  • With it's beautiful scenery, hairpin bends and numerous twists and turns the A4069 Black Mountain Road made it onto a lot of peoples bucket list rides when an episode of Top Gear featured Jeremy Clarkson driving it. Myself on my Yamaha Tracer 900 GT and 3 other friends rode this on the 2dn day of our 3 day tour of Wales.

Cracking route Graham. I spent a lot of my time in the army training there. 👍

Wow you live in a love part of the country. Question - I'm at cross roads between picking the Tracer GT900 & Z1000SX. If you could only have one bike, which would you choose.

I had an opportunity for a straight swap with a Z1000sx about 3 weeks ago but I preferred the extra leg comfort and more upright position of my Tracer. On the newer 2020 Ninja 1000 SX there are more toys such as cruise control and a better dash with Bluetooth and a quickshifter. I may be tempted by that model......the Kwak has a fantastic engine.

Is that a tomtom your using - just been to Pyrenees & had issues with my new 550 tomtom - screen rotating - speed cameras not showing & powering off for a few seconds any ideas cheers 👍

Hi Stuart yes, it's a Tomtom Rider 550. There is a screen orientation lock in the menus that will stop the screen rotating and speed camera warnings are illegal in some countries so Tomtom switch them off automatically so you can still use your sat nav legally in that country. Here's a link to the info about this for each country. help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360013899980-TomTom-Speed-Camera-service-and-the-law
Regarding powering down......If your unit loses connection for a second it will automatically power down as if you've switched off the ignition. May be a poor connection to those tiny pins on the back of the unit or a loose wire where it's hard wired to your bike. Hope at least some of that info proves useful, and Thankyou for your comments.
