watson and creek did actually decript the molecular structure of DNA which was a world changing thing and not espeically brilliant but nobel winning... Frankling did very hard work that imaged a helix structure, which was also nobel winning, and the should have won it all three. The nobel kindof sucks because it is pop-science and doesn't look at a problem as a complex teamwork but as the scientist that did the final leap.

Franklin's assistant very dishonestly defended undermining her. Probably good to get a job with Watson & Crick, or at least recognition. Science history doesn't look kindly upon such absconders.

Seven Nobel Prizes were awarded for work directly relating to S N Bose's research and results. Franklin, a woman, and Bose, an Indian, were likely devalued for not being white, European men. Controversial, but true considering that sexism and racism were the "norm" during most of the 20th century. Thankfully time and common sense have improved the standing and lot of women and people of colour. Truly smart folk operating at the levels of these two are rare. I'm grateful that the doors of opportunity are open to more, now.

The big difference between men and women is that when it comes to acts of over all geniuses men do not need women to accomplish amazing inventions discoveries cures for diseases etc women could never have built the modern world just by themselves but men can and have done it all and have never needed the help of women and this modern feminist push for women equal rights is actually damaging to society women have a nauseating habit of vastly over rating themselves and let me give you just one example of how ruinous feminist equality is Birmingham city council has become bankrupt because of the deluded hostile rampant anti male doctrine of feminism i should know i was the union boss of the binmen who were the sacrificial lambs slaughtered on the altar of feminism that has resulted in bankruptcy and finally all women is go on about is being the equals of men yet men aspire to up there with the gods we split the atom put a man on the moon Beethoven and so much else that has benefited everyone on this planet yet we are hated and despised for doing these things resentful hateful jealousy that what lies at the heart of these sentiments the fact is she had ample opportunity to recognize what Crick and Watson saw and she failed! i often wonder why one of the greatest geniuses that ever lived never bothered with women but you will have to guess that one! ha ha

Its so sad but this was a general trend. This happened to most women scientists because the society didn’t want educated women contributing to science which was primarily seen as fit only for men. Just imagine how much the society would have been advanced if the other half(women) was allowed education. After 1600s let's say 1-10% women were allowed in science but imagine if from 1000 AD women were encouraged to study.
The thing that happened with Rosalind Franklin also happened with the Great Marie Curie. However, Curie did see herself getting recongonised within her lifetime.

A much better choice for an overlooked scientist than Franklin!
The problem there, as in many other cases, is that there were more than 3 people who each contributed something unique and indispensable to the discovery. She was just one of them. She was not the only one who didn't get a Nobel Prize for that discovery. The others were men.

Controversy is mostly about her work being shared without her consent as Watson/Crick were unlikely to discover the structure without Photo 51. Watson himself admitted to it in his book. The electron is a high-amplitude bipolar stationary wave, i.e. consisting of two diametrically opposite half-waves, which rotates (propagates) with the speed C/137 (m/s), on the circle of the electron's radius. The high-amplitude bipolar wave is born from the constructive interference of the 9 billion component waves of the electronic gamma photon, which appeared at the annihilation of the electron with the positron, after the contraction 137 times and their refraction at 360 degrees. The bipolar structure of the electron is faithfully reflected by the figure that appears on the screen of the test tube, in the Shtern-Gerlack experiment.
