Congratulations on fully funding your Christmas fund.... your videos are always so relaxing 😌. Really enjoy watching them. I'm still looking forward to seeing your new wallet 😍
You are doing so well with all your cash stuffing. Well done on fully funding your Christmas challenge. You are sure to enjoy Christmas that little more more knowing that it has all been fully paid for up front. I look forward to seeing what your savings goals are going to be for 2023 and then following along as you work to completing them all.
Thanks so much Julie 🧡 it feels odd being excited to have money goals and targets for the new year at this time of year? Normally I’m just glad to see the back of Xmas and struggle all throughout jan and feb trying to play catch up! Not this time 🥳! x
Hey, first thing: Congrats on having your Christmas fully funded! Amazing! I just wanted to ask how common are £50 and £100 notes in Scotland or the UK in general. I’ve heard its really difficult to get or even use them there. Seeing that you had so many £50s made me wonder if thats a phenomenon that just happens “south of the wall”. I feel like even if card is easy to use, bigger banknotes like the £50 and the £100 could have some utility. I mean, I come from Spain and the notes we usually get from ATMs span from €10 to €50 and then €5 notes are the ones you get with your change. €100, €200 and €500 notes are much rarer.
Thanks Hugo! £100 notes are only printed in Scotland, England hasn’t printed them for about a century! I don’t think anyone in England uses them, as it’s hard to even spend a Scottish fiver to be honest down south. But yes they are rare in terms of how often you’d see them being used day to day, probably more something you’d use for paying a large amount at once or gifting money for a special occasion. For me, I’m not going to go out to my corner shop to break a 100 lol so in terms of cash stuffing and saving - I’ll never break into my EF unless it’s a true emergency. But you can easily get them at any bank that has a business desk (smaller branches won’t, my local does) 50’s - I’d say we see these more in Scotland than in England, we use Scottish and English 50s interchangeably without issue. Unless your trying to use a 50 to spend less than a tenner, they’ll like ask if you have anything smaller. From talking to people in the budgeting community from England … most said they just don’t like the 50s? So that’s been the main reason they say they don’t use them. But I’ve had a few others say they’ve gone to use them and been refused as people think they are fake?! We’ve never had anything higher than a 100 for pound sterling I believe? But the value of the pound used to be really high, not so much now with the way the UK is going. We did used to have £1 notes instead of coins! But during our last massive recession and inflation apparently they had to switch to coins. Doesn’t make sense to me, surely the paper ones where cheaper to produce but I’m not an expect 🤣 I do really miss those though, I’d happily get rid of £2/£1 coins for just £1 notes x
Totally agree with you about cash stuffing!! I went Christmas shopping today - in November, because my Christmas envelope was fully funded. I am 61 and I have never done that before. Great video as usual. Well done on your journey. Love that you are starting so young. I wish I had xx
That’s absolutely amazing to read 🥰 I can’t wait to experience when we got shopping on the 30th, did it feel … bizarre? I’m struggling to imagine it still lol thank you so much for your support 🧡🧡 xx
Absolutely brilliant! Well have to adjust the budget for next year, I already have 2 challenges but I think I’ll need to add another for about .. £150ish? We forgot to budget for food for Xmas and Hogmanay 😭 xx

Well done you must feel so chuffed 💚💚xx And you should totally feel proud 😃💖 how pretty the placeholders look 😍 Whoop for halfway on the Emergency Fund too 👍🏻👍🏻. The video you inserted 🤣🤣. I’m so impressed you remembered everything in the one comment 🤣 did you get a cheat sheet?! 😆 thanks so much 🧡🧡🧡🧡 feels absolutely amazing just having it there ready to spend and it won’t affect the budget ☺️ Iris’s placeholders are absolutely stunning aren’t they?!
