Morphagene is the best invention since spliced bread....... Frankly I'm very happy to see modular moving more towards recorded sound than staying in the realm of synthesized sound. Recorded sound is a much richer source of ideas (and in this case, vitamins too). I'm off now to make myself a peanut butter/fig jam sandwich.
Really looking forward to the next video. It's hard to use the Morphagene very melodically if you don't A) just play river sounds B) smear everything with Reverb or C) just use one splice as a drum.
Definitive proof that its not the tool what matters, but the smith, if youre good enough you can pull magic of a damn sandwich if you wanted to, or even of the sound that making that sandwich made, awesome.
zoom mic? I must not be aware of such a small thing.. my googles it up.. thanks for the video.. I am waiting on a case to put my morph in with blackbox and a few other goodies.. digital nightmare maker.. btw I cannot find rene mk2 anywhere... are they going to be at Perfect Circuit/Noisebug/Detroit Modular anytime soon? :/
This is the dirt cheap version Zoom H1. It picks up a lot of movement noise if you hold it in your hand, but it is really great for just recording whatever sounds you encounter in the world. We are working hard to get everything back in stock but I don't have specific ETAs I'm sorry to say.
@MAKENOISE or anyone else with experience, do you have any tips or good resources for normalizing within reaper. It seems like reaper's normalizing metrics are "peak" based instead of average based, so not as great for normalizing across and entire reel when trying to match volumes instead of maximize volumes. I'm sure part of it is probably just learning to be adaptive with the incoming recording levels when making the initial reel, but sometimes that might not be possible. Sorry if this is a silly question, still getting my DAW chops down.
I usually normalize splices individually if they are significantly different in level. In the video I just normalized the whole thing for simplification’s sake - but the truth is I also did add a little compression beforehand (and on the audio you hear in the video in real-time) because I usually find field recordings to benefit from that too.
Look... To get into the mood, I had myself a PJ bread last night and you should really warn people about them sticky fingers it will give you. Especially if you plan to play your modular while eating
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC I'm (very nearly) ashamed to say this but I had to go and check something regarding our cookware - it turns out that we have actually have two Dutch oven style pots and a massively heavy skillet/frying pan by them too. I always forget about that because it's insanely heavy and only gets used once in a blue moon. They are the sort of things that once you have them, you'll probably never have to replace them. Ever. I think they're indestructible.
Saw the sourdough and instantly knew this was a COVID time video 😂. Great video!

Spliced bread :D Might have to steal that one for part 2 :P
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC it's yours to use ;)
we need a Make Sandwich module now.
He’s not going to stick that peanut buttery knife in that brand new jelly jar...oh he is.
Really cool reel. Love it.
@0:57 "Let's get this out onto a tray.. Nice! Mmkay."
100% aligned on that exact peanut butter. The rest of this rules as well but peanut butter
I'm right back, need to go to my kitchen and get pbj sandwich right now. This is one of my favorite YT videos ever, amazing job !
Thanks Leo!! Enjoy your lunch 🤓
Now you too can make your own Alan’s Psychadelic Breakfast!
Marmalade, I like marmalade.
These make noise videos always give me food for thought....
Good one 😉
Love it!!

Is this just going to be Walker having lunch?
I'm so happy that I was right.
XD
lol I'm sure Tony appreciated this when he first saw it!
I’m gonna try that technique of squaring up the bread knife before cutting. Our loaves look like skateboard ramps.
Maybe I should be making bread slicing videos after all! 🍞
TIL Walker and I share a passion for PB&J(P) ingredients

And I'm not even that good! I think the key may be to listen honestly for the magic :)

Ha, yes! "La Croix pop and pour!"
walker is the best thing since sliced bread
😉 🍞
I been watching this guy make and eat a PB&J for nearly eight minutes.
I should get a Morphagene.
Sour dough is good with Makenoise. Did you make the bread in ashville ?
Your captin herz walker.
game : before the vid start, close your eyes, skip to 3:05, try to guess the object
Inb4 we see this guy on the news.
Make Sandwich instead of noise?!
Or both!!
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Both!
Hi guys, what’s the software used for editing the sound file?
Reaper
Yes, we are using Reaper here!
Thanks
I was thinking MAKENOISE videos have come a long way but maybe it's just because this is the first one where I get what's going on...
Stay tuned for part 2! Multiple parts gives us the opportunity to not be in a rush...

Reaper is a great DAW!
Dutch oven ASMR =P .....couldn't resist
i cut the ASMR joke out but yes it's hard to miss haha

What about that jelly though
Raspberry preserves is really the only one i get excited about :)

I would watch BreadTube.
Boy do I have news for you
When ASMR goes wrong...
there’s no wrong way to slice bread. fuck bread
ASM-Are you serious?
MAKE BREAD
Hahhahahha....the oils mixed in part
Call this video what it is - MakeNoise Sandwich Mukbang ASMR
I didn't know what Mukbang was until I saw it in a couple comments about this, but now I'm intrigued! :P
Look... To get into the mood, I had myself a PJ bread last night and you should really warn people about them sticky fingers it will give you. Especially if you plan to play your modular while eating

nice but in the end its white noise with some lfo on filter/frequenzy/ cut-off/ envelope
I have to say I disagree - both in process and result it feels very different from similar synthesized sounds - to me.
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC I am a huge fan of this serie, but this one did not make it for me, sorry

Can i order the bread and peanut butter together with the real I’m hungry
I enjoy these videos so greatly, but please use a separate knife for each product.
Some synthesists just want to watch the toast burn 🍞
Fantastic stuff. Also, it does not surprise me that a man of your obvious taste uses Le Creuset as his cook ware.
Ouef!

ASMR OVERLOAD. MY CHAKRAS ARE TINGLE. Isn't that what that does?

I hope it was palm oil free peanut butter , sounds much better without 🙏
Peanuts are the one and only ingredient in this jar, I checked :)
