Lots of Top 10's among QB's, a number of Top 5's and Top 3's and a few significant #1's. Got the team through the tough early season when they were dropping balls and undisciplined with lots of penalties, when they were the most injured team in the league for a couple weeks, before the defense was #1 and before CMC joined - lots of issues and challenges to overcome. He still delivered 7-3, with 6 of those wins blowout wins. After CMC joined and meshed with Jimmy's offense, they started the 10-game winning streak with Jimmy's win streak game stats essentially the same as Brock's. He went out injured and handed the fully polished and honed playoff-bound team to Brock on a silver platter. And then we all know the story, Brock came off the bench cold and played remarkably good - and got better and better. This year he started even better yet than in 2022, despite the major injury and major surgery and minimal training camp practice. He's noticeably even better than in 2022. And we still haven't seen the kid's ceiling yet. LET'S GO!!!

That 2019 Wk14 Saints game - Jimmy's best. And absolutely one of the best, most exciting, interesting, amazing games with nail-biter endings in not just 49er but NFL history. If you haven't - you should rewatch it. It's here on YT. The video is nice and sharp, game commentary excellent. Absolute all-time classic game. Drew Brees also at his peak - a major back and forth shootout if there ever was one.
That ACL injury really messed him up. If you look at what he was doing in 2017, he was moving waaaayyyyy better than he did after. He'd probably still be as trigger shy when it came to throwing down the field, but at least he would have had his mobility back.
Though I'll never forget his 56 yard (by air) bomb to Emmanuel Sanders, that he then ran in for a 75 yard TD in the 2019 Wk14 Saints game. Jimmy didn't throw deep often, but he could unleash it when he wanted. I wish he had more confidence and did it more often.
But it wasn't in the end zone... you see what I mean? People don't actually revise shit themselves they just fkn repeat everything they hear or read from others.
@@JLU-pr5fl Haters LIKE to hate. It feels good to them. It actually says more about the hater than the hated. I mean, I saw Joe Montana throw 4 INT's in one game. Jimmy never did that. He said it to USAA on stage in front of 200 people with a mic in his hand and the camera recording. There's no reason to lie about that. The fact that people think it's made up is silly. The fact that people think that he picked the Chiefs to win (he was talking about how he's expecting a high scoring game) means that he's anti 49ers is even sillier. He was asked for a score prediction, made one, and didn't think twice about it. I can't control how people react to a prediction, but he made it. My only regret is that people took it as a chance to talk down on him. I have no reason to lie and would never do that to a player, regardless of how I feel about them. @@bmama125 Don't know. (Don't really care.) I read it on my iPhone in bed a couple days ago before getting up - sort of my morning routine like reading the morning paper in bed before getting up. It was just another article on my Apple News feed, one that didn't require any subscription to open the article. I've been reading Kyle Posey's articles and watched his videos for a long time. He's one of the better 49er reporters. He's got no reason to make this up. It would be totally out of character, based on his history of accurate and unbiased, sometimes even critical, reporting. Obviously, my comment backs up his comment, below. He notes that Jimmy gave a score guess. I don't recall a score, but just that the Chiefs would have a close win. But it's very possible Posey is right and that I just forgot the score given. I did a quick search and found an article, not the exact one that I saw but from the same interview, a CBS News article/interview: "Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo previews Sunday's Super Bowl matchup." The interviewer asks the question but the answer was the same but seems to be edited; the full answer that I heard - him belatedly saying the Chiefs would win in a close game - is cut off. That is indeed weird. I think maybe I saw a different video article of the same interview that was less edited. Or maybe Jimmy asked CBS to redact that statement!
He's still under contract with LV with a $28m in dead cap if he's cut. He'll be on the roster unless they can trade him - LV would probably have to eat some money tho. Either way...Jimmy has done well for himself career-wise.
We got all we could out of Jimmy G. And for him to have a humble attitude at this point is truely good for him, and is a testament to what the 49ers are all about.
Brock would probably never have gotten to show his true talent if trey and jimmy g didn't go down. Brocks gonna thrive in this offense offense and maybe the first of more s.b.
Really good guy... never seems crossed....that injury really changed things for him....and that throw gets pinned on him...but the whole team stopped making plays in that 4th quarter....
Jimmy being a gentleman, despite the idiot trolls pretending to be Niner fans and degrading the work he did here in Ninerland to make this team respectable again.
If the defense had not disappeared against KC and the Rams in the 4th quarter with a lead he would be the QB and Purdy would be somewhere else and Lance never would have been a bad draft pick.
I remember when 49ers was complete garbage before Jimmy G came in late in 2017 - Carried the team and won 5 games in a row, you think thats nothing until you realize they were 1-10 before he started and ended the season at (6-10). He was the difference maker that made 49ers great again. He was unfortunately injured the year after (2018 in game 3 vs KansasCity) and 49ers ended the season at (4-12). Jimmy came back healthy again in 2019 and took the team to the SUPERBOWL. 2020- he was injured again and they didnt even make the playoff. 2021 Jimmy took the team all the way to the championship but lost to the Ram. 2022 he got injured again to which was where Brock Purdy took over. Jimmy G is a solid QB but unfortunately he's so prone to injury. He was never the same since his first injury that took him out for the season. He was traded to the Raiders and now injured again. I hope he can recover and come back strong. I believe with the right coaching staff and a good O line, he absolutely can take a team far.
Never heard anybody say anything bad about Jimmy. Even this year, the Niners teammates have all been very careful not to bash Jimmy in their praise of Brock. Brock even said the best advice Jimmy gave him was how important it is to have a close relationship with the guys. And have their respect
Very likeable guy and leader for the 49ers, and ran the offense efficiently. The biggest problem is he didnt improve instead he kept repeating the same excuses and mistakes year after year. Sure he was accurate with a quick release across the middle but he could not make the layered throws into windows or push it down the field with touch. After the ACL injury he lost whatever pocket quickness he had and regularly got ran down by DLineman. However, the most maddening thing about him was, every game he would throw at least one ball up for grabs at the very worst time. He often made poor decisions on the read or didn't kill a bad play so he could live to fight another down. As a result he was never gonna beat a SB caliber QB, like Mahomes, and he cost way too much ($27m) for mediocre play. Purdy is much better then Garoppolo ever was for 1/27th of the price. Thank you for the years Jimmy but we are in a much better place with Brock.
I hope when Jimmy finally retires, he would retire as a 9er like Jerry Rice. He started the longest with us and helped led us to a superbowl after so many dark age years..
Posey laughing and conversing with Garoppolo like old pals, then turns around and lies saying he called Chiefs to win setting Niners fan base on fire. Damn, wish I had the balls. 😂😂

His NFL career might come into an end soon but dont feel sorry for this guy. He made his millions and he have the good looks so there will always be great job opportunities for him especially on TV. Good looking people always have a great life
Or the Wk14 Saints game earlier that season. His best game - the shootout against Drew Brees, also at his peak. The game with the great 4th and 2 win or lose play at the end - the Jurassic Park Kittle catch and run, with the Tyrannosaurus Rex running downfield with the 3 Velociraptors attacking him and finally getting him down after about 38 yards, 20 of them being flagrantly face-masked - that set us up for the Robbie Gould walk off win by 2 points as the clock ran out. Jimmy was on fire that whole game.
Jimmy has way too many haters. The Niners were at the bottom of a hole when they got him and he made an immediate impact, took us to the Super Bowl, and made us a consistent playoff team, on top of battling several injuries during it all. He deserves nothing but respect.
I really hope for him but the truth is he was alright and got carried by our run game and defense to the superbowl. But if we had brock purdy in the that superbowl in 2019 NO DOUBT WE WIN. The difference now in the superbowl is we finally got a QB. I BELIEVE IN BROCK PURDY
Jimmy got gray fast, man... His ACL really did diminish his pocket mobility and escapibility. I mean he'd still be a dink and dunk QB but he would've fared better in certain high pressure situations, I like to believe. Weirdly enough, he never seemed like the most confident guy on the field although he is so centred and self-assured as a person.
The Raiders is such a classless organization. Jimmy G deserves a better team next year. They benched Jimmy after one bad game against the NFC championship Detroit Lions team who was up 17 points on the niners in the first half.
Jimmy gets way too much shit. He's such a standup dude, took everything on the chin, and didn't complain or talk shit. He tried his best, had some successes, brought niners out into the spotlights again.

JG was good for us. Once he got hurt like he said he wasn't the same. I still keep tabs on his game play to.
Respect to jimmy man 🫶
With that smile, you would think he was in the super bowl. He always has a smile on his face keep smiling jimmy
Good times Jimmy. I’m thankful for the times you brought the Niners 🙌
Jimmy g always be niner fr❤❤❤❤
Jimmy being a gentleman, despite the idiot trolls pretending to be Niner fans and degrading the work he did here in Ninerland to make this team respectable again.
Thanks for everything Jimmy.
Such a professional guy. Of course it helps when you got paid as the highest QB in the league at one point to be grateful like he is
Before the injury, he would go off-script al the time and make it happen. He was a different player afterwards.
I like reading your articles on niner Nation. Keep grinding Kyle🫡
NINER EMPIRE, that nation crap moved to vegas...lol
@@rodturner6759 yeah I know but that's the name of the website he posts articles. I prefer Niner Faithful but that's just me
@@rodturner6759 Your a freakin bandwagoner!!!! Fake ass fan. No true 49ers Faithful bashes that guy. Your a complete joke bro!!! Go 49ers!!!
I know it'll never happen, but it'd be cool to see him return as a backup to Brock if the backup role is where his career is headed at this point.
I will always like Jimmy
Thank you Jimmy G. Time for you to get married and have some beautiful kids
Man, I miss jimmy g, but im glad we have our qb now. Hopefully he gets another chance on another team.
What a handsome man 🧍🏽♂️
We were 💩 before jimmy came……… never forget 🤔 Go Niners!!! 🔥🔥🔥
We are shit when he came, lol
He did us proud thank you jimmy
Let's go Jimmy G.
Bang fucking Bang Niners Empire!
Best backup we ever had.
Well,he is now a raider,ok so is the NFL,wish him all the best🇪🇸👍🏈🏈
Brock is our guy, but I also miss this dude
Jimmy is OG compared to Brock.
I hope when Jimmy finally retires, he would retire as a 9er like Jerry Rice. He started the longest with us and helped led us to a superbowl after so many dark age years..
Good Luck Jimmy....Thank you for a few winning years.....I will cheer for you, unless you are playing against the niners.......
We had some good times with Jimmy…bad times too…but all in all we still love the guy and he’s a Niner for life ❤️
He’s available next season
Posey laughing and conversing with Garoppolo like old pals, then turns around and lies saying he called Chiefs to win setting Niners fan base on fire. Damn, wish I had the balls. 😂😂
As I replied above for the same comment, I'll copy and paste here... No lie. I'm a huge Jimmy fan (see my comment, above), but I saw the press conference (video). Jimmy did say, when pressed, that he thought the Chiefs would edge the win. He didn't give a score or anything. He even joked before he said it that 9er fans are going to hate me for saying... (with his usual big smile). I was a little upset. Before that (I'm reporting everything in reverse!) he had said how he has good friends on both teams. The way he said it wasn't at all like a revenge statement or anything and it wasn't an immediate reply. He thought about it and I got the sense that it wasn't set in concrete. It seemed like an authentic, I'm not sure but I think... kind of response. 49er Faithful should be a bit disappointed (I am) but I'm not angry or hating Jimmy for it. He had great things to say about Brock. (Not on the Cam Newton side of the "debate," which isn't really a debate at all - Brock was the BEST QB in the league in 2023 and the numbers show it - period.) But those that hate Jimmy will definitely hate him more now! That's just the way it goes.
very good looking and nice heart ❤
Always liked Jimmy and still do.
Jimmy was great for the niners come on remember when we sucked ss then we went 5_0
His NFL career might come into an end soon but dont feel sorry for this guy. He made his millions and he have the good looks so there will always be great job opportunities for him especially on TV. Good looking people always have a great life
🤝 San Francisco 49 ers 🏆🏈
❤❤❤
Don't hate him but so happy we moved on from him
Knew it was gonna be that Green Bay game lol
Or the Wk14 Saints game earlier that season. His best game - the shootout against Drew Brees, also at his peak. The game with the great 4th and 2 win or lose play at the end - the Jurassic Park Kittle catch and run, with the Tyrannosaurus Rex running downfield with the 3 Velociraptors attacking him and finally getting him down after about 38 yards, 20 of them being flagrantly face-masked - that set us up for the Robbie Gould walk off win by 2 points as the clock ran out. Jimmy was on fire that whole game.
JIMMY G IS A LEGEND!
Jimmy has way too many haters. The Niners were at the bottom of a hole when they got him and he made an immediate impact, took us to the Super Bowl, and made us a
consistent playoff team, on top of battling several injuries during it all.
People were bashing him for Brock. Brock didn't get it done..
Jimmy was never a great QB here in SF but he comes off as a humble dude and I hope he succeeds wherever he ends up.
The Raiders is such a classless organization. Jimmy G deserves a better team next year. They benched Jimmy after one bad game against the NFC championship Detroit Lions team who was up 17 points on the niners in the first half.
looks like he aged 5 years w the raiders wtf
He's cool though
I don’t know why they show Jimmy with 49rs. They really didn’t appreciate what he did for the team. Show what he is doing now.
Jimmy gets way too much shit. He's such a standup dude, took everything on the chin, and didn't complain or talk shit. He tried his best, had some successes, brought niners out into the spotlights again.
Doesn’t jimmy have like 3 rings with patriots by just sitting on the bench lol
At least he got rings lol
