One of the more simple designs for DIY fans. If the stands are going to be tall, the speakers will have to be small. Otherwise, some way must be found to make the base heavy / large, to prevent it keeling over by accident.

couple tips: don't put screws into end-grain. second, this design is not stable. The bottom plate should be much wider so the top-heavy unit (speaker + stand) won't tip over so easily.

Very good tips indeed, thank you. I did screwed the end grain, thinking that in a small project as it is, this stand would be more forgiving.
The bottom plate could have been wider indeed for more stability, but i just wanted to have a small footprint, the stands are actually quete stable with the speakers on

Why no screw in the end grain? End-grain is the top edge of the plank?

The original designer has been credited in the video and description. The original design has been modified, there is no copyright needed and the speaker stand is not copyrighted in the first place, it is coming from another DIYer, who has been credited for it and link has been provided to his video.
