  • A mother shares her story of losing her 19 year old son to fentanyl poisoning.
After losing her 19 year old son, Cameron, to fentanyl poisoning, Becky felt the urgency to warn others of this dangerous drug. She has taken the pain of losing her son and has turned it into a passion for raising awareness about the dangers of fentanyl through her non-profit organization, A Change For Cam. Becky’s journey has taken her to DEA Headquarters in our Nation's Capital, the Texas Capitol as well as schools, communities, and organizations across the state of Texas, all in an effort to help save lives. If you’d like to know more, please visit www.AChangeForCam.org.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

I just lost my boyfriend of 5 years to the same thing. I was pregnant and lost the baby 2 months after he passed also his mom had passed a year before him from Lupus. We were so excited for the baby I was in nursing school we had just got a house. We were so so happy I hadn’t seen him so happy after losing his mom. And he was just gone I quit school and work. I used the last of our money to get his car and I barely started using it after sitting for 3 months. But I’m finally trying to get myself together after this nightmare. I can’t function and don’t have much family money or help but I’ll figure it out soon 🖤 I am so sorry I just want to hug you. The pain is unbearable

Continue to pray and teach them about the dangers of all drugs. It only takes one time to get a deadly dose of medication, prescribed or bought illegally. Don’t hide the truth from them honesty is the key. Also learn about Narcan, the pharmacies in Illinois give it away free. I gave a box to my daughter when she went away to school. Her dad and I explained the dangers of drugs all of her life. We also decided as a collective to send a box w/ her as a preventative measure. On Valentine’s Day she went to a school party, couple kids passed out, she called 911, paramedics were sent, they had to administer 6 doses of Narcan to certain kids. It was at that moment she decided to carry the Narcan with her daily bc it’s a life or death situation. She also changed her major to Forensics because she wants to make a positive difference in ppl’s lives.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your son. Mine overdosed and had the ambulance kick bathroom door down. He wasn’t breathing. 4 cans of Narcan got a pulse and breathing again. He was in ICU and in coma then to now vegetive state. He cant hold his head up nor eat. There are times he will track me with his eyes so, he maybe starting to become semi conscious. He’s now moved out of ICU to another floor in hospital. My son also took a Xanax laced with feytnal. I’m thankful to GOD Jesus Christ he’s alive, even if he has severe brain damage from lack of oxygen to the brain. I’m so sorry for the loss of your son too. Even to get your child into a rehab is a 6 months wait here in Oregon. The rehab said, since the border has been wide open, fetynal that came from China shipped in by cartel is killing off our youth. There are so many young people addicted to it that there just aren’t enough beds in rehab to help them. I tried to get my son in since he was addicted to Xanax that the doctor put him on at 17. He went to rehab for that. Yet, still bought a Xanax pill off someone laced with fentanyl. These kids are playing Russian roulette when taking just one pill that will drop them quick! I heard my son drop to the ground when he went to the bathroom to take a shower. It’s quick. My heart breaks for all families. Addiction is a monster. Some get addicted just trying the first time if pre disposed to addiction.

This story is worthy of adapting into a film. A young, promising child dies from purchasing a fake pill through social media. The mom investigates and teams up with another mom whose child also later dies at the hands of this seller they're tracking. Then they find out the seller is a young teen himself. Other young customers come forward and now the teen is in federal prison. Wow. 17:28-17:31 A powerful statement on the dangers of experimenting with drugs.

Soul crushing! This breaks my heart on so many levels. Good on her for helping educate parents on the dangers of Fentanyl. Personally, it's in the news every day and there are endless online posts about it so I don't understand where the disconnect is? In every single one of these episodes, parents say they weren't aware of Fentanyl. I don't even have children and yet I am very aware of it. But she's doing something about it and for that I applaud her.
And let me just say, it has never been a good idea to "experiment." People can become addicted very quickly. It's just not worth the risk. I'm so happy she brought the drug pusher to justice. How flagrant and callous he was! A kid just died on account of him and he uses that to market the same pills?! Truly disgusting! He has killed at least three people and gotten who knows how many more addicted. Many of those addicts will die eventually. He's getting his due. It just sucks that it happened in the first place.

The border must be sealed 100%. The Fentanyl comes from China and goes to big Mexican Cartels who mix it with different fillers and form them into pills that look like Vicodin, Oxycontin, Xanax or any other pill. The pills are so good they can even fool a pharmacist.
The Las Vegas sheriff says that almost 100% of pills sold on the street are laced with Fentanyl.
I will vote for whoever will seal the border shut, I don't care which political party.
Fentanyl is my number one issue. It's killing tens of thousands of our young people every year and it's growing. Most of these kids are good kids who made one bad decision.

I just really want to say thank uou for sharing uou and Camerom's story. I would really like to think this channel, this platform, the real life people that are really going through this directly or indirectly. Thank you so much to everyone for coming foward and sharing these stories no matter how hard they are or how hard it is to get it out, yous guys are doing the most good by sharing, and educating the rest of us, and showing everyone what can happen if they or someone they love are dabbling or have a drug abuse problem. Times are definitely not like they were when i was growing up experimenting, things were what they were supposed to be then, its rough for this new generation of kids, teens, users, experimenters, like its not just pills, everything is being laced nowadays and your first try of something could be your last try as well. That high people are chasing it could be their last high. Fentanyl is not something so common as to all the kids, or even adults are just fully aware of it, some may have heard of it but dont know what it is or how serious and potentially life threatening it can be. So it's a blessing to have everyone on here be able to educate people just a little more with every story. I have 5 children and i feel better that i now know about this drug and have neen able to educate my children about it also and have to have faith that should any of them try to experiment with drugs that they really keep this knowledge in the front of their minds. I just wish that this can be bigger, nationally, on many platforms so more people, more youth are able to access it, let it come on commercials as a public service announcement, as mandatory viewing on some ads, something i don't know for sure and realize how expensive this all is but people having the knowledge to save multiple lives is priceless! So again thank everyone so much and i will always include everyone in all these stories (as a whole) in my prayers.
