      If you are a rock person you will need no help keeping your interest, through military and then contractual obligations I took a break for over twenty years, I'm just as interested now as I was aged eight, the only downside for me is being in England, almost no hounding areas, fossils yes and flint but that's about it.

You dont skip over to the good parts, you poke around in nature and thats a great feeling and i love myself to just be out and explore. Some of the best surprises are not in the plan when out exploring. Taking water with me is a good idea. Even an empty container that I can fill up in a puddle. I have tried to show rocks later and it is a job (and a half) to match up clean rocks later with the ones found in a video. I have a great deal still to learn. Thanks for the tip.

    Zircon or Titanite, lets start a fight! My 1 €-cent on a bet: at min 3.00 this is a very typical Zircon, because of
    crystal form and color. I won. The twin-crystal at min 21.00 is Titanite or Sphen called in Europe. This minerals
    develop in different environments. 0ne more €-cent. Because of color und the typical twin-appearance, called "envelope ". Proof from any mineralogical institute if you take my bet and not the meaning from an amateur club.

    Too much camera movement to focus on anything, and when it is still, the bright flashlight overwhelms the camera. No joy when that stuff is going on, but the rest is great! One more thing though, you might consider bringing along some spray bottles of water on your digs. It's much more interesting for your audience when everything does not look like a dirt clod. Just a suggestion. Happy digging!

    i hate you Me Miner (lol), you find so many good things. i wish i still lived in Oregon, i learn at least 50% of what i know about rockhounding from your videos, i live in SoCal where there is not much places to go for rockhounding, i live where they have 3 quarries that have a abundance of minerals in riverside CA. but they are all private land, i did find some blue calcite outside of 1 of the quarries. most of the places out here are paid sites, don't like the paid site it's not the same as finding gems on your own.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also avoid the paid sites, except the ones where there is a token access fee. You should check out the maps on mindat.org to see if there is something in your area that you are unaware or join a local rock and mineral club that organizes field trips. You are a good guy not sneaking onto private land. The good news is asking the owner can sometimes give you permission. I have found that most appreciate being asked. The problem for me is they usually don't want any video of the site as the next 10 guys won't ask.
