- I spend a lot of time on Google Earth searching for abandoned structures. I seen this large building so I had to mark it on my map and take a closer look. This structure was designed to be completely offgrid a Self-Sufficient home. It was built in 1985 by a very smart man. He had great vision and ideas for the amazing structure. The walls are 1 foot thick, 4000psi of reinforced concrete tied into the granite bedrock. It was secured into the bedrock with dowel pins every 5 feet. The owner/builder said nothing would move this house not even an atomic blast. He said it was built like the pyramids to last forever. Sadly he passed away and the house was not finished. I hope one day someone will finish this house and enjoy the nature surrounding this place.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

@@AbandonedUrbexCanada wonderful.
How can something built in 1985 be abandoned for over 40 years?
OMG you're from the future!
@@michaelwhite2823I later realized it was built in 1985 not 1982
@@michaelwhite2823 lol
@@michaelwhite282339, 40, big deal lol
Awesome find. He said an atomic bomb couldn't penetrate it, but ironically mother nature claimed it. Great drone footage.
I wonder how it would be finished and maintained.
Mother Nature hasn’t reclaimed it yet, they are coexisting, that concrete will probably last a couple of centuries
So sad that he couldn’t finish his dream home. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place.
I went down the rabbit-hole on the owner of this one a few years ago. What a life. Rich and poor many times and finally made it huge right before his death.
What's his name? Sounds like an interesting guy.
Yes please share a name I'd love to learn the story.
Might have the wrong guy
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada
There a general reason for the gatekeeping, Brent? Why can't we know the name of this person? Why's it such a secret?
I try to protect the places I explore, if I give out a name it would give out the location. Within days the place would be covered in graffiti and destroyed
What an amazing discovery, Brent! I explore vicariously through your work, thank you for sharing!
Would absolutely love a follow-up video to this one Brent - if you locate any drawings - likely hand drawn! Would love to hear more of that interview as well! Great explore! Keep them coming!
For sure! Still working on getting the drawings if there is any. Town is looking into it for me
Pics with the original owner taken in 1985, a year after I graduated high school. The drone shot going from ground level up through the stairwell was awesome!!! I would love to have seen this place finished.
I would love to see the original architects plans of this place, the concept is so cool.
Me too, still working on it
What an incredible find. This man had his own vision for a home, sad he died before it was completed. Really Really seculded spot, luv it!!! So glad you hiked back in and located it! You brought us a great explore and the drone fly over gives perspective on the scale of this place. Thank you, Thank you for all of the leg work, filming, and editing to share this explore with us. You Always keep us coming back for more!!!💥💯💥💯
Thank you! I really enjoyed this one. Might have to do an overnight there 👌🏻
Your videos and content are among my very favorites. You don't just record an abandoned place, you give it back it purpose and identity. Even if for just a little while. You do your homework ! You are awesome my friend ! ❤ 🙏
This is beyond awesome! But I have to admit: I spent quite a bit of the video looking out for that bear!
Kinda like the other round structure, wasn't it a rotating structure.
Incredible... Wow 🤩👌
They had a vision...
Wonder what happened to the original owner's family and why the property was left behind.
Good job
I always like photos from the history that you put there. It's a shame that more is not known about the building and the owner, why he built it and who owns the land now. Thank you
My Dad would have loved this. He was a mechanical engineer who loved underground and self sustaining sructures. I would love to have a place like this and to have those views. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤
Looks like a WWII bunker, I can't imagine how it might have looked finished and furnished. Love the drone footage
Esso Esclad insulation; perfect for keeping out wind, rain and cold air but buyer beware it will NOT stop a bear. Excellent find Brent. Have missed your company on here this past Summer, hope all is well my Friend.
The wall you walk out on is probably meant to function as a thermal heat storage, google earth-house, there they have a heart wall that is heated by the sun during the day to emit the heat at night into the house, the pipes you see in the ground floor can even be intended to circulate the air from the heating battery out into the house, 20:30 into the movie you pass that "room", it is south facing?
It was probably intended as a greenhouse to be able to grow your own vegetables and provide heat to the house.
What an incredibly nice house this could be
Nicely filmed
That’s an interesting one. Would like to know what Possessed him to build such an elaborate concrete structure.
What a bizarre and unique building. You sure know how to find these places Brent. Radar!! Haha!Patio furniture on the top. Railing, outdoor barbecue, big enclosed sunroom ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi and Hurrah !!
Missed you - so xcited when I saw you had posted.
How u dwin ? We 🇬🇧 are in the midst of a heatwave and I'm all heatwaved out !!
I really enjoyed the post because it was so unusual and so far removed from your usual posts.
I wonder what happened to these people and their dreams.
Bear claw marks made me shiver please be safe .
I liked the open circular viewing platform but as usual as you wandered round the clues got more and more
confusing .
Dont give up your explores I look forward to your work as I am now more or less stuck indoors with spinal probs and you keep me entertained !
Stay safe Brent and keep xplorin !
Janice 🇬🇧 xxx7
Thank you Janice!
Love the music you have for this video ❤
Thanks!
Would have just loved to see it completed. It did have a military theme to it. It is a shame no one in the family could have seen it through to completion. Gotta love those drone shots. Thanks for taking us there, Brent.
Thanks Laura!
Congratulations on 150K Subscribers!
I enjoy watching your videos :)
Thank you!
I could see one of the outside areas being a large greenhouse
I would love to live there. It's sad that the owner couldn't finish his dream.
What a find Brent. I’d love to know how he got all the materials in. Hope to seeya soon!
Among the coolest urbex spots I have ever seen! Bravo!
Wow, thanks!
Hellooo Brent! Since I’ve been subscribed for at least a decade (another older account), it felt as if I’d seen this before. The other similar structure I don’t think had the same water view or access to it. Too bad it didn’t get finished. Amazing find….👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
I thought this building looked familiar too. I think he did another round, cement building some time ago.
What a great explore! And a beautiful lake! Great drone footage. As soon as you saw those bear claw scratches I googled "what are the gun laws in Canada?" Lol Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Another great video. So sad that it was never completed .Thanks for sharing
This is a great place and is in a very remote area to bad it
never got finished but glad you found it and got the chance
to explore it thanks for the video and Thank You.👋🇨🇦
Cool, thanks
Got'a wonder how they got all that concrete up there?
Has to be a road
Used to be a driveway
Pump trucks
It's so sad to see it's not finished. I can imagine the great times they would have had there. I know i would have ❤
This was awesome would love more history on it great Video thank you
17:37 I bet that was going to be a solar greenhouse capable of growing food all year round.
Probably correct
I bet this place would’ve been amazing had he lived long enough to complete it. So sad he didn’t.
Cool. I just wonder what would happen if you fell and got hurt. All alone, no cell coverage, no one around. Freaks me out thinking about it. I hope you tell someone where you're going and to call the police if they don't hear from you by a certain time. But amazing video! Be safe.
I send my location when alone, just in case I don’t return 👌🏻
Amazing! The amount of time, effort and money to go that far with the structure. Only to have it be slowly reclaimed by nature and weather. Thankyou for sharing your hiking adventure with the rest of us!!.
Interesting place, glad the bear was elsewhere when you were there. Definately not my style of home but, im sure the owner was very proud of it. Thanks for sharing
I don't know how you can walk up those stairs and look over the edge. I couldn't.
Brent fantastic video,,thank you for all your hard work take care of yourself😊
Loved your drone shots and the music that accompanied it.
Thanks I appreciate it
Awesome find that is a nice veiw
NATURE reclaims everything with enough time !!!!
Cool!!
Very intriguing! Love it! Great video❤
Thats the most amazing find you've found wow it would be awesome to see the plans what he wanted it to all look like thank you for sharing your videos with us so amazing have a blessed day
Oh Brent❤🎉❤❤❤ LOVED EVERYTHING about this fabulous & interesting explore...even the mystery...THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of your hard work, and diligence to provide the BERY best films for us. You ate so loved and cared about❤ Long time subscriber, elderly, with many health issues. Touring and exploring your lovely country, Canada, alongside you brings me such joy!! GOD BLESS you young man, and keep you healthy and safe❤🤗🙏🏻
Thanks so much Linda! You are very kind 😃
Hello Brent
Who it was so cool I loved it you must have had fun 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️😺😺😺👋👋👋
Love your channel Brent as you always manage to come up with something different - that place was incredible, or would have been if finished. Great explore and super drone footage ! Gill 🇬🇧
Thanks Gill! Glad you enjoyed it 👌🏻
What a place that could have been Brent!
Hi Brent
What a cool house or mansion. It’s very secluded there and to know there are bears
there I wouldn’t want to live there. I always thought round houses were called
YURTS. Made all of concrete. It’s a shame they never finished. Probably would
have been like a palace in the middle of the woods. This was a great one Brent.
Thank you so much for showing us around today. By the way the drone footage
was beautiful. The lake was cool too. Stay safe and well.🛖👍🆒
Thanks so much Irene, glad you enjoyed it 👌🏻
That was another great explore. From the pictures of the owners it looked like the trees weren’t that tall in 1985 so they probably had a great view of the lake. There must have been some way they got all that concrete and supplies in there. Brent it was scary you traversing those stairs. Thank you for a great video❤️😊
Thank you!
I try all the time to find some off road places on google maps, can't count how many hours I've searched with little to no luck. I wish i knew where you found all these incredible places so i could visit some near me.
Just look for the overgrown ones 👍🏻
What a beautiful spot.Nature wise it reminds me of my homeland,Finland. That spiral staircase looked deadly.Thank you for posting.Greetings from UK
It seems so relaxing when you got to the first platform, with the forest and wind
Cant see the lake. The lake is huge
Im really enjoying this video
If it was finished more people might be living on that lake
YAY!! Happy long-weekend, Brent!
Have a great weekend!
Brent, the respect you show these places is awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
So Amazing! I Loved this video!
Now Im heading down the rabbit hole of who was the builder of this masterpiece! Thanks Josh!! 💖🙏
How?!? I have tried googling and have found absolutely nothing
Time I am, the destroyer of all things (material). So much so being indestructible, even the bears are scratching it away. Great video!
Thank you!
Beautiful view thanks for sharing have a lovely weekend
Brent, this was amazing to watch. As are all your videos. Keep going with the fantastic videos.
Hello Brent ! That's a real strange find .
This was an amazing find and great video. You keep finding great places. Thanks again Brent.
Awesome thanks!
You can't say that this property will be demolished by developers.
Man don't get yourself hurt, and if you don't get bug repellent then get yourself some centrella and mix it with oil .
The beauty about places like this is, you get to imagine what it was suppose to look like, what it might have been like and what it is now, ..Why would anyone want to build there?,..why not?, if you have the means to do so and the desire to make it happen, go for it...Too bad this one didn't make it into fruition...it would of been epic, but for whatever reason, besides the obvious financial reason. Maybe the dream was bigger than the wallet...possibly?...either way THIS was an epic find! THANK YOU for taking my imagination on another journey into the past.👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
What a truly unique place. The drone footage is amazing. How great it would have been to see an artists impression of the finished building. So sad that all that work came to a halt, though it's still a terrific construction.
Cool place bro…great video!!! But this guy a Ko-Fi too will ya lol 😊👍🏻
Thanks buddy ✌🏻
Those metal steps were giving me bad anxiety. I was so worried for your safety. Of course you wouldn't be showing this if you died. Not good that the cell service was bad. Thank you for all you do to film these episodes for us!
Thanks Brent! You find the best places! Mother Nature retakes what we take out. Stay safe out there!
Thank you
Imagine what the views would have been like 50 years ago, with out all the over growth
this place is Awesome! sad it never was finished. would be Kewl if someone bought the property, found blueprints for the place, and did finish it out. if I had that kind of money, that's what I would do, but I would leave all the trees obscuring it from sight. tho that would make it hard to get supplies and equipment in for the job, but I like that its mostly hidden 😀👍
Your always finding the most awesome places to explore!
👍🏻
Great vlog. Thanks.
Since there was no refrigerator, I expected you to open the blue barrel!! Thanks for a great video and for goodness sake, take some bear spray or a hand gun with you. Nothing scares me more than bears and sharks!!
It's interesting how quickly modern structures decay compared to structures built during Roman times, etc.
Loved this one , hope you never ran into a bear scary
Thank you!
Another banger Brent keep them coming !!! Always enjoy your journey of exploring Canada yea
Thank you very much!
I'm shared of heigths and spiralsteers and bears! This explore is like my wurst nightmare😮
This is awesome place. 18:04 that looks like big summer room/roofed terrace area and are next to right could be carage.
Great drone shots ❤
Kinda sad ... Died before his vision could be realized. Really cool tho
Fascinating find.🍻
Beautiful
Wow This is so awesome. Thank You Brent. If I were you I sure wouldn't go there again without bear spray at the least. Yikes! Be careful
Nice place Tank you friends
Great find!
Thanks!
I found your channel today!! I'm addicted, I'm going to do a marathon

Glad you found me!
That’s epic
Amazing as usual
👍🏻thanks
Great exploration
How did get concrete there is close to a town ,it looks impressive,I would say that the concrete channel is for water heating ,I from New Zealand so we are young country, great content cheers
amazing find!
Where can we find that interview you played in the beginning of the video?
Thanks awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
All these "modern - conceptual" and other epithets, which on paper looked very spectacular and beautiful, is extremely expensive in construction in real life, very uncomfortable in everyday life and inexpressibly expensive in operation, of course, if they are in line, or then As a rule, even to complete the money is not enough ...

A small deaf corridor is similar to an emergency evacuation system in a bomb shelter ...
you should tell Exploring With Angelo where this is cause hes from Canada
Trying to figure out what that wall was for, perhaps a wooden roof and glass wall on the other side but was never completed, wood be great to see the plans
