    I was having problems with my 180 c that fit this description so I decided to watch this. When the video started I immediately thought "what's this kid going to show me that I don't already know?"
    Who would have thought to even look at the muffler screen? The boy nailed it! Before watching the video I disassembled and completely cleaned and blew out the carburetor, dumped the gas and put in fresh mix, and new spark plug. Still ran like crap. I thought to myself "it's got air fuel and spark, and it runs, what the hell's the problem?" Well, if the exhaust can't get out it doesn't matter what you put in it!🤣
    It turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks! Good work my man! I hope this video has helped many others!

You could be fined and imprisoned. This young man has gave some great advice in his video and in the comments section. Probably knows more than you may realize? I took it back a few weeks ago and they said the carburretor was faulty and it was my fault because I hadn't used it. I said how can I use it if it will not start and walked out. If the gas is more than a month old dump it and go get some new stuff. If that doesn't do it, assuming you've already checked spark plug and air filter, you will want to do a full carb disassembly cleaning and blow out with compressed air if it has been sitting for over a year with bad gas in it. I always empty the gas tanks on all my small engines and run them completely out of gas when I'm putting them away for the winter.

    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

      bad ignition coil causes that issue

  • @yeager6882
    @yeager6882 ปีที่แล้ว

    11 times out of 10 it is a fuel issue and/or flooding. The spark arrestor is going to get carbonized because you continue to use improper fuel flooding it while starting it.

    • @v26224
      @v26224  ปีที่แล้ว

      not always. due to the non adjustable carb running with a fixed high jet, the saw can run rich on fuel due to different air pressures and changes in elevation and temp. the excess of fuel leads to more carbon build up and heat over time wile running at peak RPM

  • @JoseSanchez-wb5rz
    @JoseSanchez-wb5rz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    If just that bit of carbon deposit can hold the machines performance there was some bad decisions when this saw was made,I would remove the damn spark arrestor and be done with the problem.

      On the 170 and 180 models, there's only one carburetor screw... The LA. That's for your idle throttle speed. There are literally no other screws on these self-adjusting carburetors. You need to rebuild or buy a new one.

      When you first start it, it's designed to go to do a high rev until you give it a quick throttle squeeze. You're supposed to do that squeeze within a few seconds to avoid ruining the clutch.

    • @darkshaman7087
      @darkshaman7087 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@karlrovey you should let chainsaw run for about 5 minutes before use to warm up as the piston as it will expand and heats up quicker than the cylinder and if revving the engine up will cause it to rub and score the cylinder.
