Too bad, I think he really wanted to have a family. But his 1st wife Rose wanted a career. I think they stayed together for about 12 yrs. Her career never took off (has anyone ever heard of "Rose Parra"?) NOPE!!! and Poor Randy never had any kids. They divorced because of it I was hoping his 2nd wife was young enough to have a couple of kids with him. With men, it's never too late. Unfortunately, he has cancer now. I do wish him a full recovery. Seems like such a nice guy, a gentleman.
Rosie Fuentes Randy mentioned in first half of interview that his wife was already talking about children. There is no way Randy has ever divulged why they divorced. He is not that kind of man. There is a possibility it had something to do with him deciding to pursue his career in New York rather than California. He was 57 when he married his current wife and I give him much credit for not wantiing to be a new father when he was old enough to be a grandfather.
Tarn Sand I guess you're right; however I disagree with only one thing. There's nothing wrong with being a new dad at 57. How many have done so into their late 60s and even 70s? That's their choice and I respect that. Love Randy Mantooth. He was my first crush back when I first saw him on Emergency way back when I was in 7th grade. I think he was 28 yrs old at the time. I was only 12.
Rosie Fuentes Definitely nothing 'wrong' with being an older father...but some men may think it unfair to child was what I meant. Who really knows why they chose not to be parents. Btw; Randy's Mom raised 4 kids on a waitress salary. She retired at 77 and lived into her 90's. Randy looks alot like his Mom too:)
Rosie Fuentes: Randy was a great choice for a 12 yr old to have a crush on. As he was a positive role model who definitely didn't look in late 20's. Very much like David Cassidy who was older than he looked in Partridge Family days.
Weren't talk shows more interesting in 1970's-90's than now. Currently it feels like they are scripted mostly plugging new movie tv show or album. You never learn anything new about the guest.
Randolph is a dream interview.....he loves to talk and is very personable.
I this video!!! Randy Mantooth is still so handsome. I enjoyed watching both interviews. Love from Marysville, California KMG 365
