I initially didn't recall this case until you mentioned his gay lover. Suddenly, the CCTV footage of him conversing with Tongo came flooding back to me. Oh my goodness! This was scandalous!

I think his parents knew he was gay and wanted him to marry a girl still. Thats why they rushed for that marriage. They may have advised him to live a double life. But when he couldnt take it anymore he did it.
The criminals story keeps on changing because they are habitual offenders and they maybe making up stories instantly which suited better for them at each time or police may have mixed up their stories to get strong evidence against Shrein.
I think Shrein did it. If he did love her, he wouldn't act like that just after her death.

But that doesn't make sense, if his family knew that he was gay or bi sexual. Why would they force him to live a double life? More so given Anni is a progressive woman who would easily end this marriage and being shame to the family regardless.

I think the parents wanted Shrein to marry, to show their community that their son is normal. Showing off their wealth with a grand wedding celebration which they wouldn't exhibit if he married a gay.
Soon there would be a divorce, bad mouthing Anni probably by saying she's a useless wife or some other excuse.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Anni's family they lost a very beautiful daughter. It's just so sad for any parent to lose their child in such an unfortunate way!

While I’m not very familiar with the culture, and I don’t wanna disrespect, anybody’s parents, families, or customs, there was some new ones in here. I hadn’t picked up from some other Podcasters, who did not really explain the cultural significance of this case.
I am wondering if the grooms parents had anything to do with pressuring him to get married in the first place to conceal his true sexual orientation, if they had known about his trusts at that club?
Please understand that I’m not looking for a reason, other than the fact that it just seems so odd that he would marry somebody he didn’t love unless he was pressured into it.
I feel so bad for her parents and her siblings, and her friends, and everybody who loves, and had loved her, because she was radiantly beautiful. She was a young woman who had her future ahead of her, and knowing her last moments in life were spent with sorrow, confusion and abuse. ❤

In the beginning of the video when hosts talks about Shrein not being interested in Annie n constantly criticising her. I felt maybe he was in love with someone , his parents didn't agree to the alliance and that's why they so readily marry for Shrein and Annie's marriage, even though considering their status they could've found a much richer girl. And considering how they didn't want a very rich girl possible that Shrein was gay and the engagement he talked about was with a man.
And now I googled to find out that the man is actually gay and is with his partner right now. Obviously he must've been pressurised by his parents to shut down Annie, so the news of his sexuality won't come out. Homosexuality wasn't that prevalent in that era.

This mindset is exactly what has being driving people even more to commit heinous acts like these.. even though they don’t live in your country anymore, your stupid ideologies clearly affect people a lot

I absolutely love the podcast folks. It is mind blowing. I just feel you both need to ease up a lil with the TH-cam videos. Just take your time, have some fun banter and then go on with the proceedings. Videos have been made a lil hurriedly. This is just my personal opinion and please ignore this if it seems useless. Apart from that you both are delivering quality stuff and I congratulate you for that. Keep up the good work you both. 👏 ❤️

How many times have we seen a gay guy unable to come clean with the girl and family before marriage due to fear of honor and embarrassment, the girl noticing red flags but not coming clean with parents because it is too late, the parents ignoring the red flags... and though mostly the girl is the victim in the end, sometimes the guy is as well. Annie's story is heartbreaking

    Very sad but interesting case.
Music was a little to loud at times.
Honestly I'm not sure why you'd have music while you were telling the story.
Maybe you didn't even realize it was so loud. All in all its a pretty good video.
I recommend that when you edit to also check your volume.
Hope channel continues to get better so good luck. 😊💯

    My points
    1. Shrien has nothing to do with this murder, he is just a narcissistic human being who believes he deserves everything be perfect in his life. Anni was a gorgeous woman and this would help him gain more respect within the Indian society.
    2. Him being Bi isn't relevant to the case, he hid it from Anni and her family. That's horrible, but that's not a crime.
    3. Zola Tongo, Mbolombo were the true masterminds. One of them didn't even serve time for his crime, they got away with nothing by lying about the whole crime.
    4. Shrien was a horrible person, who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. All the things which happened before makes it look like Shrien is the devil and he did it. But he is just a horrible human being.
Don't get me wrong, Shrien Dewani is a horrible person and he ruined an innocent girl's life. Anni's family doesn't deserve this, they needed a Son in law who was more concerned not one who was a narcissistic piece of shit who is focused on his image more than anything else.

He wasn't Bi he was GAY
He says he's Bi to convince the world he truly loved Anni and had an attraction to her
The evidence showed he didn't he wouldn't even sleep with her
The Hit job was dodgy why did they let Sherin Go and not Anni when there was no sign of Sexual Assault if it was genuine? Sherin would of been a witness to bring them down!

Okay so Shrian hated Annie but wanted to use her to maintain a good image to the outside world. And Annie loved Shrian after that ring, so there was some materialistic attachment as well. She wanted to marry him, then divorce him instead of just leaving him. If have to ask if she stood to gain half his wealth by doing this? Maybe Shrian found out she was going to leave him and wanted to protect his wealth and his image. proably had a fight in their hotel and anni would have told him that she will divorce after this.
since anni wanted to tell something secret to her parents after honeymoon ( spanish convo - if this is true ) so proable story is she came to know shrein is gay by no sexual interest in honeymoon. she might have even told shrein she will divorce him after this. so he came up with a plan to shot her dead. but again it doesnt add to story since by the evidence he should have planned this before- talking to tango.
so confusing that's why judge ruled out. being this evil doesn't makes sense too.
i hope atleast the divorce settlement needs to be ruled off since we speak of equality and shit. many bitches just marry and divorce with no hesitation since its a win-win situation for them anyways even if the marriage failed. fuck the outdated law when nowadays its all equal. the bitches misuse and take advantage of this law to honeytrap.

Shrien was not the one who wooed her, it was the Christian Dior or whatever brands and diamond ring is what wooed her to her death. Not victim blaming she didnt deserve any of it. But lets accept the fact she fell for materialistic aspects, ignoring all the red flags.

No. She didn't fall for those materialistic things but the efforts of shrien. Initially she liked the idea of being in love but wasn't sure if she was actually in love. That's when shrien pulled out the ring and did extra efforts to convince her. And yes you are victim blaming. She was already wealthy before meeting shrien.

middle class people are more than a little naive, the dude is a millionaire, it doesn't matter to those people about doing what parents want, its all about alliances and money.
he benefited from the marriage and he also benefited from her death, there would be no benefit for him from a divorce... do the maths.

Theory: His family was conservative Hindu, who frowned upon Homosexuality. Shrien knew that he would have to marry a woman to save face in front of the community. They knew their son was Gay, which is probably why his previous engagement broke (the other family probably found out too) Their shifty behavior and the urgency to get Shrien and Anni married tells me so. His own behavior is sus, he was trying too hard to play the perfect (heterosexual) boyfriend with the 💵 gifts and stuff. Very unnatural.
He was controlling and abusive because: 1. He was frustrated for having to suppress his sexuality (he couldn't sleep with men while he was with Anni) and 2. He was scared she was going to find out, expose him and leave him embarrassed among the Hindu community in Britain (who are very judgemental)
His family probably knew their son would do something sus after marrying a woman against his will.

The first picture of them and their wedding looked so beautiful. They both looked attractive but after anni’s death her husband look like he hit the wall. He’s fat and look unattractive now. Anni was so beautiful, I think the family should take this case to the Supreme Court.
