    Hot sauce is a trend? Black, Asian, and Latin cultures have all considered them staples for generations...

    • @fullup91
      @fullup91 4 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      Well considering black people make up only 13% of America, and Tabasco was the wildest hot sauce most Americans experienced prior to this recent boom in spice, I'd say it's a "trend" that's here to stay.

    Halal isn't blessed food. Halal is the slaughtering criteria and cleaning method. The method is called halal not the blessings

    • @KazMaw1
      @KazMaw1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      @Brosephsride it's slaughtered to release all the blood in the animal. This blood has been proven to cause diseases including cancer amongst others.
      It also ensures that the animal doesn't suffer as it's death instantly once the 4 veins or clots or sth are cut off.

    • @fullup91
      @fullup91 4 ปีที่แล้ว +57

      Once the animal is strung up by it's heels, it's neck is sliced. It screams in pain as blood trickles down it's face. Just watch any halal slaughter. It's fucked up.
      No need to make up stupid lies about animal blood causing cancer. Many culture's around the world have thrived from blood sausages and tribes in Africa drink blood mixed with milk.
      Stupid lies about halal.

    • @aclstudios
      @aclstudios 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      That's how trends work though. Something becomes "trendy" when it gains popularity outside its smaller target market. Not something being invented, which typically happens way way earlier.
      Example: Sri racha was only used for a few dishes at Asian restaurants in the USA, if you were lucky enough to see it. Now it's everywhere. I guarantee most black people had not heard of sri racha until rather recently.
      Like the cauliflower thing, not mentioned in its video. It was originally a side dish on its own, or maybe chopped into stir fry etc. It became a trend when people put it in pizza crust, or made "mashed fauxtatoes" out of it.

    Re: Number 7, the thing about "milk." First off, all those alternatives should probably be called juice, but no one would want to drink "soy juice" or "almond juice". Second, almonds take land and a LOT of water to produce, so don't even think it holds a candle to cattle. It takes 1,611 US gallons (6,098 litres) to produce 1 litre of almond milk. Over 80% of the world’s almonds are grown in California, which has been in a severe drought for most of this decade. Think about it.

    Wait, seeing a charcuterie board shows the host put time into doing that? It's literally the least time-demanding thing you can do when hosting a party, short of just telling people "just bring your own shit". Maybe I'm Italian and I just take charcuterie boards for granted but damn how little effort did your typical party involve, lady?

    "Glad my vegan friends can eat food in any city now"
    Bruh, your "vegan friends" have always been able to eat food in any city. What you mean to say is "my vegan friends can now eat food that tastes like meat and dairy made with real meat and dairy products", which drives up the demand for soy which is what's actually causing the slash-and-burn agriculture that leads to natural disasters like the Amazon Rainforest fires.

    • @artemisjr1237
      @artemisjr1237 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are other alternatives to soy. I don't like soy at all. Soy is so icky. Also news flash they have had soy around long before these vegan options were made available. If you don't believe me look at the first ingredient for most sauces, dressings, and mayonaise and you will see soybean oil. They literally try to put it in everything. The vegan/vegetarian options that are made available are a god send for those who want to try new things and not just eat raw veggies all the time. The thing that makes vegetable and meat dishes taste good are spices and textures. It doesn't mean that we want things that taste like meat or dairy we just want flavor and to eat a substantial meal. Just like ok one day you might want a steak another day though you might want to take it up a notch and have a beef wellington. That is all the vegan/vegetarian options are to people like me. I used to eat meat. I turned into a vegetarian 18 years ago. I don't see anything wrong with eating what you choose. To not be selfish and look at the impact you are making on the world is important to me. I also happen to LOVE veggies. When my grandmother stayed with our family she would go out into the garden and make fresh baby food for me so my taste buds became attuned to veggies. Most kids are not this fortunate however and so they have to fight with their parents over eating vegetables. That was not me. As a result I look so much younger than people my age. I am 37 and people think I am in my 20s. People are literally shocked when they hear my age. Not only am I am vegetarian but I also cook my own meals instead of getting take out except once in a while. My husband eats meat and I have cooked him meat here and there but mostly he just loves the vegetarian food that I make. I believe in live and let live. I find that most people just have a hard time with people who are different from them and that is a shame. The vegan/vegetarian options are just a way to give everyone more substantial and yummy food options.

      Most of the soy is produced to feed animals on farms. And you need more soy to feed an animal and get a kilogram of meat than if you ate the kilogram of soy directly.
      And also, theres so much more than salad or "just soy". Lentils, beans, seeds, nuts, grains... And yes because of the trend more places offer vegan options that are not just a plain salad that you have to order "without the animal product" so youre left with lettuce tomato and a cucumber on your plate.
      Source: Poland. Good luck finding a vegan dish that's not what I wrote above in places that didn't jump on the trend (not so big here not counting big cities) or are not vegan restaurants. Easy to see that the trend indeed made more restaurants include vegan options, when you see how it is where the trend didn't reach on such a scale!

    C.B.D. food is bourgeouis, and, subject to popularity, decade-by-decade, but, is not a staple of the food-based market. Investment, if you have a hundred year old business, you are investing in this as a drug, like alcohol, instead of food. I am concerned this inclusion of C.B.D. as a, "Food Trend," is potentially confusing, so, I commend, "Last Pick," Tyrande-Jungle, here, by including this near the end of the list, when lazy investors are not paying much attention. Good Robot.

    I have never understood why vegetarians and vegans don't eat meat, eggs or dairy for "health and environmental reasons" yet can't really give them up. If you don't want meat, eggs or dairy then why do you want to eat a chemically modified version of it even if it's "plant based?" I guess they don't think about the amount of fossil based fuel it takes to produce these things vs just butchering a steer, pig or chicken or gutting and fileting a fish. And just imagine the chemicals needed to make plants taste like beef, pork, chicken and fish. Hypocrisy and elitism at its finest. "I'm saving the planet by eating plants chemically altered in a factory to taste like meat instead of eating actual meat!" Give me a break, I have no respect for these idiots.
