I was growing up when this show aired they done a good job with the show This show paved the way for the 911 emergency system it was the better time to be growing up
This is the best replica of Squad 51 that I've seen on the internet. It's not a perfect match, but somebody made the effort to get it as close as they can. For example, the utility bed has the same unique door configuration used by Los Angeles County paramedics. And a 1970s Dodge truck was used instead of an 81-93 model.
@@davidwilhelm7466 I'm not sure you understood what I was saying. I was talking about replica trucks, not the actual truck used in the show. Some people have built replicas of the 1972 truck used in the show, but they used a Dodge truck that was a newer style. So it's not hard to see the differences between their replica and the original. The replica in this video used the correct generation of Dodge truck.
I've seen and sat in the original at a special ceremony at Station 127. This is definitely a replica. For example, the original didn't have a step rail above the rear wheel well. But still, a really nice job!
I used to see Randy who attended school with my Father, aunts, and uncle in Santa Barbara growing up in same neighborhood there, in North Hollywood and around the valley filming......in LA City fire territory and response areas. Lol😅
No, the original Squad 51 is currently located at the Los Angeles County Fire Museum in Bellflower California along with the 2 Engine 51's from the show, the Crown Engine being the main apparatus from Season 1 to 3, and the WardLaFrance engine debuts in the 3rd episode of Season 3 with a wrecking yard fire as the first call for that engine.
I watched that show when I was a kid. "Start an iv drip with ringers lactate!", always said by that one doctor, lol, is engraved in my memory.
Be still my heart! That is awesome!!!!

Show ran from 1972 to 1979. Kinda hard for an 80's truck to show up a decade before they were made.

Really good replica but the show truck didn’t have the diamond plate on the bed box just the aluminum railing. Love this truck ! 🇺🇸
Yup, Dodge letters were painted over on hood for one of the trucks.

Not **Rare**
@@buzman1985 it's pretty rare considering the fact you don't see a replica of squad 51 everyday.
The horrible Dodge. Cheapest truck at the time.
