His composing the songs coupled with his style of playing bass is why they have such a unique sound. My personal opinion is that Piece of Mind is their best album.
But one thing on the other side... i am a extrem Maiden Fan and an 8 is a really low one for this band who performs their own style for over 30years and still going their own awesome way. You will find very few bands who are so genius but still so grounded like them. Belive it or not... they dont take themself so serious like it seems. They do it for fun these days.... just to make people happy and that is what them make special in these days. Just have fun- up the irons
Steve Harris Bass player. He wrote most of their music. Iron Maiden will go down as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. I grew up in the 80's and saw them in concert several times. Bruce is one of greatest metal vocalists in history. Thanks for keeping these legends alive.
I'm a veteran when it comes to introducing outsiders to metal and I find that Prog Metal is the easiest along with classic Heavy Metal. Maiden is perfect, keep going! My recommendation is *Visigoth* . They are a 2010s band that plays classic Heavy Metal and its very catchy, it would be perfect for her. Creature of Desire for a short song, Mammoth Rider to break your necks headbanging and Traitors Gate for cool intro.
First, thanks for your service sir....second, fuck that shit....metal is either in your soul or not....for me it’s the guitar...as long as I can remember, hearing good guitar work just hits me right in my soul...that goes for acoustic too...at the core of metal is blues...I don’t mind bands like Rush, I like four or five of theirs songs a lot...the rest is jam band bullshit...very talented musicians, but just not for me.
Awesome reaction again! It was my fault that I told you they're playing this summer, you have you go and see them live, you really do. Bruce, the singer, had throat cancer 3 years ago, but he pulled through and still sounds as awesome as ever! They are incredible live even though they're all in their 60's, personally I think the current tour is the best they've done in 40 years! It's a shame your maiden voyage has come to en end, but if you find yourselves with an hour or 2 to spare I highly recommend you watch their flight 666 documentary and then the flight 666 concert, Bruce is a commercial airline pilot and flys the band around in a huge airliner for some of their world tours. Looking forward to seeing what band you choose next, enjoy your metal journey and Up the Irons! Cheers!

I am an OOOG heavy metal fan from the old days. I went to every heavy metal/hard rock concert that came to my town back in the late 70's to mid 80's, including Iron Maiden. There is nothing like being at a live heavy metal/hard rock concert.I bet if you got to see them like I did in 1985, you would give them a 10. Nice to see you young kids taking an interest. Another solid video, and yay Pamela for reacting appropriately to the awesomeness that is Maiden. You guys should pick up "Metal - A Headbanger's Journey" on DVD for a thoroughly researched and eloquently presented primer on where metal comes from and how it can refer to such a variety of musical sounds. I think Jordan could learn a thing or two from this too. \m/ ;)
Great video guys!! A solid 8 for the three songs and a solid 9 for the win!! Yessss!! 🤘🏻😆🤘🏻. Now you see why Iron Maiden is and always will be my favourite band of all time!! I hope you don’t stop there though, there’s so much more amazing songs from them that you need to discover! I strongly recommend Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Alexander the Great, Wasted Years, Stranger in a Strange Land, Flight of Icarus, To Tame a Land, Mother Russia, Paschendale, Flash of the Blade and their whole concept album, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son! 😊. Take care and have a great week! 😊

Bruce sings very well now after his operation. He had cancer on the back of his tongue which affected his singing for a while. Now he sings pretty much like when he was young.
I can’t believe you did the equivalent of pausing at the floorgasm but in this song 😂 Great video as always, please keep it up and let us see you more so often!
These guys are still touring and releasing albums as of the last time I checked about 2 years ago. If you want to contrast their old songs against their newer ones and see how much they still rock look up "out of the silent planet".
I love the format of 3 songs block by one band. I think it makes you more in touch with your memories and better context for reactions if you do not have to remember what you last thought about it.Cheers.
She mentioned the goosebumps. Years ago when I first heard of bards, I didn't get it. Today though, I do get it. Bruce is a true bard, he makes you feel every song.
Wow, that was long wait:) keep this format, because it's hard to judge band by one song, but you can record all tree reactions together just upload it separately. Can't wait for the next one.
For my money, the first Thrash metal song is Motorheads "Overkill" from '79. It's all about that double bass drum and speed.. as in Lemmy and his band took copious doses of speed. Maiden is definitely more of a NWOBHM band (new wave of British heavy metal) but they had some fast songs once in a while.
This is actually from a concert from the tour promoting the Number of the beast album back in 1983. Clive Burr, the drummer at this gig, died in March 2013 from MS
I have listened to this track thousands of time and it still gives me goosebumps. I’m sure it’s been mentioned, but Rime of the Ancient Mariner should be next on your list, actually just listen to the whole Powersave album and be prepared to go on a journey from beginning to end and get a lesson in literature and history while banging your head Up the Irons 🤘🏼
I just knew that that would hit the spot :) Well done, you two. Not sure about the 3 song format. There's plenty of bands out there who have their ultimate signature song, whilst the rest of their songs are more of an acquired taste. I guess the point is not to start liking certain bands per se, but to start liking metal. So, next song? I would suggest Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame - Live in Tokyo 1984/08/05 Exceptional singer, live, melodic, it seems to tick the boxes.
Im a Maiden fan since 1985 and i loved both of your breakdowns of the performance....spot on. I never thought of the prisoners heart racing when grappling with the thoughts of death....so thank you Pamela for opening my eyes (& ears) to that !!
You need to see them this tour, I saw the UK leg of this tour, and they sound as good now as they did at their peak. Plus the set dressings are AMAZING.
Hey guys, Great reaction, good stuff - Pamela made good progress. BTW, Steve Harris plays the base and is the founder of Iron Maiden. I‘d be curious to see what Jordan is up to for the next one. Heavy Metal such as Iron Maiden is a great band to start with. If I may, I‘d like to suggest a German Heavy Metal band for a change - equally melodic, but different vibe. I might have mentioned them before - Powerwolf. I would certainly look for Live performance at Wacken - biggest Heavy Metal Festival in the world. th-cam.com/video/COJjP9c7aQY/w-d-xo.html This would be called Symphonic Metal, I guess that would play directly in Pamela‘s favor. Have a good one. Keep on rockin‘
Whoot she's starting to embrace the feeling of getting pumped! I suggest however more classic metal. I think a two round session of acdc would be great before hitting her with something modern. Hell's bells and thunderstruck would be my picks. Now that my leafs are out I have to rely on you guys for my torontonian entertainment. Keep it up!
You just opened Pandora's box with Iron Maiden with this girl. Now show her: Loneliness of the long distance Runner, Out of the Silent Planet, Infinite dreams, Afraid to shoot strangers, Blood brothers. I get her mind. I guarantee 100% she will love them all mark my words.
Type O Negative album October Rust would be a good gateway album into metal as well. Or other Type O songs like Anesthesia, September Sun, Nettie, Dream is Dead
Watching this again just confitms for me that Bruce Dickinson is the Freddy Mercury of Metal, nobody could ever top Freddy as a front man but Bruce is his metal match just top notch front man energy ❤😍
I saw these guys at sonisphere 2010 in Knebworth uk, they still brought the same energy and passion to their craft and put on one hell of a show. One of the best memories of my life so far is crowd surfing to this song as the solo started to kick in ^_^
Suggestions of metal "Classics" : Definitely Black Sabbath (War Pig)... Metallica duh lol, but which one? A survey for best song for introducing someone to Metallica could be interesting... For the more contemporary (yet accessible) bands, I'd suggest Jinjer (Piscies (live session) or Teacher, teacher!). Do you want to explore all sub-genre of metal like grindcore, prog-metal, death metal, symphonic metal, power metal, etc, and would you want us to specify the sub-genre of suggested band/song? Great job! We'll make Pamela headbang in no time! ;)
Spread your wings guys. Rush Xanadu - Exit stage left live , it's Canadian progressive metal, musicianship is top notch , Triumph - magic power , another Canadian band
As you already know that Steve Harris is the bassist written most of Iron Maiden's songs. He is also the founder of Iron Maiden too. In this 1982's live, that drummer is Clive Burr. He played for IM from 1979 to 1982 until Nicko McBrain, current drummer replaced him as their drummer. Sadly, Clive died in 2013 at the age of 56 of Multiple Sclerosis. Right now, Iron Maiden are their "Legacy of the Beast" tour celebrate band's 45 years of music from 1975 to present. I don't think they are retiring like other bands who are either planning or already retire from touring. Jordan, answering your question: they do exercise especially Bruce due his other profession - Airline Pilot. He has to do it in order keep up his flying credentials. During long flights part of their tours, he flies his bandmates, crew, staff, and equipment in a custom Boeing 747 or 757 dubbed "Edd Force One". See their updated videos showing Bruce with short hair due to flight regulations.
its good to see you are introducing her to the most expressive, free-ranging genre of music slowly and on her terms not yours. i too am a metal aficianado and a classical music fan, which are basically one and the same since good deal of metal incorporates the classical element. i love maiden too. if she likes classical voices nothing beats nightwish with Tarja Turenen, their original operatic style vocalist. another great female fronted band is Epica full of hauntingly beautiful melodies wth a full chorus and orchestra as backup.
Some suggestion out of the "standard songs to let metal be known": "Gutter Ballet" and "Chance" by Savatage, "Carolina IV" by Angra, "I Am the Dog" by Nevermore, "Satch Boogie" by Joe Satriani, "Strange Machines" by The Gathering, "Warcry" by Shadow Gallery, "Keep my Grave Open" by Sentenced. You'll have a lot to discuss :)
This is the 2nd video I watch on your channel (I come from the Nightwish mean comments one), and I still reafirm my initial opinion about the whole thing, BUT, but if your the idea is keeping on this crusade to convert her into a "metalgirl", well... ...I'm sure (so far) that she maybe enjoys way better classic metal stuff than something heavier or an even more extreme oriented sound. I have some options, if you want to see them, let me know on any case. Greetings to both! 🤘🤘🤘
I have been a maiden fan since 1979 and i think they are the best band on the planet. If you want to hear another british band(Sadly the original line up is no longer with us)try MOTORHEAD"ace of spades". R.I.P. LEMMY.
Iron Maiden must watch live songs: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. (Flight 666). The Sign of the Cross (Rock in Rio). Fear of the Dark (En Vivo!) The Clansman (Rock in Rio)
In 1982 when I was 12 I saw Iron Maiden and they performed Hallowed be thy name and Bruce Dickinson his voice was incredible he never got drowned out by the instrument and it was just a phenomenal performance of that song seeing them live was better than their LP
Great video and series! Hats off to your girlfriend, she's a real trooper! (No that wasn't another Maiden reference!) It's great that you've been showing all kinds of metal especially Maiden which is what I like to call "melodic metal" because Bruce Dickinson's vocal range is so wide! Speaking of great singers, I would love to see a Dio video! Three Dio songs I recommend doing a series on: 1. The Last In Line 2. Caught In The Middle 3. Holy Diver Keep up the great series!
Suggestion: keep the 3 videos for some more big bands, then go to 1 per band. These videos were very good, I really enjoy them, I love how you are, best wishes for you as a couple, keep up this great work Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina
The 3 song format is a great idea, thumbs up guys... oh, I still stand by doing Pisces by Jinjer, they are the newest metal bad to me and I think hearing a woman sing metal would be a great reaction
You can never go wrong with Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears”. My mother, the stereotypical Christian woman who absolutely HATES hard rock/metal and this is one of the few song she likes/tolerates. The highs and lows as well as the cool music video itself should be pretty easy to sell.
Dude & Dedette... IRON MAIDEN are not Heavy Metal... they are Hard Rock and the lead singer Bruce Dickinson earned the title Bruce 'The Air Raid Siren' Dickinson due to his vocal capability. Recently, mid-end 2018 he was recovering from throat cancer.
Bruce Dickinson is an absolute beast!! A sound guy in person too, the band first started playing at this small pub called the cart and horses in 75/76... the place is still kicking and they have what they call Eddie's wall of fame! Enjoyed watching u both again. Keep it up 🖤
What I think is so incredible about the song is that how it's able to transport you to the person in the cell going to be executed and all the things that is going through his mind at the time before his execution
Here are some heavy stuff with good conversion material :) from different genres. The last 3 especially the last one might be to heavy but sometimes all you need is a punch. Jinjer Pisces (Live Session) Nightwish - Over the Hills and Far Away (by Tarja) Nightwish - Amaranth (by annette olson) Rolling Stones - Paint It Black LIVE (1966) Skillet - Monster Lacuna Coil - Spellbound Live at Wacken 2009 Epica - Sancta Terra (feat Floor Jansen) Live Retrospect show Hurt - Rapture lyrics video Unleash The Archers - General Of The Dark Army ELUVEITIE - The Slumber Infected Rain - Orphan Soul Arch Enemy - Burning Angel live in Tokyo 2008
Here's the thing.. quality indoors. Regardless of genre great songwriting can make something live again and again over multiple Generations. Maiden, Judas priest, rush, all these wonderful old school bands are finding a whole new life in the reaction Community because the music's flat out great. The song writing is great. There's whole new generations of kids who've never heard music actually performed by human beings and there is something intrinsically magical about that interrelationship with music and you can see that it's working it's magic all over again. Maiden is an absolutely brilliant band and they're playing the biggest audiences of their lives even now.. when you go see them they still sound amazing, they're still energetic, they still treat their fans with respect, and you are seeing an audience full of three generations of fans because parents want to share it with their kids, and those kids want to share it with their kids and it's just a wonderful thing to see. So glad that you guys are taking this journey.
Please do some Type-O- Negative Cinnamon girl These 3 things Wolf moon Nettie Love you to Death Anesthesia Trust me she'll love Peter Steel's voice and the band
Since she is new to Iron Maiden and not infected with the Bruce fanboy/girl virus I was going to suggest letting her listen to The clansman from the Blaze Bayley era, but I have a feeling it would end up with the live version with Bruce instead so I still suggest the song because it kick ass with both Bruce and Blaze. But I DO recomend you to let her listen to Stare at the sun from Blaze Bayleys first solo album, a song that was originally written to be on the next Maiden album if Bruce didnt return. An amazing song and the live version from The night that will not die is a great introduction to Blaze Bayley if you havent heard him at all. Also, R.I.P. Clive
Iron Maiden are the best band in the world in my opinion, where at a concert last year (2018) dude bruce use a different costume at each number, fitting the number they where playing, totally badass, and no he where not showing his age, not 100% on this but 59 - 60 years old. Side note, where on Niko McBrain’s birthday (the drummer) Up The freaking Irons, from Denmark 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
Great video you 2 are awesome!!! You have to listen more new stuff from Maiden before Go to their live concert. Rock in Rio or Dead in the road and then and really after that En Vivo! Or some of the ofter Bands... but take live ones for sure! Greetz from Germany
I saw Maiden two summers ago in Tampa. It was a face melting experience! ALSO, Bruce Dickinson has beaten freaking THROAT CANCER! And he still sounds unbelievably good!
Live that the younger generation is getting into the music I listened and still listen to! I see you guys haven’t done s video in 4 months but I’m hoping you come back and do Fear of the dark, Wasted years, and rime of the ancient mariner!
I love her reaction when Bruce started to sing in the faster phase. Wish my boyfriend would have had that reaction when I tried to introduce him to iron Maiden last week.
I think she will love Fear of the dark live in Rock in Rio. and tell her that this video these guys are over 50. Immortal. And the crowd at almost 250,000 is crazy!!!
There was one song that turned me into a metalhead...... Mirror Mirror- Blind Guardian.... or was it Nightfall- Blind Guardian?? i can't remember... Both songs are great, the Voive of Hansi Kürsch is absolutly great. There was a power i can't explaine... By the way, this is a comment from Germany sooooooooo.....sorry for my english xD But really... Blind Guardian - Mirror Mirror ... or better... Blind Guardian - Wacken 2016 The Bard's son and Valhalla. One of the best live performances th-cam.com/video/i-IcX_bccFc/w-d-xo.html

Good old Tailgunner!!
Bruce Dickenson also owns and flies the band around in a 747 jumbo jet, called Ed Force One.
Hey there, your half right. Bruce flies the plane, but leases the plane, i think from British Airways, who trained him.
The 747 the original "Ed Force One" was damaged in a storm in Puerto Rico (or similar island), they now fly in an 737 they lease...
Maddog Jones sure? I remember one 757
He's also an Olympic level fencer.
Ed Force One is not owned by Dickinson. Is rented by Iron Maiden. There have being actually two Ed Force One

Not sure about the 3 song format. There's plenty of bands out there who have their ultimate signature song, whilst the rest of their songs are more of an acquired taste. I guess the point is not to start liking certain bands per se, but to start liking metal.
So, next song? I would suggest Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame - Live in Tokyo 1984/08/05
Exceptional singer, live, melodic, it seems to tick the boxes.
Im a Maiden fan since 1985 and i loved both of your breakdowns of the performance....spot on. I never thought of the prisoners heart racing when grappling with the thoughts of death....so thank you Pamela for opening my eyes (& ears) to that !!
Got tickets to see Maiden July 26th @Barclays in Brooklyn can’t wait 🤘
Their own tour, you should take this lovely lady to see them live. You both won't be disappointed.
You need to see them this tour, I saw the UK leg of this tour, and they sound as good now as they did at their peak. Plus the set dressings are AMAZING.
Hey guys,
Great reaction, good stuff - Pamela made good progress. BTW, Steve Harris plays the base and is the founder of Iron Maiden.
I‘d be curious to see what Jordan is up to for the next one. Heavy Metal such as Iron Maiden is a great band to start with. If I may, I‘d like to suggest a German
Heavy Metal band for a change - equally melodic, but different vibe. I might have mentioned them before - Powerwolf.
I would certainly look for Live performance at Wacken - biggest Heavy Metal Festival in the world. th-cam.com/video/COJjP9c7aQY/w-d-xo.html
This would be called Symphonic Metal, I guess that would play directly in Pamela‘s favor.
Have a good one. Keep on rockin‘
She's a keeper. Never let her go.
One-Eye 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Whoot she's starting to embrace the feeling of getting pumped! I suggest however more classic metal. I think a two round session of acdc would be great before hitting her with something modern. Hell's bells and thunderstruck would be my picks.
Now that my leafs are out I have to rely on you guys for my torontonian entertainment. Keep it up!
You just opened Pandora's box with Iron Maiden with this girl. Now show her:
Loneliness of the long distance Runner,
Out of the Silent Planet,
Infinite dreams,
Afraid to shoot strangers,
Blood brothers.
I get her mind. I guarantee 100% she will love them all mark my words.
Hello from across the pond, Just stumbled over your Chanel, more maiden please 😬 no particular song, they’re all epic lol
666 the number of the beast
888 the number of the Pamela.
Format is fine.
Viši inspektor Bešević your comment is so great
Some suggestion out of the "standard songs to let metal be known": "Gutter Ballet" and "Chance" by Savatage, "Carolina IV" by Angra, "I Am the Dog" by Nevermore, "Satch Boogie" by Joe Satriani, "Strange Machines" by The Gathering, "Warcry" by Shadow Gallery, "Keep my Grave Open" by Sentenced.
R.I.P. LEMMY.
Great reaction guys!! Keep em coming :)
I suggest also "Sventh son of a Seventh son"
gj guys i, me drink beer 🍻🍻Iron Maiden - Caught Somewhere In Time, To Tame A Land, Infinite Dreams💀
Iron Maiden must watch live songs:
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. (Flight 666).
The Sign of the Cross (Rock in Rio).
Fear of the Dark (En Vivo!)
The Clansman (Rock in Rio)
In 1982 when I was 12 I saw Iron Maiden and they performed Hallowed be thy name and Bruce Dickinson his voice was incredible he never got drowned out by the instrument and it was just a phenomenal performance of that song seeing them live was better than their LP
Told ya....goosebumps awaits :) Best live band in the world
Just a note Bruce was called the air raid alarm system for the UK also called the Chuck Norris of Heavy metal.
Three Dio songs I recommend doing a series on:
1. The Last In Line
2. Caught In The Middle
3. Holy Diver
Keep up the great series!
Thanks!!
Suggestion: keep the 3 videos for some more big bands, then go to 1 per band. These videos were very good, I really enjoy them, I love how you are, best wishes for you as a couple, keep up this great work
Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina
That's a really good point! Thanks!
Judas Priest "The sentinel" is another great Metal song you'll probably really like.
Suggestion #1-Pantera- Cemetary Gates. Suggestion #2-Type O Negative- Love You to Death.
i literally play this song back to back for hours while driving. And LOUD
Now you got the point !!!! Maiden’s live performance is the real deal!!
Next, give her Priest (JP) ..
Live -- US Festival '83 -- Victims of Changes ..
She can laugh at the "short" shorts we men wore at the time ..
Painkiller !!!!!!
Jinjer Pisces (Live Session)
Nightwish - Over the Hills and Far Away (by Tarja)
Nightwish - Amaranth (by annette olson)
Rolling Stones - Paint It Black LIVE (1966)
Skillet - Monster
Lacuna Coil - Spellbound Live at Wacken 2009
Epica - Sancta Terra (feat Floor Jansen) Live Retrospect show
Hurt - Rapture lyrics video
Unleash The Archers - General Of The Dark Army
ELUVEITIE - The Slumber
Infected Rain - Orphan Soul
Arch Enemy - Burning Angel live in Tokyo 2008
I see this channel turning into a exquisite wine and music channel... cue gaahl anyone?
Just buy tickets and watch them live, it's once in a lifetime experience. Just do it, you'll be amazed!
haha certainly thinking about it
Please do some
Type-O- Negative
Cinnamon girl
These 3 things
Wolf moon
Nettie
Love you to Death
Anesthesia
Trust me she'll love Peter Steel's voice and the band
Clive
Of course, that's not '8', it is 'infinite' accidentally turned sideways, right?
ha!!
Iron Maiden are the best band in the world in my opinion, where at a concert last year (2018) dude bruce use a different costume at each number, fitting the number they where playing, totally badass, and no he where not showing his age, not 100% on this but 59 - 60 years old.
Side note, where on Niko McBrain’s birthday (the drummer)
Up The freaking Irons, from Denmark 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
Great video you 2 are awesome!!!
You have to listen more new stuff from Maiden before Go to their live concert. Rock in Rio or Dead in the road and then and really after that En Vivo!
Or some of the ofter Bands... but take live ones for sure!
Greetz from Germany
Here's some suggestions.
Sabaton - Ghost Division (Live 2012 Poland)
Jinjer - Pieces
Ghost - Dance Macabre
Iced Earth - Dantes Inferno (Alive in Athens)
Blind Guardian - Bards Song (Into the Forest) and Valhalla.
Yup- live at Hammersmith is their best live version. First time I saw maiden they opened up for rainbow in Cleveland, Ohio in 1982.
You will get her man don't give up🤘🏼
Dio - last in line live at The Spectrum 84!
can you jump to the final steps of metal which is violent extreme brutal blasphemy try behemoth the reign of shamsu hur
Bruce is also the pilot for the band in their 747 called Ed-force one (as you do)
Also, I like this format. It's unique to the dozens of other channels out there.
I love her reaction when Bruce started to sing in the faster phase. Wish my boyfriend would have had that reaction when I tried to introduce him to iron Maiden last week.
My recommendation is: Blind Guadian - Valhalla live :)
I think she will love Fear of the dark live in Rock in Rio. and tell her that this video these guys are over 50. Immortal. And the crowd at almost 250,000 is crazy!!!
You guys are awesome!
Iron Maiden is simply the best, even to this day!
There was one song that turned me into a metalhead...... Mirror Mirror- Blind Guardian.... or was it Nightfall- Blind Guardian?? i can't remember... Both songs are great, the Voive of Hansi Kürsch is absolutly great. There was a power i can't explaine... By the way, this is a comment from Germany sooooooooo.....sorry for my english xD
But really... Blind Guardian - Mirror Mirror ... or better...
Blind Guardian - Wacken 2016 The Bard's son and Valhalla. One of the best live performances
