    This episode left me feeling a bit annoyed. Not at the bride and her family, they were great. But actually with Emanuel. The positive is that they stayed within her budget, by half actually. The annoying part is that I've seen clips with brides with budgets that would allow for dresses like the ones tried on, but Emanuel has said something along the lines of not being able to find princess style with sparkle at their £2K budgets, yet here they are finding them for this bride. Also, what he said about what the bride was describing not exising, is ridiculous.
    I liked the dress she finally chose, but I preferred the one that had the sparkle on the bodice, with the plain skirt, but that's down to personal taste.

    This episode made me sad for the bride. It was all about how much her mom loved the dress. She didn’t look happy at all. She’s going to look back on her wedding pictures and see her mom’s beautiful choice…not hers. She's been married long enough now that she has at least 2, maybe 3, children. These are all old episodes, nothing new having been made in several years, despite the lies of "new" being put on the thumbnail.
      The show's producers are the ones who demand the "drama," not the brides and their entourages. More lies, as all of "reality" tv demands, in order to increase viewership and ratings.

    The staged drama is ridiculous. Kim is "almost thinking" that a sparkly top with princess bottom might nail it - what a surprise! Kayleigh has a beautiful figure and the budget is high. This shop has hundreds of gowns; Kim (& David) ought to be able to bring Kayleigh at least 5 or 6 dresses that meet this criteria compromise.

    • @jb6712
      @jb6712 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The show's producers are the ones who demand the drama, to the point that they force the participants to up their "disagreements" and "doubts" so it makes for better viewing.
      This, like nearly all of them, is an old episode, notwithstanding the lie of "new" being in the thumbnail.

    • @jujujewel2172
      @jujujewel2172 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, SO staged, am sure they pick them out, and decide on the main ones contenders, beforehand too, too much time otherwise. Maybe 2 opposing styles and a spare of one that's not gonna be a fave, but maybe some elements of the main for a build up to "the perfect dress" [choice]
      And also a "dress that may not exist" ?? LoL, AS IF!! It beggars belief, (as the English say!) Im from Aussie but this saying has always made me curious... now I understand - something incredulous, which in my head I can hear him say with his inflections... like he knows ppl will find it "incredulous" of him, with all these dresses, much less "non existent," but has to go along with it, for the (stale??) MANUFACTURED dram
      And how many times does she say worried about "being swallowed" by the big dress throughout... it could be one of those drinking games!!? :P

    As someone who is petite, I chose an a-line gown, because it didn't swallow me up like a traditional ball gown. I had a lot of the same concerns as this bride with a dress overpowering me. The first dress was more along the lines of an a-line style and really elongated her and made her look tall. It also went really well with her venue.The dress she chose swallowed her and actually made her look shorter and cut off her torso. This is when I feel like randy should show up and explain the designs of the dress and how they work for or against the bride's vision or interests. But, as long as the bride is happy with her choice, that's all that matters.

    She actually got married wearing the dress she picked here (or a dress that is identical in style but more of shiny ruffles) and looked gorgeous, I like Mom and understand that people feel happy in different ways and if the bride's happiness is completed when her mom is happy too, so be it. I know that when I get married I want my mom to feel happy with my choice too, because I love her so much and she is part of every day of my life, so I want her to feel at least that she likes mine and thinks I am beautiful in it, it is not a matter of my mom being controlling or me being week, it is just love and appreciation manifested in a simple way as a dress compromise.

    They were all pretty in their own way, but I don’t think that the bride truly wanted to say yes to any of them. Pity. She’s beautiful and has a generous dress budget. I just think that there were better choices somewhere, though perhaps not in this bridal salon.

    Less is often more…. The first dress was very elegant and was a standout on her , unfortunately you can’t account for someone’s personal taste, how many brides look back on their choice of wedding dress and say “ what was l thinking !” …..good taste often comes with maturity….what we once loved we wouldn’t look even look at now….

      I think overdoing it with your clothes/accessories can sometimes take away from your own beauty. A dress with lots of bling, detailing, ruffles, volume, a veil and jewelry can definitely overshadow you.

    With the bride being so petite, why didn’t anyone suggest a halter neckline or something to elongate her? Those sweetheart necklines were not flattering on her and seemed to chop her in half.

    I actually like the mom and bestie here. Not everyone will be in love with the bride's vision, but they were kind. Even though Mom wasn't into mermaid silhouettes, her focus was on how much she knew her daughter had talked about wanting sparkle and bling. It seems common to at least try on one entourage pick and the bride fell in love with how she felt.

    The dress she chose was nice, but I don't think it was a "WOW!" dress. It is nice that it was so under budget, but I wonder if they had something closer to the top of the budget (or even middle of the budget) that would have had the"WOW!" factor. 🤔

    • @kitarrah1422
      @kitarrah1422 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Sheryl Covington yes, I know, but they were all going on about how they needed a "WOW!" dress with bling everywhere, even on the skirt. I'm just curious what the dresses were like that were a bit more expensive. Would they have been more sparkly and would there have been sparkle in the skirt too? I'm curious why the consultants didn't show the more expensive dresses to them, since they could afford it. *shrug

    • @kitarrah1422
      @kitarrah1422 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sheryl Covington I understand. I do appreciate that it was well under budget and she loved it. I just would really like to see what the more expensive dresses would look like, too. I hope she continued to love the dress she chose. Some brides choose one and then change their minds later. I was (briefly) a bridal consultant at a small shop. The stories of brides, bridesmaids, and prom goers changing their minds were jaw dropping. I didn't work there long, but it was pretty brutal. And those dresses are HEAVY!

      Mom's input was up to £4000-5000 ($5400-6765US) so she is allowed to give her input. If a bride does not want parental input, she should save and pay for her own dress. I paid for mine and appreciated my mom helping to choose it.

    Did SHE say yes to that dress thought? She was so looking for her mother's approval, that when she got it, that was her deciding factor, not what SHE would have chosen without mum's input. I hope she doesn't feel negatively towards this dress later on. As someone else said in this comments section, I feel a bit sad for this bride.

    I was a little disappointed in this episode with David. Usually they go over budget for this kind of gown when brides are asked for their dream dress and budget. On this occasion he has plenty to play with yet is over £3k under - very odd.
    He's not taken on board the bride's wishes, yet focused more on her mother.
    He could quite easily have put her in a sparkly fishtail with more of a tulle bottom, still giving her the princess look but pleasing both daughter and mother.
    This show is becoming far to staged and losing It's integrity.
    I'm sure she looked beautiful on the day, no matter what she wore.

    The final dress was such a poor fit it was difficult to tell how it would look but a lot of these sparkly dresses with cheap ‘crystals’ look so rigid they do nothing for the bride. The first dress was softer and elegant and had a wow about it.

    Since when do ballgowns swallow you if they are in your size? I am a 32 or an American 0 on top and I bought a ballgown cause it accentuates the small figure and waist up top but gives you some movement in the skirt! It’s absolutely perfect on petite girls 👌
