Ah this video brings back memories. I went to this World Cup and went to 11 matches. I had what they called a TST7 ticket for Uruguay. Basically I followed Uruguay as far as they progressed, then kept following the winning teams up to the final. Turns out Uruguay went all the way to the semis. Saw the infamous Suarez handball, Donovan's goal in the 90' to win the group over England, and ultimately I saw the final, which included Nelson Mandela's final public appearance. At the final whistle of the final, I walked around the stadium to get pictures from different angles, and luckily ended up very close to the trophy presentation, which was done in the seats. I also went hiking in an amazing mountain range and went cage diving with great white sharks. A true life highlight!

That's awesome! Memories for a lifetime! I was still in middle school and remember we had a summer camp going on and one of the kids went to the world cup. We'd watch the games and boy did I truly fall in love with the beautiful game after that.

Many of the moments from this World Cup prove that VAR is needed in football. Like it or not, teams got flat out cheated because it wasn't.
Was Mexico playing Argentina in a World Cup, when an obvious cheat against Mexico was shown LIVE in stadium by mistake? 2014 or 2018? The Mexican side were all over the ref, but he let his bad call stand. Mexico couldn't recover and were flushed out of that World Cup. Talk about being cheated!

@@martin912 it might be shock no. 51. Argentina was a team without a manager that World Cup, Maradona was a cheerleader with a clipboard. It was basically an experiment to see how far raw talent can take you. The answer was surprisingly far. Maybe the real shock is that Argentina played so well up to that point.

Suarez didn’t cheat, he made a calculated decision, knew he was going get sent off, and did. It’s no different than a tactical foul to prevent a goal scoring opportunity.
Ultimately, Suarez did the one thing that would benefit his team and give them a chance to win, even throwing away his only chance go play in a World Cup semi-final. Tell me that’s not the most unselfish thing a player can do, to give up playing the most important game of his life for the good of the team.
If a Ghanaian player had done the same thing, he would be virtually treated as a god in the whole of Africa, and rightfully so. If an English player did the same thing, you bet your ass these guys would be on their knees calling him a national hero, saying he sacrificed himself for his country etc. etc.

How many excuses did England make during that world cup.......And all of them were rubbish....
That disallowed goal was a huge difference maker and really sad tbh.
As far as making excuses go, being denied an equalizer and having all the momentum you’ve built up from making an 0-2 score line level, suddenly turned against you, while simultaneously losing all faith that the match will be called fairly, is a pretty catastrophic turn of events, especially against a side as intimidating as Zee Germans.

No way, 2010 was one of the most forgettable World Cups in recent history. Few goals, dirty play, a ball that didn’t work in high altitude and vuvuzelas that were so annoying and made the games so difficult to watch.
