This kid can sometimes sound like Geddy Lee, Freddie Mercury, and of course, Robert Plant. He’s very special. That you can actually ‘feel his love’ when he sings, “can you feel my love?” That’s the magic every singer wants. He has it in spades. And they’re still so, so young. I think we’re witnessing something special.
I’m a 66 year old fan and absolutely love this song!!! This one along with Light My Love have become my new favorites!! My hubby actually discovered them several years ago (he’s an old rocker) and our kids bought us tickets to see them in concert which was outstanding and I’ve followed them since and they continue to get better and better and finding there own sound/style.
Wow! That’s a beautiful song. I hadn’t heard this before. I love the scales the singer sings at the end. I can definitely hear some classical influence as well as the rock and blues influences.
He makes the most of his vocal abilities as much as anyone I've heard in my sixty years. Love him or hate him, his vocal abilities are uncanny. As a band, I think they are stellar and we may overlook the other members because of his voice.
Wasn't my cup of tea at first, but the more I listen to it, the more I enjoy it. I was kinda shocked when I first heard him sing, but shock turned into appreciation and now, I'm wanting to hear more. Apparently, you have reviewed other GVF songs. I shall go and hunt for them. Thanks, Boys.
Saw them on Saturday in Portland live. And they are incredible live. Their production is top notch. They aren’t a huge band just yet but the fact that they spend that much money on the production shows how much they love giving you a show!
I feel like Josh’s voice is higher and has way better technique than Plant. Josh was able to be taught how to preserve his voice very well because that tone is incredibly strenuous on your vocal chords. Robert blew his voice out pretty early in his career, Josh’s voice will last the entirety of his life, therefore he has more room to prefect and grow.
Don't get it. The only thing they have in common with Rush is what they're wearing. They look like the band photo on 2112 - that's it. There is nothing else.
Josh is Geddy Lee’s and Freddy Mercury’s kid…. Absolutely phenomenal!!!! ❤🌈Forget Plant… geez. One day you won’t be able to walk into a guitar store and play Meeting the Master… it will be ILLEGAL!!!
My brother is 56 and he hates them, because he's a "Robert Plant is the Greatest" guy. I think Zeppelin is the best all time, its all opinions, but this dudes Voice is INSANE and the band is clean as fuck. Refreshing for me as a 44 year old lover of all music.
I'm 60 and I think they are great. I understand the Zeppelin reference and am a Zep fan but, to me, the guy can't help the vocal chords he was gifted with. And, what band hasn't been influenced by Zeppelin? Heck, Zeppelin copied a lot of artists note for note but no one dares mention that.
@@NecramoniumVideo That's not messing. I actually saw a video of Robert Plant that showed he likes them (actually called them "Led Zeppelin I"). If you get addressed that way by Robert Plant, you're doing something right.
These guys are my favorite, they have quite an extensive catalog that you need to hear. I will give you some awesome suggestions. I will send you a message. They are known for amazing guitar solo's. Of course the sound they started with was their influences, but even Robert Plant said he liked Josh's voice. There are so many songs, and great live versions I can't put them all down here. You'll see. Josh is not only the singer, but he writes most the songs. You might prefer their more hard rock songs, I will send you a list. As always love your reactions.
Heat Above is one of my favorite songs. You should react to a live performance! The Broken Bells and Tears of Rain candlelight live sessions are fantastic.
You don’t hear them on the radio because they don’t get played much The Battle at Gardens Gate was more cinematic and involved. New album coming out July 21st. Seeing them live is an experience! Best show I’ve seen in a long long time!!
The Battle at Garden’s Gate is a masterpiece. Listen to them all-even if you don’t react to them. You will be amazed. Weight of Dreams is a favorite on this album.
His voice reminds me of Geddy Lee's ( like in 'Closer to the Heart') - Probably the best band out of the 2010's and harkens back to the golden days of rock in more ways than one.
@jodibennett-bradshawrbtmph836 I can't find a source for this. The album sounds studio to me with the production sound you'd expect from a recorded studio album. Could you post a link to the source of your info, thank you.

I am 66 years old, and played drums in rock bands until I was 50. These guys are the best hope we have to make rock music by real musicians viable again. Despite the criticisms of sounding like Led Zeppelin, they are all great at their craft and a great band. And who ever said that sounding like LZ was a bad thing?
If you want another newer band to check out, then I think you will like Kaleo. Icelandic band who started in 2012 heavily influenced by American Delta blues andTexas blues primarily.
