I absolutely adore this song. I also can relate to it with my experience of toxic friendship in middle school that I was stuck in and couldn't cut it off for 4 years. I absolutely hated it all, I hated school, I hated that person who used to be my best friend, I hated my parents who didn't let me to change my school, I hated my teachers and classmates that ignored the whole thing. I was so fed up with this whole shitstorm that was happening in my life that I almost offed myself when I was 13. It eventually got better since they change the school because of some conflict with our Russian language and literature teacher. But recently I found out that that person who tormented me for 4 years is working at my town's elementary school as a teacher... All I can say is I feel sorry for those kids.
I hope you have healed from that I glad you didn't off yourself I went through something similar but my mom took me out of the school before it got worse so I understand how you must've felt I will never understand how people treat other people like shit and not care 😢
@@makaylarender4795 I'm also glad that I didn't finish my attempt back then. I still suffer from that experience, I wasn't very talkative and extroverted person in the first place but now I became straight up hermit that only goes out to get to my university for classes or to store near by (just because of the news of my tormentor working in my town that they don't even live in kinda shook me to the core). I probably should consider therapy and I've been thinking about it for quite a few years by now but I'm a broke ass student so I guess it has to wait until I get a job.

this was my top song on my spotify wrapped and i'm so happy about it. ever since she released the snippet of it i knew that i needed this song years ago. this song means the absolute world to me. crying and screaming this at the top of my lungs at the concert was the most therapeutic thing i've ever done. this song was so so so healing for me. i'm so grateful for melanie and their creation of this song.

What i was not expecting was that i'd cry a little while watching this??? I think it's because it's just really nice to see a man in an older geration than myself showing genuine appreciation for a femme musician, especially a pop one who largely appeals to younger generations. And youre taking her and her experiences seriously?! Unheard of.

Oh, I feel this song in my CHROMOSOMES. On a deeply fundamental level, this song encapsulates so much for me. It provides an outlet to eons of women's trauma and releases it a flurry of musical EXHALE.
This song speaks to me in a little different way - I relate to it because I can see the parallels with my relationship with my toxic parents and how they never listened to me or gave me any encouragement or anything. I too "took to long to put this to bed."
Literally same with my mom. I'm 17 now, just cut her out of my life almost completely, and I think I'm already healing, it's still so hard every day, but Ik I have a brighter future to look to that's waiting for me

I love 'Evil' ! And I relate to it, not in a couple way but I stayed for a long time with fake friends because I was afraid but now I leaved them and I feel so much better with my new friends who understands me and don't use me

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG. Melanie has made my life so much more connected to earth musically, especially because I find connection with her music. The part in this song were she sings, "Everything I expressed, I professed, it never quite made it through, said it's all in my head, all in my head, whenever I spoke my truth," reminds me of my dad and his family saying that I have mental problems and saying nonsense (as in me being trans, omni, and asexual.) just because of my mom/dad and stepdad when it's CLEARLY them. Etc... I'm not trying to bore you with my non-stop-blabbing rant of a mouth but yeah.

Trauma dumping time; My mother is one and I left her a few years ago, because she's so toxic and my friends, relatives and my family who are not directly related to her do not get it at all... ALL OF THEM always tell me 'but she is your mother, she loves you. how can youjust do that? you two should talk it out soon' *barfff*. Feels so validating to hear a therapist say it!!!!

This song put into words everything I felt about two people from the past. One literally called me Evil and said the devil "took me from them" when I finally stood up for myself against them. This song is amazing but it is so so real and I'm so happy to have a song to relate to that is empowering and not sad

I say things to you and I listen to You. But the one good thing is if ever I needed. I'm able to texture. She's my therapist and my R in psychiatric nurse which can prescribe for me in all the medicine I'm taking is really stinks. I don't know if I told you I'm bipolar. And AD HD and I'm lucky. I know what my name i I hide behind humor because I don't want people to know a lot. And I feel bad when someone asks me a question. I hear them but I can't remember what they said.
