Good vid. Especially good points on Ymir. Her loving king Fritz makes no sense, but her wanting to stay a slave also makes no sense. My problem with the slave mentality explanation is she defied king Fritz in her dying moments (and when she released the pigs) but she couldn't pick up the courage to kill the guy with her OP abilities any time before that?

    “Trying to be different”
we’re trying to be critical something that has been constantly put down by people who either don’t want to admit things in the ending don’t work because they’re very attached to the series or they’re shippers. It’s so frustrating how a critical conversation is completely shut down without a second thought.

Watching this video. I entirely agree. And looking at the comments, I am honestly not surprised. It is what is expected. You make a point. You show evidence. And then they just ignore your point entirely, and make their own headcanons and narrative that suits them.

Also, I dont really blame your behavior that much, i did see your back and forth with some of the comments below. Yeah, they're annoying to argue with. And I'm saying this as someone who has been arguing with these people for a very long time. To the point, you just dont feel like arguing with them, and just thinking that they're mindless sheep. Cause they act all the same. Tho, I dont really want to side with AoT haters, even though I do understand them, some of the points they make, just make them seem no better than the defenders. Its a whole ah war going on lmao.
It is rather ironic though, that I want to move on from Attack on Titan, but no matter how much videos of other things i try to watch, do other activities, etc. I just keep have something that brings me back, to AoT, and having myself argue with Ending Defenders.

A lot of the criticisms around the Jeagerist and alliance kinda fall apart once you realize that Eren DID have a choice, and the full rumbling wasn't the only option here. The thing with Eren was that he wanted that world he dreamt of as a child, the world where he could be free. Even if there was no military threat to Paradis, Eren would still never be able to live a free life due to the horrible people and the racism of the outside. When Eren found out the truth about the world and that there were more things caging him in than just titans and walls, he decides to wipe it all away. The Jeagerists follow him because Eren presents the safest and easiest option for them.

I get where you're coming from in the video, it's far from a perfectly crafted story. I think a lot of things fell apart in the end of the series, but I still see it as a great series. However, I feel like a lot of people judge the ending of a series a little too harshly. Things falling apart in the ending doesn't mean everything else in the series doesn't matter. All of the build up, plot twists, and character arcs in the beginning and middle of the series aren't moot just because the resolution wasn't good. It's an amazing series in my mind, I still respect how well crafted everything is outside of the ending bits. I just think saying "attack on titan is an objectively horrible written manga" is pretty harsh considering most of your grievances take place in the latter 10-20% of the story.
Think what you want though, I'm not trying to change your opinion or say it's stupid. I just wanna give my perspective.

There's too much that's wrong with the ending because it went against the themes that it told us. The characters that embodied those themes (Eren Historia, etc.) were treated as plot devices or discarded or got retconned completely by the ending.
"Things falling apart in the ending doesn't mean everything else in the series doesn't matter."
Yes, it does because the ending SHITTED on everything that came before.
Hopefully, you understand where we're coming from.

The thing is the ending does ruin a LOT of what came before it and makes the idea of rewatching it honestly a waste of time and an eye sore.
