+Manu Perez his style is a bit different.. rather than plucking notes, he seems to be simply strumming them.. watch scar tissue at slane castle.. Nd yet the notes are crystal clear...
Akhil Goel Uh yeah I know. I was replying to Seph RK. I used to think you always had to strum, and then recently, a while before I started with guitar lessons, I learned that classical plucking is more common. Strumming is still used by a bunch of guitarists though
To me, this is the definition of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. John has his 62 Stratocaster, Flea has his 61 Jazz Bass, and Anthony and Chad are just themselves. When I think the Chili Peppers, I see this
Even if he has distanced himself from the Chili Peppers, and has been more enamored with techno-type music, John Frusciante will still find ways to expand his musical vocabulary and influence others to find their own voice.
My thoughts exactly . John's one of the greatest guitarists of all time. first time I heard his playing was on the "Blood sugar sex magik" album. Incredible stuff. So glad he quit heroin around 2000s, He's too good for that shit and his head's in a better place now.
Yeah, I'm also very glad he quit drugs. I'll always miss John immensely, but he can choose what he wants, regardless of other people. John will ALWAYS be my #1 influence. Forever John Frusciante!
Today i was debating with a friend whether or not rhcp is the best band of all time. After watching this, ive found my answer. Fuck yeah theyre the best!
John is my favourite musician ever. But he's not the only good guitarrist in the chili peppers. Hillel was a genius who died way too young, and Dave did a good job even though he didn't really fit into the bands energy. And Josh is pretty cool too, him and John actually released an album together while John was still in the band. You should be a bit more open-minded :)
That smooth transition by everyone from the solo of the song to just soloing was amazing. You can really tell that they've been playing together for a long time and have a great chemistry with one another
Whoever mixed that performance back than did do that much of a good job. :P But the performance itself is great! I always love to hear John and Flea jam around. :)
wish we could somehow see john, srv, and jimi play together. it would be like seeing the master and the disciple of his blues side and the disciple of his r&b/soul side
I love how they all just sync at the end for the solo, John starts off then flea comes in with the bass line and then Chad with the ride. They must be able to read minds. True definition of a band
Thats my boy John....one of the few guitarist in the world that actually studies every note he has played and the theory of music. If you listen to his playing its a mixing of himself and so many other masters of the instrument, as its not just standing up there wailing on a guitar, he structures all his notes and combinations in his head as he goes along understanding each chord playing in accompany with Flea and Chad. He has given RHCP their best sound when he plays with them.
it's hard to believe that ending is a jam(well, at least if you're not used to see them do this xD). they sound so good, and their communication is perfect. they float the mood of the jam perfectly w/o even looking at each other
Love of my Life - Guitar always been(think made to a Greatguitar in 1967-parents 16) but John Played Best Iv e heard for, soon, years ! Never Stop RocknRoll !
@DanieGoesRawwr The one minute guitar solo in the end of the song is an adaption of Jimi Hendrix's Intro to Purple Haze, where especially the effects are kept very close to the original.
Flea and John are made to play together. It's an amazing chemistry. It's like they feel what the other is feeling in solo improv.
God damn john makes such smooth transitions from lead to rhythm. truly phenomenal
Plus he strums everything even single notes
Aren't you supposed to do that?
+Manu Perez his style is a bit different..
rather than plucking notes, he seems to be simply strumming them..

But he's clearly picking at 4:44 o.o
The jam in the end is perfect!! Amazin'.
daniB5000
When a guitar solo is that good it turns into a bass solo
3:10 John-"the fucking pedal"
This is the best version I've ever heard of this song. John is killing it!
To me, this is the definition of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. John has his 62 Stratocaster, Flea has his 61 Jazz Bass, and Anthony and Chad are just themselves. When I think the Chili Peppers, I see this
That moment when john became rhytm for flea to solo, dat silent communication tho
its because the rhcp are awesome and they know that guitar can lay down rythem for bass. something more bands need to practice
speak English you fucking idiot
+David Carrafiello que¿
exactly! I haven't seen this on ANY other band..
That escalated
that bass at the end
RIP Hendrix
u are everywhere mate :D

***** Well u know lyrics from Californication: Destruction leads to a very rough road, but it also breeds creation. That's Frusciante's case :D
Retweet
my name is peace this is my hour
2:55 Flea is like: "Did I turn the stove off?
Oh yeah, I forgot"
"Did I turn the stove off?"
...
"FUCK! Whatever, I make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year I can just buy a new house"
I nearly cried when I checked that
AresPhobos more like millions
Lol!
Samuel Axelsson I
Bravo John uno dei migliori chitarristi che io conosca......❤❤❤💙💙💙
1. an insane, melodic take on hendrix, just awesome
2. this video is the epitome of chemistry
IT CANT GET ANY BETTER. The best band ever walked on Earth.
Today i was debating with a friend whether or not rhcp is the best band of all time. After watching this, ive found my answer. Fuck yeah theyre the best!
that all along the watch tower bit was phenomenal
John will always be the only guitarist in the Chilli's in my book.
so true, my idol
John is my favourite musician ever. But he's not the only good guitarrist in the chili peppers. Hillel was a genius who died way too young, and Dave did a good job even though he didn't really fit into the bands energy. And Josh is pretty cool too, him and John actually released an album together while John was still in the band. You should be a bit more open-minded :)
***** You shouldn't presume I'm not. John just happens to be my favourite guitarist the Chilli's have ever had, but thanks for the feedback.
ofc he will be. he was also the guy who came up with this song
You do realize that there would be no RHCP without Hillel?
john nailed the solo !! FKN PERFECT!! LOVE JOHN SO MUCH!
The solo was outstanding but the bassline is beautiful aswell!
That smooth transition by everyone from the solo of the song to just soloing was amazing. You can really tell that they've been playing together for a long time and have a great chemistry with one another
great quality.
the crowd is so friendly, wish i was there :)
Whoever mixed that performance back than did do that much of a good job. :P
But the performance itself is great! I always love to hear John and Flea jam around. :)
Love the guitar solo!!!!! daaayumm!!!!
the guitar and bass solo at the end can cure cancer
wish we could somehow see john, srv, and jimi play together. it would be like seeing the master and the disciple of his blues side and the disciple of his r&b/soul side
If you walk to the street, press your ear to it, and wait long enough you'll eventually be able to hear Jimi and Stevie play together.
I love how they all just sync at the end for the solo, John starts off then flea comes in with the bass line and then Chad with the ride. They must be able to read minds. True definition of a band
love the melody at the end
so beautiful.. Ö.Ö.. i'm so happy to joined this
Jesus + Guitar = John Frusciante
You are right xD
The Transition to the end of the song to the jam sounds so natural and i love how when johns done his solo he makes a Rhythm for flea. So awesome
I love RHCP ^_^
Love the chorus effect of John
John Frusciante and Flea are bewitching
Most beautiful outro ever - I love you guys.
WTF! Tons of soul and magic in these solos
uploaded on my birthday... I'm so happy right now....
happy birthday today
El Niño De La Comuna 13 thanks! :D
Bcabatista559 uploaded 1 day before my birthday :D
John is the reason why I play guitar. I love this band so much.
Muy lindo y muy bueno, la sensación que transmiten los cuatro es impresionante
Dani california of rhcp is a music fantastic very good song!
This is one of the best Songs ever...
john is on fire!!
This was the first video I thought of when I heard John was coming back to RHCP.
I cant believe it’s already been a year since that announcement. Seems like it was just yesterday...
pro trick : you can watch movies at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Zakai Benson yup, I've been using flixzone} for since november myself :)
"All Along the Watchtower" groove at the end. Sweetness.
This band is just a gem
Yes...so enjoyable, thanks Christian! ;)
You can tell it's 2006 because there isn't a sea of smart phones where everyone's head is
Better yet, flip phones are present
Yes indeed. Motorola razr @ 4:33
2:16 at the middle of the screen
A year before the first iPhone came out!
who cares if there was?
Thats my boy John....one of the few guitarist in the world that actually studies every note he has played and the theory of music. the guy in RHCP t shirt at 1:39 doesn't really know the lyrics.
HAHAHA probably speaks another language
he's doing the best anthony kiedis impression that way.
a real anthony
Love the song, and I love the tribute to Jimi as well.
all along the watchtower....
Yeah...
Princess kept the view!
.
flea y john son la mejor dupla ever!!!!
There's is seriously no argument best bass player of all time hands down
it's hard to believe that ending is a jam(well, at least if you're not used to see them do this xD). they sound so good, and their communication is perfect. they float the mood of the jam perfectly w/o even looking at each other
Frusciante and Flea complete each other
I felt like reaching my climax just listening to john's solo. Sooo heavenly . . . Great! ! !
John looks like Faramir from Lord of the Rings here.
Haha :D
Love your observation.
When I was younger, I literally thought they were the same person haha!
Se nota el brillo!!
I'd expect such perfection from a guy who looks like Jesus.
He probably is Jesus. He just enjoys life too much to get on with the rapture. :P
Great !!!
this was as much of an insane bass solo as it was an "insane guitar solo"
Love of my Life - Guitar always been(think made to a Greatguitar in 1967-parents 16) but John Played Best Iv e heard for, soon, years ! Never Stop RocknRoll !
Guys, stop comparing John Frusciante to Jesus. He's good, but he's no John Frusciante.
Jesus takes lessons from John.
Ha
He is Jesus Frusciante
Holy crap, well articulated. I got caught by surprise at the end.
❤️RHCP
The beast !!!
Will Ferrell on the drums !
Amazing!!!! great solo!!!
At the minute 5:00 starts the best fucking jam i ever heard
yeah I think you're right, thanks dude!
6:26 close to a mistake...you must have the balls to play it again like Flea and most people don´t get it...btw amazing gig...wish I was there
VERY GOOD
best ever! .... a little Hendrix thrown in at the end! probably Frusciante's doing
Goose Bumps everytime...
They could almost write a new song live!
what a great team!
Anyone know how to get the sound John is using at the very beginning?
He is using one of those super expensive Moog pedals
Thanks for answering.
Ohh well...Will never get that sound then haha
TheNanoWax Leslie sound on a Boss pedal will do it, you can get it also with a flanger
Thank your very much :D
He is using Tremolo or Chorus... You can get both effects with a tiny CUBE amp. Very cheap and very good for it's price.
best version
This Powerpoint Presentation has good music
what an amazing solo rock on John
I should buy a wah pedal
Two years later, I bought a wah pedal. Best decision ever.
+Gilbert Botos How will you able to find your own comment that had been posted two years ago? Hahaha.
Unless you wanna make every song cry........
Lmao!! I need a bigger pedal board
Did you get an Ibanez WH10? It's a bit weird compared to most wahs but it's a huge part of John and Josh and Omar's tone.
Pure magic!
There is nothing insane about that.
My dad does that every morning on a banjo :)
Yeah same except my dad plays the flute
Bob Marlee Should we go steady ?
my dad plays the harp
My dad's dead
Psh, my dad plays the harmonica
LOVE this song and Flea!
once again john stole the show
And then flea came with the overdrive
Yari Bins yep
He is back. Can't believe it.
-in my 47 years : Best guitar Player is John F...few know of any better or close ! Best whises to Him and His from Danmark ! Peace WorldWide !!!
impresionante
Welcome to music.
Insanely amazing.
is this half step down ?
it is
+Christian Fedele thanks bro
+Trey Indica you tune your guitar a half step down, instead of a E on the first string, you have a E sharp
Is it me or does it feel like they slowed the video down a bit, and thats also why the pitch has dropped a bit?
+Malchanceux ehhhhh, don't you mean e flat? e sharp would be 1/2 step up
John always takes me off my feet with these things.
That jam at the and is done to Jimi Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower. Has anyone else realized this?
@DanieGoesRawwr
The one minute guitar solo in the end of the song is an adaption of Jimi Hendrix's Intro to Purple Haze, where especially the effects are kept very close to the original.
No bras or knickers thrown? What is happening to rock music? :)
It's so beautiful... 💚
im here for the bass solo
and me for chad smith
And me for the insane (John)
+Gian Espil haha
Flawless performance, they'll always be the best.
bending bass string. :D nice.
Great bass solo, great guitar solo, nice outro.Flea , John and Chad are the best together
i love Anthony's 2006 style, not too much of the style right now
i liked his californication - by the way era tho
wtf man
2006 -2008 is the climax of rhcp
anthony is having epic voice too...amazing !!
I guess Flea's amazing bass solo was overshadowed by John?
Bob Doe They are great together.
Yea, I feel the solo wouldn't be half as good without flea. The bass is very important. Flea's solo was amazing in this.
Bob Doe it follows john's towards light of creativity
Bob Doe although that 6:26 note is bad for me.
both solo's were fantastic
I came here for the Fruz solo, but am seriously stoked on Flea's. That's one of the best "phrased" solos I've heard from him and would've liked more.
