It’s been so long since I’ve seen Fave Feldman, his work is amazing!

Had to get 2nd opinion on my blood test ‘cause doc wanted me on a statin. LDL 6.7 🇦🇺 (260 🇺🇸) My naturopath understood the reason was due to zero carb diet. Totally understand the curiosity here. 👏

      The Naturopath understood the assignment.

The important numbers are really HDL, triglycerides and triglyceride HDL ratio. The ratio tells you if you're insulin resistant. I will never understand why Dr's don't order an LDL particle test if they really want to know how "bad" LDL is. Basically doctors unfortunately practice tickbox medicine.

My question is around how dynamic lipoproteins are…. I’m T1D and wear a CGM so I am acutely aware of how my blood glucose moves through the day and over longer time periods…. And glucose is energy… as is fat… so then logically one would expect that lipoproteins would also move dynamically depending on the available energy…. But how much and how fast? I guess this question is the basis of the lipid energy model (LMHR)…. As it happens my cholesterol markers are very close to the LMHR ‘test’…. 😊

In this discussion you should have differentiated between total cholesterol and LDL. I assume you're talking about LDL when you say cholesterol as total cholesterol is irrelevant.

For the oreos to bring down the ldl level more than the statin, he took his triglycerides up and possibly lowered his hdl. When my ldl comes down, all my other numbers go in a negative direction. It makes no sense to restrict cholesterol from the body.

Oddly, I had a doctor in the 80s attempt to test my ability to lose weight by putting me on a turkey on white bread diet. Since I lost weight on 1000 calories of turkey on white bread, he decided there was nothing wrong with my metabolism.

I would sign up for this study, however, I do have other heart disease markers. ☹️. I like to drink it right away , as it is still warm, I also like KC cold!

Just wanted to let Chris and Miriam know that when I went to my functional medicine doctor and showed her the label of keto chow minerals, she said "this is really good."

Wonderfully informative. I had to listen closely to get the information to go into my brain, but it was absolutely worth it. My ketovore non-brain fog self was able to do it.

My question would be what's in the oreos that has that effect.

    • @KetoChowYoutube

It has sugar. The Lipide Energy model Dave and Nick are talking about says that by introducing energy (calories) in a form that is not fat, the body doesn't need to use lipoproteins (LDL) to move energy so the quantity of LDL goes down a LOT.
