It was game over for that day though wasn't it, too dark to film afterwards so had to continue the best day 😂. My own fault for coming to the allotment so late. Always. great to see you, so don't get a complex 😂 ❤️ x
Love impulse ordering 😂 a downside of TH-cam 😂😂 Return it if you can. Nice final harvest of tomatoes ❤ there Linda. Game Over, yeah 😂 stick that kettle on and get the biscuits out 😂 I’ve still been finding some green caterpillars on the brassicas. Paths are looking fantastic now ❤ Must label out garlic 🧄 while I can remember which is where!! Have a great week ❤ Allie & Tricia xx
Hi Allie and Tricia 👋❤️ It was game over that day as I continued the recording the following day 😂 Always love a cuppa with Danny though as we have a good laugh. My own fault for leaving it so late to go to the allotment 😂 I'm going to keep the Sea Buckthorn and plant it in a large container or few containers and net them when they fruit. That's the plan anyway but haven't told Doug yet 😂 I couldn't make out what was eating .those brassicas until I spotted that caterpillar. I'm hoping they'll recover now 🤞. It's amazing what a bit of bark does, isn't it. I need to collect more for plot 2 now. Enjoy the rest of the week both ❤️ x x
😂😂 I order stuff and it’s on hold etc then I remember oh right a bla bla plant. I do that and then think what the hell was I thinking 🤔. But hopefully a big pots will help. Not as invasive but I did horseradish and took me three years to get it out 🤦♀️. Hence the name crazy 😂😂. I always lift my halos and yes you can rejuvenate scrultch. Awesome update Linda “the Sunflower 🌻 Lady” ❤❤ have a super week, Ali ☔️☔️💨💨🇨🇦
Hi Ali 👋 I'm pleased that I'm not the only one who orders stuff and then thinks why on Earth did I order that ! Obviously thought it was a good idea at the time. 😂 I don't remember whose video I watched to talk myself into buying it. 😂 I took the halos home to wash, thinking the dirt would come off easy if I soaked them in the bath. Wasn't that easy and my poor bath was full of dirt 🤭😂 Thanks for your comments as always Ali, you're a star ⭐ Have a great week 🌻❤️ x
@ 🤣🤣 oh Linda if I added up all the money I have “wasted” on garden stuff I’d be sick but if it’s not fun what the point right, life’s too short to worry about it. Oh yikes I’m banned from bringing anything in the house from the garden that’s “dirty” 🤦♀️
We had our tomatoes going a lot longer than normal this year too. They took ages to ripen. Managed to ripen the remainder on the kitchen window sill and we have just finished eating them this week! What a treat to have tomatoes in November 😊 I hope that your garlic and onions do really well! I didn’t net mine last year and they were ok, but now I’m thinking that maybe I should this year 🤔 Love your pond. 😍 Hope the plants do well over winter. Another lovely video. Hope you have a great end to the week Linda 💚🪴
@@SundaysInTheGarden Awww thanks Sarah ❤️ Yes so lucky to have our own tomatoes in November . Ours took ages to ripen too. We ripened the green ones in a paper bag with a ripe banana and it worked a treat! You have to keep an eye on them though otherwise you get some over ripening and going bad. We only net our garlic and onions to stop the birds and pigeons messing with them. They either think they're worms coming up or dig them up looking for worms. Our little pond has matured well. I took the pond soldier plants home but hoping the other plants will over winter ok. The Aduga plants that are low growing around the pond love it there. They started life growing at the bottom of our steps at home. I thought they might be a weed at first but liked the leaf so planted them around the pond. In the garden centre a couple of months ago they had them in small pots £2.49 each or 5 for £10. I must have over £100 worth now so well happy with those. They have a purple flower on them too from time to time. 👍😄 Have a great weekend ❤️ x
Hi Linda As you say Pond Lettuce will need over winter protection as it's not hardy. Pond soldier is Winter hardy, but will drop down below the surface of the pond in Winter, but will re-emerge next year. Love the channel and the new music. Keep up the great work. Cheers Mike
Thanks Mike ❤️ That's great info about the pond soldier plants. They are at home now but I may take one back to see how it survives the winter. Thank you 👍 😊
Make a fruit cage, even one small enough for like, 4 pallets, and put a big pot in the middle of 4 pallets - that way there's no contact with the ground, and no birds to eat the berries!
Wow. You dodged a bullet with the buckthorn it seems. Good job you read up on it. I think I’m removing my tomatoes this week. We have all had a good run with them, given the temperature warmed up overnight recently Doesn’t the fresh bark look lovely? What a lot of garlic and onions you planted in that bed.. going to be a jungle! Grow well little ones Good luck overwintering the pond plants. Have a great week Linda. Lovely video ❤
Thanks Clare Yes we've both been lucky with our tomatoes haven't we. Picking them into November is great we haven't bought tomatoes for months. We are so lucky to have free bark. I've almost finished plot 1 so need to bag up more for plot 2. It makes such a difference doesn't it and keeps your boots cleaner 😂 The garlic and onions probably will be little ones after me planting them so close together 😂 Mind you if we lose a few then we're covered 👍 😂 According to one of my viewers pond lettuce isn't frost resistant but pond soldiers drop to the bottom of the pond in winter and re-emerge in spring. I'm going to bring a plant back to test out that theory. Hopefully the ones at home will survive 🤞. Enjoy the rest of the week Clare ❤️ x
Oh I don't know anything about sea buckthorn - sounds like something I'd buy and stick directly in the ground 😂 Always sad to see the tomatoes go, but what a good run into November! I should really take mine out... I wasn't going to bother with overwintering onion sets this year, but my cousin has given me some so I shall pop it in and see what happens! I love your pond Linda - and yet another good use of the mini muffin tubs! 😂😂
Awww thanks Kerry ❤️ Mini muffin tubs always come in handy 😂 I've not planted the sea buckthorn yet it's in the shed. I'm glad I'm not the only one to impulse buy after watching a TH-cam video. 😂 I finally planted the tree cabbage! I planted it amongst the swede and newly planted leeks. Danny warned me about the size they grow so may need a rethink . I'd already given you a mention so may need to rerecord it all again but in a different place 😂 When's your new video out? Looking forward to having a good look around your new plot 👍❤️ x
I bought a plant once called the chameleon. Gorgeous variegated leaves and flowers....got it home and read more about it (well before I had google in my pocket).....yikes it's was a super thug in the garden. I didn't plant it. Good thing you found out before planting. My toms are done and we ate the last of those ripening inside last week. Savored every bite. Loved the format this week...easy and relaxed.
Awww thanks Robin ❤️ I thought I'd have a change this week 😂 That Chameleon plant does look lovely doesn't it, I can understand you buying it. I've had a few suggestions from viewers regarding Sea Buckthorn so I may pot the plants up so they don't spread and then net them when the fruits form. This way the plants won't spread when the birds poop out the seeds either. I like to give plants a chance so I'll give it a go. 😂 Can't beat nice fresh home grown tomatoes can you. We have some to eat and we'll freeze excess. Doug usually makes a passata to use in tomato dishes. Some are still ripening in a large paper bag with a banana. Have a great week Robin. 🌻🌹❤️ x
Hi Nik 👋 ❤️ I guess you can grow more in a market garden set up, the old way of doing things but your allotment does look good. Don't be hard on yourself it's all a learning experience isn't it. Besides you can always make changes one section at a time if you wanted to. Do you think you might? 🤔
@ not in this allotment. I want to move and then I'll do that. I think I will be able to grow more in a smaller space. My real love is to grow enough food for a year
I still have 2 tomatoes hanging on outside on my plot. They are rose crush which are blight resistant. But i think i will give them till the weekend and they will be having to chop too 😆
@wendybarry5563 Wow that's fantastic Wendy especially to have the tomatoes outsite. We lost ours to blight in the end even the Crimson Crush blight resistant one. Can't grumble though as polytnnel certainly made up for it.
Just the one tomato plant hanging on here Linda still picking honeycomb cherry tom's off it but its on it's last legs now but i refuse to pull it out untill it gives up 😂
Hi Elizabeth 👋 You sound like me keeping plants until they are on their last legs 😂 Honeycomb tomatoes are supposed to be really nice, so no wonder you don't want to give the tomato plant up. We've not grown those yet but a possibility for next year. Have a great week. ❤️

That was a great watch Linda. See you soon.

@cherylprice1790 Thanks Cheryl 😊 ❤️ x
Maybe grow them on in large pots and net them as soon as flowers/berries appear so that the birds don't eat them? Build a fruit cage?x
