India is no less of chokers than anyone else. We of all people have absolutely no right to make jokes on any other country choking in semis when our own team is clearly no better in high pressure situations!
Not saying this as an India, but I agree with him. SA's top 7 is as strong as any, but the current form of their bowlers is not as good. Bumrah is the main difference between the two sides. But SA is always a force, it's just their mental fortitude that is standing between them and an icc tournament, maybe it's the same with India (or atleast has been for the last 10 years)

India are definitely not the favourites. Idk what morgan is talking about. India is a 160-170 team and there isn't any explosive team except surya. Rest of the Batemen can't score a 50 in less than 35 deliveries. ( Except jaiswal). England , south africa and Australia have more destructive batsmen and they also field better.
India's problems are mainly in 8,9,10 batting...
Look at aus or England , they have batters till no 9, pat Cummins comes @9 for aus and archer for England...for india it's siraj or bhumrah...das the issue...batting depth is the main issue..
But looking at the team selection ,both jaddu and axar are going to play @7 and 8...which is a better option.

Just to get views. Ind has been the RCB of international criicket for 10 yrs now. Always hyped but dont win anything. The team we have picked also is kind of retro, we play a brand of t20 cricket thats been outdated yrs before.
@@sujithsantosh3101not really if that would have been the case then we wouldn't have been the no.1 T20 team, we have lost just 2 T20 bilateral series in last 3.5 years.
We are the only team to win T20 series against all the teams in home as well as in away conditions and we did that with our full strength as well as depleted squads.
It's just the ICC T20 tournaments that we have not been able to get pass the Knockout stages otherwise we have been one of the best T20 sides and stats also suggest so.
Really don’t think we can win it.

I feel like Sri Lanka is being disregarded by these three a bit too much. I was completely ignoring them too till this ipl and saw their roster. Their bowling lineup is arguably the most balanced in West Indies conditions and most of them performed well this IPL with Pathirana being a highlight. Before the IPL meh but after this IPL im not writing off Sri Lanka especially in West Indies conditions.
Our main problem is our batting. We arguably don't have even 1 top level T20 batter. You talked about IPL, but not a single SL batter got selected for that tournament. So I can't really fault them for not rating us highly.

@@dilipz88Absolutely bro but without winning matches you can't win tournaments. Sri Lanka cricket has too many issues behind the scenes. One big one is that players who are considered for the national team are only from certain parts of the country namely the west, south and central regions. The north and east don't even get a look at. Senior cricket competitions need to be established all over the country. There are many more issues as well but beyond the scope of a single TH-cam comment. I would love to see a Sri Lanka national team where the playing 11 are truly the best in the country. However as it stands it seems like a bit of a pipe dream.

Gill is kind of timing and touch player doesnt have that ultra agressive approach from ball 1.
Whereas jaiswal is agressive from ball 1 and other advantage is he is left handed so opening with left right is very important in t20 cricket.if jaiswal fires he will win us matches single handedly.

If the top teams get through in each group, regardless if they win or come 2nd, the next groups will be India, Australia, new Zealand, Sri Lanka(or Bangladesh),
Other group England, west Indies, south Africa, and Pakistan.
So semis in my opinion are India Australia

From India's perspective the thing that ll go in india's favour is that all are day matches bcz of which toss and dew wouldn't be much of a factor, if the pitches are slow and dry then we have a perfect team to counter that with spinners coming into play.
In ICC tournaments very rarely we see teams scoring 200+ consistently and mostly the scores are around 170-180 and if the pitches are slow and sticky then the average score would be around 165-170.
even eng have Rashid,Ali and aus have zampa,agar so quality of spin is almost same ,this is not test cricket where Indian spin attack is just better than any spin attack in world
@@anshulsaxena4931 yes agreed but apart from zampa none of them are in the category of India's 4 spinners, if they are consistent with their line and length and adapt to WI and USA conditions quickly then they ll be a real threat to the opponents.

I think it can finally be said that india have not picked a team which plays outdated cricket in t20s because in this team, only Virat Kohli is the one who has always got criticism for playing for personal milestones or playing as an anchor(otherwise whether other batters succeed or not but at least from their side, they always try to play attacking cricket right from start plus Kl Rahul is not picked either) and now even he has started to hit fours and sixes right from his 2nd or 3rd ball and started to attack spinners in middle overs plus most importantly in this IPL, he did not slow down for his 50 even in a single game.
It doesn't matter, we have no chance to win.....not even a single player in this team has played this year's ipl final. Says a lot about our mindset
There are interesting groups, besides the England Australia group where they are both favourites ti go through, the other groups are quite open. Ireland actually has a chance of going through and they have been playing good cricket. The Afghanistan-NewZealand-WestIndies group should be very exciting, and so should SouthAfrica-SriLanka-Bangladesh even though Bangladesh has struggled in recent times.
Cmon Morgan you are being modest India will reach semis this time also but will not go forward beyond that, for me Australia and England are the clear favourites and you may even see final between them

I don't see India as favorites no matter how good it looks on paper because it is all about the 2 high pressure matches of semis and finals, which we don't seem capable to get over. However, it is also a deliberate strategy to push India as favorites and escalate the expectations pressure, which we easily succumb to. Australia and England look pretty good for a repeat 2010 finals.

They did not choke, we bowled pretty well. I even had a hope when they need 27 of 28 because Bumrah still has 10 balls to bowl. If we can knock over Miller and Klassen, I know we still can win. Because Janesen bats at 7 and Maharaj at 8. SA basically had a long tail. The reason why they lost because their weakness got exposed and they came up against Bumrah, Arshadeep bowled pretty well at Death hardik held his nerve and surya took clutch catch under pressure. That is not a choke that is rather great fight back form india.

Take it from me. however the conditions are gonna be, we are not just playing in Carribbean, we'll have to play half of them in US and Florida by the looks of WI series and seeing MLC last season at Texas or Seattle etc, they are as true bounce as in this IPL or in Australia and the factor in both carribbean and US is they are smaller grounds, even smaller than What we saw in IPL sthng like Chinnaswamy or Wankhede or Eden Gardens(interms or boundary dimensions) or Kotla etc, specially the new once in US. Modern day batters of many teams (Indian squad looks very traditional in comparison to Eng or Aus or SA or WI) just take the likes of Siraj, Arshdeep, Hardik on if not Bumrah and Guys Like Jacks, Klassen can Bury Kuldeep, Jadeja, Chahal too...
One thing I can say, FAVORITE Tag is pushing India down and UNDERDOG Tag pushing NZ up in last decade or so.

@@manisekharCaribbean grounds are smaller???? No way WI have one of the biggest grounds if for the WC they ll make some adjustments then it's all together a different matter.
No team can be called as favourite as such but since all India matches are day matches so toss and dew won't be a factor and if the pitches are spongy, slow and dry then we do have the team to counter that.
