- Now this is my remake of my 7000s XD40 review from August 2018. This is a review of my favorite XD40s since 2018. They seem to be very appreciative than the 2011 XD40s I looked up to more since 2013. My experiences with them out of ENY, Fresh Pond, Flatbush, and Ulmer Park Depot are the most satisfying rides I have encountered. Correlating with speed, quietness, and the advanced features plus with the cleanliness. Especially I forgot to mention the clean air conditioning smells that make my days calmer.
I am so sad for the 2 XD40s that have impacted badly in crashes in Queens. Even the latest news of #7403 that was rear-ended by a silver Maserati, driven by a DUI driver. Here it is....

Furthermore, as I just transferred from MJQ Depot, I got to drive some 7000s XD40 from ENY(as a supervisor, not B/O). And those 7000s were excellent but still don't have enough taste as to the
cuomo schemed XD40s we have.

Elegant Toyota Driver Thanks for the tip, only problem is the destinations sign colors are different one is orange and the other is yellow. MTA bus only has orange. I’m talking about the LaGuardia Depot bus 7090-7483 are going to be the first MTA bus from Laguardia depot.
What disappoints me about these busses is that they didn’t originally feature the Bianova on board screens.
When I was heading to Apple 5th Avenue in August, I was waiting for a bus at 49 Street and Maddison Avenue. The I took my first 2015 New flyer XD40 from Casey Stengel Depot. It was on the Q32. I rode it till 58 street and Maddison Avenue. The exterior was the same has the 2017-2019 new flyer XD40 from Quill but it didn’t had the charging ports. Hopefully I ride those buses more often.
As for as you may know, since 2018 they were having Wifi stickers indicating the Wifi in them is installed.

7090-7109, 7140-7150 are 2014 models
7110-7139, 7151-7483 are 2015 models
I have been an Xcelsior fan since 2021, and was an Orion fan before.
I was an Orion VII NG HEV fan for 6 years between 2009 and 2015. 2016 came, and I became an Xcelsior fan. Back then, there weren't enough Xcelsiors until 2019.

I like the look of these buses better than their older sisters, because of the rear doors and the back.
The 2015-16 LFSs also replaced these RTSs and Orion Vs
My favorite is 7121 out of ENY of course, plus i also love the flat seats and the sound of those engines roaring

I noticed that MTA bus company XD40s have different led signs than the NYCT XD40s
On January 6th, 2024, I caught one of these on the Q32 Westbound, at Rockefeller Center on 5 Av.
I always loved these units since the first day I saw 7090 in service on the B14..... there not as bad as everyone say they is I mean there braking systems is a bit bad bad but it ain't that bad as you think there fast and haul depending on what operator you get... these are pretty good units in my opinion
Well Damien, I operated these buses recently. I don't find the braking bad like how I felt it on the RTS I took in 2017(@Quill). And yes, these XD40s are superb before the cuomofied ones came in, though they still have speed . Especially I yet didn't have no taste with #7090 when I was in ENY Depot with my uncle. And I always like these 7000s in +SBS schemes alot since they were wrapped in June.
@@AutomotiveTaurus its Damian* and The Braking System in my opinion is a bit bad cause when it comes to that bus stopping the brakes be having me falling and busting my ass like there was so many accidents I seen where the bus was going a but fast and the braking went off a bit but other then that the bus is great
Same with me on the B46 within 2 months, because of heavy traffic towards Atlantic Ave from Church ave had let accidently touched a lady's face in that 7000 XD40.

They can be replace, but not by buttons

@@AutomotiveTaurus Happy New Year Cedric! I’ve watched many videos of the new buses coming into MTA Bus Company. What I heard is Baisley Park is full with their 2023 LFSs, Far Rockaway/JFK is receiving more 2024 LFSs, and is assigned to receive 73, and LaGuardia will receive both 2024 LFSs and XD40s. Is that right?
The lines I haven’t seen videos the LFSs running on, were the Q21, Q22, Q35 and Q41. Why is that?
Those are Far Rockaway shares. FR has yet to be assigned more besides one
