It’s a Cooper’s hawk. Not a redtail hawk. Redtail hawks don’t typical hunt pigeon. Also, they are like, 3 times the size and wouldn’t be able to fit in that trap.
Phoenix that also is not true. They aren’t like humans where if your fat your body is larger. Although they may have a little more chunk in the breast area, u can’t tell the difference between fat and skinny unless u actually touch them. A Cooper’s hawk weights between 150gms and 400gms. A redtail hawk weights between 600gms and 1600gms depending on male/female. And it’s not often u find 600gms unless they are knocking on deaths door.
hunting is for people that want to eat! not for people to make videos and make money off those videos with incentives to kill more than they need to for the next video!
The hunting that needs to be taken off TH-cam is hunting that is irresponsible, disrespectful, and/or cruel. Also, stop sharing the animals suffering in bad shots. The people doing that are adding fuel to the fire threatening to destroy consciousness food and conservation hunting.
Something I love, he didn't leave it up to speculation or the youtube experts. This man called a certified wildlife official in his state and got the thumbs up for what he did. I really like that. Props to you homie
Thank you for preaching about the respect for wildlife! We need more of these conservationist on TH-cam with big platforms to preach about it more often. Seeing way to many young hunters not be appreciative of the resources we’re given. Much respect to you for ranting at the end 🙌🏼 maybe it’ll open up the eyes of some of these young hunters. Hope you keep on preaching respect for game birds and animals once season starts.
That makes me get chills up my spine just hearing people mess with birds like that or animals in general. Always treat everything with respect preach it Bobby! Glad you did the talk cause you’re a big influence in the hunting world on TH-cam.
I appreciate you talking conservation, ethics, and gun safety.. it's not done enough! I teach outdoor education in middle school, so many young kids don't have the opportunity to be mentored in outdoor sports, but they DO watch TH-cam! I came to your Chanel because one of my middschoolers recommended you. Keep up the great work!
Good Evening Bobby, what can you say about an amazing video like that? A little tip about letting your pigeons out - the two little doors you open on the side of your loft, keep them open so the birds can go in and out freely but you must fix a landing board across the bottom of it, at least 6 inches wide. That's what is known as an open flight. No Fred tonight. Has he gone back to training? Get on with a catch clean and cook video with your dad and family. Malc and Ann (England) UK xxx
Appreciate the talk too many guys need to hear those things. Still wanna hear you talk about field vs public marsh sky busting. Bust a private field no biggie, bustin a private marsh and losing all your birds, much different deal! Cool vid 👍
Preach on brother, We need to educate young hunters on respectful practices and ethical hunting and trapping. Commen Sense is key for sure and doing the right thing as hunters in important. We as hunters are truly the ones that hold all the power and being disrespectful to wild game Will be the quickest way to lose our hunting privileges. I hope I never see that in our lifetime but I am concerned for our children and our children’s children. Keep up with your positive hunting videos. Can’t wait to book a hunt at the lodge 👊🏼
The spiel at the end is the best part of the video (maybe just the most important, that hawk was crazy!! 😅) We all need a better mindset and need to teach this to all our new hunters. 👏🏻
Lol Bobby I understand we’re you’re coming from about knowing what you’re shooting at but here in South Georgia there ain’t nothing but woodies and honkers and mergansers lol hope you have a good duck season!
Can always count on you to tell it like it is Bobby. I respect that man. If you are a hunter, than you are a conservationist. If you don’t care about limits or respecting the animal and the habitats that sustain them, then you can not call yourself a hunter. That goes for fishing or any outdoors activity as well. We have a responsibility to be good stewards of what we have so that it will still be there for our future generations to enjoy. If you take care of nature she will take care of you. I can’t wait to see that lodge in person come January and down some birds on the ole Sandhill Flyway.
Good advice on being respectful to hunting and the take of all game. Applies to fishing as well, one viral video gives all hunters and anglers a black eye on social media. To many states are under fire for having reduced seasons access to land for all👍
My friend jay caught a imature eagle in a leghold trap...he used a muskrat carcass as bait but the rat varcass got exposed ( i.e not in a hole)...so the eagle pounced...as jay aprouched the trap he couldnt figure it out until he got closer...he called the dnr...the warden told him to put a blanket over the bird and release him...his buddy scott a rough iron worker helped him...on the youtube vid they made...this rough iron worker was so gentle and soft speaking and calmed that bird down...as far as we know the eagle is a adult now
Thank you for talking about not taking a shot until you know what you are sure you are shooting. My dad taught my brothers that. Many many many years ago my dad was bear hunting and almost shot a guy crawling the brush dressed in dark clothes with no orange on. He layed into him telling him if he hadn't made sure what it was and just shot at the color and sound he could have killed him.
Looking at your pigeon loft , it might pay to check out other racing pigeon lofts , they have a trap entry with a landing platform where the pigeons go in but can’t get back out , certainly will make your loft flying so much more fun and not having to worry about the birds being out , they will eventually go in and get caught in there just like your traps except it’s your loft there trapping into . Also fly your birds when they are not fed , other wise they won’t go in as easy , keep them hungry a little so they want to go in for the food. I used to race pigeons so that’s why I’m giving the tips especially when no one helps to show you. Good luck 👍
Coopers hawk. The young birds of the year are getting pushed out of breeding territories, and some are even starting migration. I had one come down and hit my loft the other day when I was standing only 5ft away
Looks like you trapped a small cooper's hawk (that or a sharp shinned hawk, hard to tell with the angles). I've trapped several for research purposes. They're very tenacious birds so I am not surprised one found it's way into your trap. The professor I was working under had collared doves in a cage in his garage that he kept as bait birds. The hawks actually managed to find their way under the garage door and were trying to get into the cage. Very cool animals.
Hey Bob, you should incorporate a hatch into your loft so the pigeons can go in and out without the chooks and ducks trying to steal the feed. Awesome video as always 👍
Hello Bobby! I suggest you make a trap door for them, then there you can trap train your pigeons! If you release them and you wanna make them come inside your loft again, they will head to that trap door and won't get out even if you leave them for hours
You’re right Bobby👍 We must be careful not to bring the sport and conservation into disrepute. Most importantly we must respect the animals we have been blessed with. They’re our food and you all know what parents say,, “stop playing with your food”😂 I really like when you talk of respect and gun safety, we need to teach this to the new hunters out there, especially the next generation. Stay well and stay safe. Ash 🏴
Bobby I disagree with ya, hunting will not go out the door if we do our job as a hunting community and we keep sharing the good word and giving these talks. We can conserve and save hunting from disappearing. Love everything you do and keep sharing the good word, get some new hunters out this season to share the love!
Been watching your old pigeon hunting videos from back when you first hunted with Flair back in 2017 and killed 206 . You both have changed alot since then.
Couldn't agree more! Some people don't have respect for animals, every time I kill any kind of game i give thanks for letting me take it to feed my family.
What building top are you on? I just started following your channel, so I'm new here. Love local stuff. I knew you were Sedgwick Co.,but wasn't too sure how close you were to Wichita.
Bobby, love the videos and the your spiel was right on the nose and one of the reasons I love your videos. You have a good sense of how people Should act and how you should act
I know u didnt mean to let your pigeons out , but they need to be hungry to come in when you want them in . The ones that dont come back , dont worry . The rest are settled ok and the young they breed will be settled to ya loft also . Loving the vids , and the hunting vids , and I dont even hunt !!! Still waiting for the blow pipe hunt ...... 👍🤞
Amen brother that's why I just shoot pheasants and Ducks especially Malads easy to spot and hunt. In Idaho we have a whole bunch of Malad ducks and pheasants.
I jump shot a field full of snows and ended up killing 3 specks and 15 snows. Specks were still in and a buddy claimed one to keep us legal. But you never know what’s hanging with the snows.
Bobby what is the difference in trapping birds and shooting birds? Are they different pigeons species of pigeons you keep versus the ones you hunt for sport?
Hey bobby way to keep it real and help educate! Hunting will unfortunately be a thing of the past one day and vidios that show animals being played withbjust help that cause ..way to be a leader ..✌
I had a steel trap set for coyote that was getting into our chickens and I ended up catching a red tail hawk in it I had him by the wing and the foot I didn't know what to do so I called The animal rehabilitation place near us and that's where I took him they ended up amputating a toe and then released him back where I called him about 2 months later
One thing you gotta understand is not everyone has countless fields to hunt. Some of us have to hunt roosts. If done properly there is no difference then hunting their feed.
I appreciate you taking the time to talk about respect towards game. You have a lot of young guys out there that follow and look up to you. It's good to see you using your platform to give them a much needed talk about respect. Props to you, Bud.
The king of spray and pray, Preaching about hunting respectively. I'm all for hunting respectively and doing your best but in my mind spraying a flock of geese or pigeons full of shot doesn't make the cut.
Bobby well said we need more people in the world to preach about hunting reponsilbly me and my dad go hunting in south Dakota and I hate when people disrespect hunting and game like that
Take a baby pigeon once the pigeon hits a month old put them outside fo a week and train them to enter the loft if the bird is old bird put tape on 3 wings the longest wings
Biggest rule in my family has always been that you don’t kill anything you’re not going to eat (or use in some other appropriate way). The only exception being population control etc.
It’s a Cooper’s hawk. Not a redtail hawk.
Redtail hawks don’t typical hunt pigeon. Also, they are like, 3 times the size and wouldn’t be able to fit in that trap.
Yeah even a passage Redtail that doesn't have its colors yet towers over an adult Cooper
jpfan1989 a passage redtail is the same size as an adult. 🤷🏻♂️ sometimes can even weight more.
@@tinygoalie52 That's not always true though, and we know that depending on where the Hawk is, he can be either very skinny or very big.
Phoenix that also is not true. They aren’t like humans where if your fat your body is larger. Although they may have a little more chunk in the breast area, u can’t tell the difference between fat and skinny unless u actually touch them. A Cooper’s hawk weights between 150gms and 400gms. Its a falcon
Preach that hunting respectfully stuff brother couldn't agree more with everything you said. I'd love to see a public land pigeon hunt!
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Lol Bobby was talking about being respectful to game and it reminds me of when my dad would gut a deer and throw the nuts at me😂
Duros - Pubg
Reminds me of when my first ever duck which was a woodie got up and swam around by my feet🤣
Duros - Pubg scared the crap outta me
I pray that they don’t take hunting off TH-cam. It’s my way of life and yours too. If people don’t like it, don’t watch it.
hunting is for people that want to eat! not for people to make videos and make money off those videos with incentives to kill more than they need to for the next video!

Coopers hawk just to clarify Bobby
Yup
Pelgerine falcon
Juvenile cooper
Im studying falconry and a falconer to be 100% a imitator male Cooper’s hawk
Something I love, he didn't leave it up to speculation or the youtube experts. This man called a certified wildlife official in his state and got the thumbs up for what he did. I really like that. Props to you homie

I’ll upvote any video you or anyone else posts in which you preach or give a reminder to the morals and ethics of hunting. Keep it up brotha 🤙🏻

Hunting will never go away, maybe on youtube. As long as there's starvation and game the hunt will always go on.

Last 3 minutes of this video…. Yes! Much respect! Don’t give PETA a reason to attacks us.
Yaaaaa, that's an adult Coopers hawk
juvenile not an adult
Keep up pigeon trapping vids bob! Keep on with all the videos! We started following YOUR journey! Pigeons, ducks, pest control. DO YOU BOB!
*traps Cooper's hawk that definitely doesn't have a red tail*
"This is a red tailed hawk, I can tell by its tail feathers."
😅😅😅

Great vidoe our generation needs to do what you said because I know poor sportsman like that we need more like you!
Bobby I live and grew up here in Kansas thanks for being respectful for regulations !!
Nice hawk release. You should trap a hawk for a falconry.
Great message for fellow hunter. What do you do with the pigeons you trap? Just curious.
The lodge looks very good.thank you for your hard work, telling people want it is legal. You are alsome.tell your dad hello, your famiy
Hello Bobby! I suggest you make a trap door for them, then there you can trap train your pigeons! If you release them and you wanna make them come inside your loft again, they will head to that trap door and won't get out even if you leave them for hours

I see lots of tik toks where people run over birds with a boat and try to justify it saying they are just coots. That crap ticks me off too
Bobby can you do a waterfowl identification
Don’t often comment but that last part needed to be said thank you !

very soon
I am debating between a dozen dive bomb goose Silhouettes + a dozen dive bomb socks or just one dozen full bodies i need help
Isn’t North Dakota early goose season for residents only?
I had a steel trap set for coyote that was getting into our chickens and I ended up catching a red tail hawk in it I had him by the wing and the foot I didn't know what to do so I called The animal rehabilitation place near us and that's where I took him they ended up amputating a toe and then released him back where I called him about 2 months later
Hi again MR channel onwer boby guy films dont stop god bless you
Try shiny items instead of bait birds. Ive noticed the majority of small animals go into a kind of trance when looking at something shiny.
Well said Mr Guy
Dang It Bobby you can be posting videos in the morning yesterday I was late for work cuz I was drooling over the decoys lol
Glad you trapped one of Jordan Pigeons . Was the dead pigeon Banded or not .
One thing you gotta understand is not everyone has countless fields to hunt. Some of us have to hunt roosts. If done properly there is no difference then hunting their feed.

Kind of funny you say “bait bird”
Great content and videos keep up the great work
So what do you do trap feral pigeons then what ?
charcoal gray pigeon is called dun..-
Wait you fly your pigeons now?!
Looks like a Coop but the eye's
Definitely a Sharpy
The king of spray and pray, Preaching about hunting respectively. I'm all for hunting respectively and doing your best but in my mind spraying a flock of geese or pigeons full of shot doesn't make the cut.
Let's meet the game warden
Where are the swiftinas that Jordan gave you?
Love the channel man, look forward for more content! Let me know if you’re ever in central Illinois and wanna try some ducks, geese, or whitetail!
who is ready for dove and duck season
Bobby well said we need more people in the world to preach about hunting reponsilbly me and my dad go hunting in south Dakota and I hate when people disrespect hunting and game like that
You gotta start shooting boss shotshells out of Michigan I’m telling you best ammo out there
Good on ya Bobby respect all animal hunting or not respect
Be carful baby pigeons some times don’t come back I’m telling you?? Lol
Man that’s pretty crazy!
Take a baby pigeon once the pigeon hits a month old put them outside fo a week and train them to enter the loft if the bird is old bird put tape on 3 wings the longest wings
can't wait for the season! keep up the vids, we gonna see some squirrle hunting before dove season?
How many pigeons do you have
Start by learning what you're doing. That's an adult Cooper's Hawk. Looks absolutely nothing like a Red-tailed Hawk.
Bobby you need to put a one way loft door on your loft so when they get out they can get in at anytime on their own but not back out
People who disrespect game like that give us hunters bad names and hunting in general a bad reputation
I will not hunt with someone who doesnt respect the life of what were hunting.
Migiddy Mike neither will I
Add a trap to your loft its way easier
Do you eat most of them birds, any Squirrel hunting with dogs videos
AMEN !!!!!! A few bad apples ruin the whole bunch!
yessir
Bobby just called out everyone lol
You should get dux bands made with your number on it and release them and see who shoots them and where they go I think that would be kind of cool
Good speech let the kids know thanks
How often your pigeons brings back visitors?
