Happy sailing! ⛵️💙
I love the way all your videos are straight to the point. No pointless "padding" that you see all over instructional videos in youtube
Nice chance to see how we can lift the anchor on sails.. Nice video!!
Thank you for this videos with all that clear explanations and the demonstration of the important details. Thanks for your efforts!
An excellent, very thorough video. Explanations were comprehensive enough to ensure clear understanding but short enough to be memorable.
Really can't fault this, would recommend this to anybody as a training video 😊⚓
Great video, thanks a lot! And keep it up
Excellent! Such important information! I really appreciate your channel!
Thank you!
Interesting video. We actually had an engine failure last night inside tight busy harbor. No anchor (old race boat). 12knts/Gusting 20knts. Learning experience.
Good job once again for your channel! Happened to me a couple of times in single hand delivery on 7-8bft with engine failure, fuel filter and fuel hose cause of dirty fuel tanks. I did use two lines from the bow through the middle cleat both port and starboard as preventers thigh on the boom this way I managed to trim the main sail so the boat started to move backwards more efficiently, first time was to just anchor and in a second event med moor in Mykonos.
Nice video!
Any comment if there's usefulness in placing an anchor buoy to mark the anchor place?
Also, ColRegs and CEVNI says that a black ball should be exhibited during the day when anchored/stationary. Is it done in practice on yachts in your area? Thank you.
About the anchor ball, yes is good to follow the rules.
About the anchor buoy I cannot imagine more useless and problematic practice for the Greek waters.
Καλημέρα. Καλά να την ρίξεις την άγκυρα χωρίς εργάτη αλλά μετά πώς θα την σηκώσεις;
Υπάρχουν πολλοί τρόποι. Με τα χέρια αν είστε χειροδύναμοι, με μια σκυλα στην αλυσίδα και το βιντζιρελο, με το μανταρι του μπαλονιού αν και δεν το συστήνω
The idea of dropping the anchor with sails and manually is to find a shelter and get the boat there until you repair the damage, so you can continue the usual trip.
That specific windlass you see on the video, has a manually turning wheel from the port side and I can use the lever to winch the chain. Other ways as Captain Yannis Kariotakis mentioned.
@sailingmimosa7160 I have to say that the Greek terminology-new to this- is killing me.
