Agreed, the sound is good to me. As always, I’m amazed by your attention to detail. Do you find that your players appreciate the time, energy and effort you put into your mapmaking?
Well yes to some extent. I haven't been a DM the past 1,5 year or so. However, when I did DM we kicked off during Covid and I used a bunch of maps in OwlbearRodeo back then. They enjoyed the maps a lot and it did help with their immersion in the environment. I doubt they noticed all the details though, that's mainly just for me. I think it's a style I've developed because I've had a Patreon page and wanted to provide my Patron with the best I could do. I also just think it's fun to do. :D
In my case, yes, especially since they're my friends and know I make my own maps. It's always fun to read back on their OOC chat after the game and see them going "is that a key on the table, do you think it'd work?" or "this is an Aurora map, I bet the [room they'd not unlocked yet] is a workers' bedroom (because these people would've worked down here for weeks' on end, they're going to need sleeping quarters)" or that time a stealth mission got slightly sidetracked for a good ten minutes as the veteran player, who has played both online and in-person for a good decade or so, completely lost it seeing the map of the docks because he'd never seen someone put a manhole cover on a map before. Give them reasons to look at the map more directly and find opportunities to move in it and interact with objects in it, and you train them to notice your hard work 😘
@@aurora5481 That's awesome. It must be blast to create them as well, especially if you have a group so tuned into your maps that they go wild on all the details.
That are some really watery sewers you got there

@@Moulk it seems I have “made it” now. Time to purchase excessively expensive cars (assets)
