    Fenix headlamps are fantastic. I have the hm65rT and the amount of light and battery life combined with simple operation and removal of the battery.

    I got the 65R-T largely based on your recommendation, but also have an UltraAspire waist light. I like having the two angles, and that they both use the same very standard 18650 battery. I can have a couple of spares and use them in either.

    A great comprehensive review and I’ll certainly consider Fenix when replacing my head torch 🔦 Cheers LP 😊

    Thank you for this review. Howeverv halfway through I had to switch off (subtitles on) the audio due to the repetitive 'music' track.

    I've still got a bad taste in my mouth after buying the Nitecore UT27 you recommended. I only used it for training runs & it only lasted two months before the plastic buckle started cracking off in pieces... 👊👊👊

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      My NU27 is still going strong, I'm sorry to hear you had issues. I take it you contacted Nitecore about the problem? I'm sure they would try and resolve this issue because it doesn't sound right to me 👍

    What about the HM62-T? Would love to see your take on it.

    Nitecore /Fenix need more modes
    The HL32 has 200/800 lumen, nothing between
    HL16 only lasts 30 seconds at 450 lumen before dropping to 150, which is too dark for me on muddy roads

  • @notmedude

    How does this bad boy compare to the Nitecore UT27v2?

    Great review Loyd. I’ve been using this trying it for the Spine Challenger coming up. It’s either using this or it’s bigger brother. I love the Fenix head torches

    I wish fenix made some ultralight flood light only torch. I never use the spot on my 65rt

    Thanks for a great review. I’m trying to make my mind up what would be more suitable for the UTMB CCC. The dark should last about 10 and a 1/2 hours. What would you suggest?
    The 32 with a spare torch / change of batteries for the remaining time. Or not take any chances and go for the heavier 65. I don’t see many other whole nighters in the foreseeable future, so basically it would be a one timer for the 65… but a very important one time😊
    I’d appreciate your suggestions… thanks again for the great review.

      It looks like the mandatory kit list includes TWO torches with spare batteries for each. Given how much I expect you're going to be spending on that race with travel and accommodations etc. I would not skimp on equipment. Yes it all adds up, but the extra cost of a longer battery life torch is pretty small in the grand scheme of things.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would personally go for the HM65R-T for a race like the CCC. I used it at the TDS last year and it was perfect. It can be super bright when you need it to be but most of the time you'll only need it on the mid or low setting because you will be hiking for most of the race. Because of that you might not even need to change your battery 👍
      Hope this helps and see you Chamonix, thanks for watching 🙏

    I've got the 65RT and the hl18RT. So for me, this one has no real use in my line up. I use the 18rt as my DIY torch around the house ,working on my motorbike and for summer night running. I take it as a back up for mandatory kit but is a bit bulky for that really. The most annoying thing between the two is the different charging cable needed.
    If I didn't have the 18rt, this would get a look in though.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree about the charging leads Ian, it's a bit ridiculous! I'm sure Fenix are using USB-C for all their headtorches now 🤔
      Hope you and the family are fit and well mate 🙏😊

    Nitecore NU43 wipes the floor with this. Fenix HM65T is still unmatched for ultimate performance but this is rather underwhelming for the price.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree when it comes to the performance of the NU43 but not being able to change the battery definitely turns a lot of runners away 👍 It seems like a strange move by Nitecore?

    • @TomMorgan1066

      @user-kl3lg7tf3n-anx1ous ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Run4Adventure Not being able to swap the battery is indeed a big omission. However most runners who would also consider the Fenix HL32R-T are probably looking for something dependable with enough power to run for a couple of hours/half a night at most. NU43 provides much more and if not used continuously from 100 percent to near zero for long nights on end shouldn't need a battery replacement for at least 3-4 years.-plus it's cheaper, at least as durable and way brighter.

    What u talkin these built in batteries make the headlamp like a disposable rechargeable vape you see littering the highway, should be able to swap out RECHARGABLE batteries, its short sited and inconvenient,Bad idea for these times to manufacture things that you throw away when the battery performance craps on you, and the tint is rather unnatural for admiring nature, ide probably go with a fenix, sofirn, acebeam, convoy, so many options just do t lt th battery set the funeral date for your lamp, and nice to be a le to slap in A freshy, get a high cri option if you like identifying rocks amd plants, or looking at blue spotted salamaders whose whomes are being destroyed by the industrial insect invasion
