Gorgeous watch. Looks impeccably finished. Don't blame it for the Daytona similarities. There are only so many ways you can design a 3 register sports chrono and it has enough unique touches to stand apart.

Peter, I have to thank you a lot coz you have been reviewing attractive watches for me, from Indie/micro brands that I had never heard before like this one. And this watch certainly looks way better than the Rolex, and at a Real Value/Price. Is what the Daytona ought to be at 28800 vph. My favorite reviews from you are this one and the Yema Superman, and of the two, I got this Pitzman!!!!!
I own the Pitzmann II and like it a lot, I ordered the Pitzmann III last week and it's on its way in the mail. Looking forward to trying it on myself. Also UPDATE: PITZMANN has sold out of their first run of chronos, new orders won't be fulfilled for at least a couple months
I considered this as its got great finishing and movement. Ended up buying a Solar Seiko Chrono quartz as the maintenance on a mechanical can be high . Plus this is not cheap but very reasonable for a mechanical Chrono
I ordered this ⌚ with the white dial. Looking forward to receiving it. I have been wanting a wearable chronograph with the 8R48 movement for some time now.
Really like this watch. Def does remind me of the Plat Daytona. The 8R48 I haven't seen used much in many micro brands so I'm liking their use here. It is a modular chronograph if I remember correctly but still like it very much.
I think it's beautiful watch! The details are truly well designed and thought out. Yes it's pedigree is the Daytona but what three dial chronograph isn't nowadays. It's a beautiful design to emulate and Rolex to their credit created a masterpiece that stands the test of time. I unfortunately will never own one since I can never see myself spending that much for a watch no matter how well crafted. I love chronographs and this watch is definitely on my list to consider! Thank you Peter for another, well crafted video review! 😀
What a beauty. Such a shame that an honest and beautiful homage is so similar to Rolex. But, what's really a shame, is not that it looks like a Rolex, it's that society has become so depraved. That's a shame.
Great review. Looks beautiful. Is it 904L steel? The bracelet has a lovely glow to it. I think it’s a good price for what you get - automatic chronographs are rarely cheap! However being a Londoner I’ll have to give this one a miss! Shocking to learn about the recent murder here.
I received mine last week - white dial. It's a really lovely piece and I'm very glad I got this as my first mechanical chronograph. I'm very happy with how well it sits on the wrist, and have a great fit with the bracelet.
Nice watch in it's own right. Just to clarify the gangs who are targeting so called " luxury watch wearers ", are in actuality mugging anyone who has something they regard as worth having either for themselves or to sell on. The unfortunate man who was killed wearing a fake luxury watch , would not have made any difference whether real or fake, he was probably flaunting a watch he thought looked good on him regardless and someone else wanted it the easy way. Gangs are also targetting people in London for certain brands of clothing.
Nice looking watch, very well priced for an automatic chronograph with a great calibre. I own an 8R48 SRQ023 from seiko, though more of a dress style watch than this.
I have to state this I believe that you shouldn't let your guard down just because you think that you're in a 'safe area' don't be paranoid be smart ok enough rambling Really appreciate you sharing another great and reasonably price watch worth serious consideration Be well my friend and God Bless you and Yours 👍
It's interesting to see what countries make watches. Biggest is Switzerland, followed by Germany and to a lesser degree the U.K., France, Italy and the U.S. In the Far East there's Japan and China. Didn't realize South Korea made something this nice looking. Does Australia make watches?
My take, at a distance, is equally contradictory. I actually don't find it that similar, but at the same time it is a lot more similar to another watch overall than the Pitzmann II. My explanation for that arguably palces the problem less with taking inspiration from a particular watch, but rather with the fact that the more complex a watch becomes, with more elements and functions crammed into the real estate, and then following Pitzmann's very clear recipe of making their own ideal accessible version of such a watch comoromising on as little as possible in terms of functionality, finish, and enjoyment, well, you end up with simoly less elenents that logically will be very different. Make a design of many classic functional elements truly very different (whidh I'm sure they could have) and it would arguably not really follow that same philosophy of the First Pitzmann and the Pitzmann II. Beyond that, the fact is that actually it is not that similar. While I have seen neither watch in the metal, the one that I think has better looks at first glance is actually the Pitzmann and that shows their mastership, considering Rolex's leadership and lineage. This is down to proportions, choices of finishes on the watch, style of hands, the added textures, and clever details in the subdial and second hand that do more to guide the eye and thus functional legibility than on the exemplified Rolex. The overall impression is smart, but also slightly more sporty than that jewelly Rolex, and that acutally fits the genre better. Then there is the fact that actually the Chronograph elements are only customised until the dial. Below that, it's a Pitzmann II. Because so much of the case is hidden behind the bezel, I wasnt sure of this at first, but it was good to have this confirmed. It's great, because the Pitzmann II is a joy to wear for the fit and finish, but it means the Pitzmann 3 is also less original in the brand's own catalogue, and I simply would have enjoyed to see more of the detail-driven design flair Pitzmann demonstrated so far. Chronographs, I feel, don't really suit me. I don't think that the bulk and business that comes with the additional functions I'll barely use is a good trade-off vs time only or time and date elegant sports watches. However, stylistically, I would wear this, and that I have been ablr to say of very few chronographs with so little reservation (perhaos the 60th anniversary TAG Heuer is another for its cleanliness, but note the absence of the functional bezel there). Since I have relaitvely little attention for Rolex, I knew abkut robberies but didn't know people get killed over fakes. Unfortunately, since I doubt the perpetrators would have such a sharp and critical eye as watch enthusiasts, I do concede the similarity in overall style wpuld be enough to run the risk of such unwanted attention. That is a pity. One wonders if it would not have been worth at least distinguishing more with a different colourway (alrhough the Rolex looks more green in taint in your footage, separately they'd both be a very pale blue). I do think Pitzmann deserves credit for this design, as actually newhere do they truly set out to make a copy and each element seems so well balanced and considered that one can fully appreciate the care that went into it. Nonetheless, I can imagine that they have not been blind to the similarities themselves in the development and decided to stick to the aproach. Even if only few people agree with me that this offers a few aesthetic and potentially functional improvements over the Rolex, I still would call this an excellent R&D result.
The watch is really beautiful. Is Pitzmann still sending their products with dhl? I had troubles with my Pitzmann 2, someone stole the Watch out of the package and I only received the box without Watch or papers. The problem I had was, dhl doesn’t insure Watches when sending them. So I had to get my refund from paypal.
The difference between a watch with or without on-the-fly adjustment is me possibly cosidering to buy your watch, or not looking into it at all. It's 2024, we the customers are informed, like it or not. I finally found decent, affordable, adjustable clasps on Aliexpress in 16 to 24 mm. Not all bracelets allow this, but I've retrofitted some of my watches' bracelets with it, and I'm finally learning to like them. Plus or minus 2,5mm makes all the difference, every day.
Good value, way too close to other watches for me. I think I'd have been more swayed if the colorways had offered something more adventurous, it would further differentiate the design. Great video as always though 🍻
Let's not forget the full quote is ''Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.'' It is a nice looking watch though.
A very nice looking piece. My only constructive criticisms are that although there are lots of Korean designed/branded products I like, Pitzmann doesn't sound very Korean (it sounds more German or Austrian); and I think the pushers stick out too much (I prefer the style of pusher on my Omega Speedmaster).
Hmmm, i always wish "enjoy whatever you love" but enjoy eachother" ain't bad... LOL Be well bro, cheers. (and many beers for many many years... right on the season there, innit?🍺🍻)
Not really as far as I can tell.. The Pitzmann 2 was a 150m sports watch and has it sown unique look as you saw in this video. I have that watch in my "microbrand" watch box collection 👍
Hello, and thank you for this video Peter. Pitzmann is surrely an interesting microbrand, no doubt about that. But, about this chrono, it is clearly too close to a Daytona's look to be really interesting.
@@PeterKotsa Yes, for sure. Perhaps with other colors, not used by Rolex, and slightly different subdials, it could have worked with me. But at this point, it's more looking like a homage chrono from a random chinese AliExpress brand, not from a corean indépendant microbrand.
There are a lot obvious differences with the Rolex - the pushers and (missing) crown guards for example. The same criminal who'd take this to be a Daytona would also mistake an Invicta for a Rolex Sub. This looks like a well designed and finished piece, but a little too flashy for my taste - I'd probably go for the Tricompax , the humbler vintage Daytona homage from Baltic. It is more expensive and 'plainer' but with an arguably better movement.
I have a hard time thinking even a street thug would truly mistake that for a Rolex. The case, the lugs, the sub dials, the bracelet. It doesn't look much more like a Rolex than any number of other chronographs. The color of the dial is a very obvious nod to the platinum and might garner some extra looks, but... I dunno maybe you are right. Criminals aren't very smart are they?
Ive seen some dumb criminals in my time 😊😂 On a side note, I was wearing my BB58 recently and I was asked by 3 people if that was a Rolex So apart from us in the watch community, there is quite a bit of ignorance out there Thanks for sharing 👍
Go check out Marlow out of the UK, main office in Perth Scotland selling a beautiful range of manual and fully auto with a full Swiss movements. A stand out company and all under £1,000. Just have a look.
Rolex just does nothing for me. I would feel like a common, uninspired lemming wearing one. I feel like Rolex execs sit around back slapping each other and laughing at how stupid and gullible the middle class is. This watch is really nice looking although not my taste. The color reminds me of your Grand Seiko shown in your intro.
I kinda love how it looks. Not sure I want it to be mistaken for a Rolex, would be not only dangerous as stated but also embarrassing for me, rolex is worn by people that want to show you they're rich... It looks at least as good as the Rolex to me, some things better, some things worse. I like the dial colour and readability. I wish we had more choices, still a bit skeptical about potential repairability, being such a small company (even tho i understand movement is seiko.. dunno)
Peter you should try get your hands on the seiko sbtr027 its a JDM Seiko that looks similar to this watch but for $150. Meca quartz movement it really punches above its weight. Your camera work would make for a superb review
Its a lovely watch, but its a shame it's so similar to the Rolex. They have the ability to create quality watches, so why not go in your own direction?
Hey Mr. idiot~ Are you going to call it a Rolex Daytona homage if you put a ceramic bezel on the 3, 6, and 9 small second designs? Of course, some design elements were borrowed, but it can be seen as a completely different design. Shame on you 😂😂
First, Samsung, then it was Kpop, and now Pitzmann. A really handsome timepiece, Peter. Thanks for your video presentation. Great as usual!

Hmmm, i always wish "enjoy whatever you love" but enjoy eachother" ain't bad... LOL
Be well bro, cheers. (and many beers for many many years... right on the season there, innit?🍺🍻)
Not bad eh...😂😂
No micro-adjust and only 50m water resistance seem an odd way to go IMO. Lovely looker though, for sure.
that's a nice watch, id own it in public.
but its not a Seiko turtle.
Great video, is this a homage brand?
Not really as far as I can tell..
The Pitzmann 2 was a 150m sports watch and has it sown unique look as you saw in this video.
I have that watch in my "microbrand" watch box collection 👍
Movement/Price/Link?

@@PeterKotsa Thanks.
Just ordered the Ice Blue.
Can't wait to wear it.
Do you know if there are
AM glass back options?
Not that I am aware of...enjoy the watch, its a beauty 👍@@MCMTL
Boy that's a looker.
Almost, as if not everything revolves around Rolex/Zenith, right?
Needs an exhibition case back....
Hello, and thank you for this video Peter. Pitzmann is surrely an interesting microbrand, no doubt about that. But, about this chrono, it is clearly too close to a Daytona's look to be really interesting.
Definitely a polarising look for sure Christophe
@@PeterKotsa Yes, for sure. Perhaps with other colors, not used by Rolex, and slightly different subdials, it could have worked with me. But at this point, it's more looking like a homage chrono from a random chinese AliExpress brand, not from a corean indépendant microbrand.
Well just went to their web site and this particular model is sold out
There are a lot obvious differences with the Rolex - the pushers and (missing) crown guards for example.
The 510 Movement of the Baltic.
The movement of P3 is applied with column wheels and vertical clutches.
Ive seen some dumb criminals in my time 😊😂
On a side note, I was wearing my BB58 recently and I was asked by 3 people if that was a Rolex
So apart from us in the watch community, there is quite a bit of ignorance out there
Thanks for sharing 👍
Go check out Marlow out of the UK, main office in Perth Scotland selling a beautiful range of manual and fully auto with a full Swiss movements. A stand out company and all under £1,000. Just have a look.
Rolex just does nothing for me. I would feel like a common, uninspired lemming wearing one. I feel like Rolex execs sit around back slapping each other and laughing at how stupid and gullible the middle class is. This watch is really nice looking although not my taste. The color reminds me of your Grand Seiko shown in your intro.
Yep, very similar colour tone to GS for sure 👍
I kinda love how it looks. Not sure I want it to be mistaken for a Rolex, would be not only dangerous as stated but also embarrassing for me, rolex is worn by people that want to show you they're rich...
It looks at least as good as the Rolex to me, some things better, some things worse. I like the dial colour and readability. I wish we had more choices, still a bit skeptical about potential repairability, being such a small company (even tho i understand movement is seiko.. dunno)
if they only changed that bezel. Nothing screams Daytona more than that.
50 meters water resistant.
Office Sport watch.
Having said that looks good!
the same movement and the same price (easily can get discount) is new Venezianico Bucintoro chronograph.
🇰🇷 ❤
Blue AR coating!!!----for me, that's the pitz, mann......
Because if it ain't broke, why bother? Less R&D costs, plus tried and tested design language offered at an affordable price point.
It literally looks nothing like a Daytona, a chronograph with three subdials and a tachymetre scale on the bezel doesnt make it a Daytona
@@navboi12 For this sort of money and quality, they should not have the same business model as San Martin.
@@jamied931this. its like every single effing generic chrono have that layout
Hey Mr. idiot~ Are you going to call it a Rolex Daytona homage if you put a ceramic bezel on the 3, 6, and 9 small second designs? Of course, some design elements were borrowed, but it can be seen as a completely different design. Shame on you 😂😂
I just wear classic g shock most accurate watch I've ever had.
Hurry up
I think is dofferent enough
Where is the movement?
