slapping the police light at the end of the opening credits is a reference to her actually getting into an altercation with a Beverly Hills police officer in 1989, where she slapped him.
It was Zsa Zsa, it was the same time she was arrested for slapping a cop. Also her sister Eva is in Green Acres; she's the actress, Zsa Zsa was just a celebrity.
Zsa Zsa was also an actress in many films (not just cameos), TV shows, and in theater. She won a Golden Globe in 1958 for "Most Glamorous Actress." She played Jane Avril in the 1952 "Moulin Rouge," the Toulouse-Lautrec bio-pic directed by John Huston. She has nearly the same amount of acting credits on IMDB as Eva: 81 to Eva's 83.
Eva Gabor starred in Green Acres. Zsa Zsa is her sister. About the time the film was released Zsa Zsa was famous for slapping an L.A. cop in a traffic stop.
At the bomb site ( about 9 min into this video ) the crime scene people had drawn chalk outlines of victim's body parts that hit the wall; it's easy to overlook while George Kennedy is looking through the sensual sketches of Priscilla.
I think the funniest parts of the combination of the writer's, cast and overall crew members of airplanes, naked gun and these comedies are them trying having to keep a straight face...I would love to see bloopers and behind sense of how many takes of them breaking charters 😂
One of my all time favorite comedy franchises Leslie Nielsen was just key in this role and to think he started out as a very well known dramatic actor before becoming a well known comedic actor
Wow! I just notice at the Blue Note, when Frank walks out, the other side looks like a high class restaurant, totally different from the depressing side Frank was on lol
As I bring it up to people discovering Nake Gun, you want something different with Leslie Nielsen check out 1956's Forbidden Planet. It feels weird cause he became so known for his later work in spoofs like this to see him as a more standard good guy hero main character. Also, just good sci-fi movie on its own, with not nearly as goofy and cheesy special effects as you migth think of when you hear "50's sci-fi movie".
I just looked up some screenshots, I'm kind of shocked, but I've seen this movie! I remember the start where they were looking through a periscope maybe at a planet, and then they stood on something looking like transporter pads from Star Trek, which encased them in light while they travelled really fast or something. Never knew it was Leslie Nielsen :)
@@AthanImmortal I'm pretty sure it's a cult sci-fi flick (maybe even had a remake I don't know about), but feels more obscure these days. But yeah, it's biggest drawing power now is Leslie Nielsen before his hair was all white. You come for Nielsen, you stay for a genuinely interesting movie.
Also after he past away, His relatives said that he was this funny loving person in private, would have loved to have meet him, R.I.P. L. Nielsen. Will never forget you🤗💖
this was one of my favourite movies as a child and i have to admit it is still so f*cking hilarious now... the drug dealer thing took me over completely. i am glad i did not eat, drink or talk at that time 🤣 and still now, all the implicit things like "you think it's easy displacing an entire tribe?" are just so great. leslie nielsen's delivery... i can't find words to describe it. it is divine 😅
One guy in the last ep of Police Squad is Dick Miller. He passed away within the last five years or so, but was involved in movies and series for 6 decades. Gunslinger" M Squad", Dragnet". He was in over 180 of those, but somehow found actors/actresses for both. He was one that turned 90s movies into bikini, strip club flix. He was in one with David Carradine from 1992 that is one example called "Evil Toons" Probably not much of it would be allowed on TH-cam
The Mrs sure looked like she had a fun time watching this one. It was fun watching your reactions. Lol. The 1st and 2nd Naked Gun movies were pretty tied with me. The 3rd was good as well but with a slight step down. These were some of the first comedies I ever watched as a kid.
I am a fan of all these great movies as well as Police Squad. As for the Naked Gun series, I love all three movies about the same. I remember when police Squad came on TV. It was 1982. I had loved Airplane so much, and suddenly here was Leslie Nielsen on a TV show, with that same style of humor. I was sad it didn't last.
Honestly, you both have the best chemistry! Two of you possess the greatest charismatic, entertaining and humorous qualities, individually and especially as a reacting team - unquestionably my favourite pair of TH-cam creators ever; completely devoid of nonsensical hyperbolic gestures. Both you have an awesomely loving family, and I can only hope to someday experience the amazing job that each of you contributed to your family and yourselves: as evidenced by your daughters making their unexpected, adorably hilarious interjections, & the way they are lovingly guided back to bedtime, just whole-heartedly wonderful. Finally, everything combined, from reactions/reviews, to the gentleness of settling your children back into a safe comfortable environment, just truly spectacular. Keep up what you are doing, and God bless you and yours! 🙏🙂👌
That man still expecting the one he knocked out to quickly get up and try again, that was really funny, maybe hearing motorists trying to prevent the bus driver from speeding or people trying to point at the the one under the bus made him just want to drive faster, hahaha
I laughed because it's just a good thing to see how they carried on with showing the bus, you know what,? when something makes me laugh I don't hesitate
I absolutely loved y’all’s freeze frame at the end! Also, please watch Very Bad Things starring Jon Favreau, Christian Slater, the nervous guy from Seven, and Cameron Diaz.
17:46 He learned those moves at the Blue Oyster Bar. Also those were "stunt doubles" dancing; it's funny because of how much thinner frank gets all of a sudden
“In all honesty, the last two I backed over with my car. Luckily, they turned out to be drug dealers.” Gold.
“A white guy with a mustache, about six foot three.”
“An awfully big mustache."
Zsa Zsa, the sister of the actress in Green Acres, had been in an incident shortly before this movie’s release in which she slapped an officer.
She was a good sport to do that cameo.
She also threw out the classic line "Don't you know who I am".
It was Eva Gabor in Green Acres. I don't think she receives enough credit for her comedic chops on that show.
Traffic stop if I recall, and she slapped the cop, so she was arrested. In the end I think she got fined and had to do community service.
Funniest thing that happened that year
The jokes per minute of Leslie Nielsen movies is just astounding and so so so enjoyable!
Fun fact: Jerry Zucker (director of the Naked Gun series) also directed “Ghost.”
Creator of Police Squad!, he didn't direct any of the movies.
His brother directed Ghost.
Never apologize for love pudding! Lol🤣🤣
Leslie Nielsen was an absolute comic genius. The way he played everything so seriously made it soooo funny.
And he was surprisingly got his start as a serious actor up north.
@@TheCrazyCanuck420 actually for half of his career he played dramatic roles. he's been in Creepshow too, when I saw him I couldn't believe it!
10 minutes in and I'm almost seeing tears! This film is a joy, heck this trilogy and even the series it stems from are all a collective joy.
Believe it or not American film Institute top 100 comedies does not have the first or second naked gun on the list absolutely ridiculous everybody I know ranks these in the top five
The Ghost movie parody was included because the director of Ghost is Jerry Zucker the brother of David Zucker who directed this movie.
20:28 "What's he doing in Detroit?"
😆 You've got to love a good running gag.
Dr Meinheimer was played by Richard Griffiths, probably best known for playing Uncle Vernon in the Harry Potter movies.
He was really funny in a English film called Withnail and I.
I remember him in the Harry Potter movies I’ve seen him in one movie called Venus.
In real life, he was very friendly to Daniel Radcliffe who was Harry. He gave him acting tips and encouraged him to continue acting. He was a friend until his passing
Pie in the Sky!
The 'love pudding' line gets me everytime!🤣
One of my favorite lines from 1: “We can save your husband’s arm, Mrs. Nordberg. Where would you like it sent?”
Lmfao yes
Eva Gabor, Zsa Zsa's sister, was on Green Acres.
Their playful flirty banter is hilarious and sweet… and I cried when he said OJ is killer on that trumpet. 😂😂😂😂
the film's jokes + your reaction = comedy gold.
Naked Gun 1 is still my favorite. Best line: He's at Our Lady Of The Worthless Miracle
Originally it was "Our Lady That Never Got the Pickle", but Ricardo Montalban was a practicing Catholic and was like, "Fella's, please..."
as good as this sequel is: The 3rd naked Gun is so underrated (It came out at a strange time when the entire Parody film boom was on life support (It’s actually as good as the original because it changed up the formula it’s somewhat fresh (i can’t praise the 3rd sequel enough) it deserves a second chance
...or probably because of something that made major headlines the same year this movie came out. Say... oh, I dunno, an incident involving the actor that played Nordberg, perhaps?
@@earthien 😂🤣😂🤣😂
OJ on Howard Stern called it Naked Gun 3: Beating a Dead Horse
Wrongfully Accused was funny too.
It gave us the facepalm.
“OJ was killer on the trumpet” well played 😉
I will always laugh at the line;
“Frank, snap out of it! You're looking at her like she was your mother for Christ's sake!”
"I can't wait to taste your love pudding later." I think that was funnier than anything in the movie 🤣
Good thing the kids didn't walk in, at that moment. 😮
That ending was brilliant !
"Frank snap out of it. You're looking at her like she was your mother for christ sakes"
I was almost expecting an opening like : "Today, on You, me and the love pudding..."
That "Luckily they turned out to be drug dealers" line was genius, had me laughing my ass off with you guys.
But that's not important right now.
21:07 "There're just _some_ songs you _can't not_ sing."
"It's so true."
And Jane has the _loveliest singing_ voice.
The choking cough at the end got me good. Hadn't seen anyone choke after a kiss like that since I was a boy scout leader
Were you dating a lot at the time as well?
If she hadn't done that he'd still be sitting frozen.
Love pudding is one of my all time favorite comedy lines of all time. It gets spoken aloud in the household from time to time.
You guys have the best reactions. Good luck with the love pudding.

I'd forgot about the assassin tearing up over her singing "Memories" in the shower 😆such a funny movie.
The joke with Zsa Zsa Gabore slapping the police light at the end of the opening credits is a reference to her actually getting into an altercation with a Beverly Hills police officer in 1989, where she slapped him.
Great reaction! I hadn't seen this movie in over 20 years. I forgot how hilarious it was.
Imagine asking for that book title in the store," Can I have Strokin the love muffin, please" hahaha ;)
George Kennedy was a real asset to these movies.
Love pudding forever! Excellent freeze frame at the end.
"Is that the red or the white?" I'm glad you said that. I knew I recognized his voice.
“You’re not supposed to say it to me!” At least not while we’re on camera.

I'm SO proud of you for not missing the opportunity for that "love pudding" joke. You wasted zero time! Full respect mate!🍕🍕🍕🍕🍻🤘😎
Upon closer inspection, that was a pretty nice clock
I think the funniest parts of the combination of the writer's, cast and overall crew members of airplanes, naked gun and these comedies are them trying having to keep a straight face...I would love to see bloopers and behind sense of how many takes of them breaking charters 😂
"...he thrusted his purple-headed warrior into her quivering mound of love pudding."
One of the best one-liners EVER.
And NOW she's been branded... "Love Pudding"... lawsey.... 😝😝
At around 8:30 Mrs. grabs her water bottle from behind Frank's tie. Nice coin behind the ear variation.
She turned 5 shades of red when you mentioned her, "Love Pudding". You get away with some crazy sh*t.
Congratulations no technical difficulties this time, I’m so proud of you all.😊😊
The guy in the picture in the blues bar is Michael Dukakis. The guy who lost to bush sr.
Me and my brothers watched this movie over and over as kids
My best gag is either the opening scene or at the end when Frank zings the Bush administration.
One of my all time favorite comedy franchises Leslie Nielsen was just key in this role and to think he started out as a very well known dramatic actor before becoming a well known comedic actor

32:40 Well... that escalated quickly 😅😅😅
Eva Gabor was on Green Acres, Gza Gza Gabor was her sister and the last of the Gabor sisters to pass away.
That was Zsa Zsa Gabor. Her sister Eva was in "Green Acres," however.
Yes that was Zsa Zsa Gabor. At the time of this, she had recently been in the news for slapping a police officer when she was pulled over.
