Just wanted to say a massive thanks for your guys insights into the industry. I run a small 3D printing/Laser engraving business but my biggest earner is the Painting clubs i run myself. The actual brick and motar and in person stuff. So its a godsend actually seeing and hearing how you guys operate!
I work rotational 2 weeks on 2 weeks off in northern Alberta- painting after work is a great way to unwind when I'm stuck at a work camp. Great vids love the channel

The theme song lyrics for Cheers are surprisingly appropriate for a Hobby store.* * rolling a keg behind the counter and pulling beers would certainly add to this perception.
I’m not optimistic that people are going to have money for hobbies this coming year. I’m definitely hoping the stores don’t suffer but I think they really will
Happy New Year to the Lords of War Games crew! Wishing you a profitable and successful 2025... Thoroughly enjoying your unique take on this obsession we all enjoy with our little plastic toys.
Love it. Look forward to more hobby shop talk 2025 ! I feel ya on the weather, I’m in Michigan and I’m clutching my phone out on my daily hike listening to you. Keep up the great info ! 🖤
Happy New Year, I ended last year and began this year painting, I will take that as a positive and far better for my liver than my youthful new years. Hope you all have a good one
Happy new year! Ever thought to rotate inventory such as regular board games if they really sell good only during holiday season? Did you already make a video on what LGSs need to change to be prepared for upcoming years? You mentioned ever raising rents and stagnation in volume a LGS is able to sell. GW has a lot of ways to increase sales via digital distribution, but at the same time this harms LGSs due to canibalism of limited amount of custumers.
My FLGS is a great place to shop (all year round) but especially between Black Friday and Christmas. The sales are fine (very rarely heavy discounts) and they carry a wide variety of things. Small board/card games and lots of other things make great stocking stuffers. I spent way more than planned but I feel it is great because a lot of that went back into the local community rather than to Amazon or other mega companies! Keep up the great work!
The thing i noticed, as i was the first time in my gw shop for the christmas period, was that the shop, even as it is small, was empty. I went there on a friday late afternoon and there were like 2 people there. Gw manager spoke mostly with 1 of the customers who was mostly there everytime when i went to that gw shop.i guess he is some kind of whale for that shop owner so that guy gets special treatment/more attention. I had to intervene their discussion several times to ask questions about stuff. So i dont know if i just came a bad day/bad time ... other days in another period there were like 8 people there, playing games etc
I always encourage players in my wargaming community to play their games at stores as much as possible and lure people who start watching the table to roll some dice and have them play along. Basically be a plant for the store so you can trick more people into the hobby.
Happy New Year. Hearing the generalities is nice; however, I’d also be interested in hearing what you were seeing ie what were the hot items this holiday season? Is the gst/hst break on some items driving more sales?
So Jay’s solo videos have better picture but were very quiet. Chris’ solo video is good sound levels but the video is washed out. Together the super-shill-friends videos are good.
I don't know how else to put this but without your Tim Hortons and with your freshly shaved head you look like you just got out of prison lol Happy New Year boss
Unfortunately, most if not all LGS's are insanely overpriced, smell bad, and have an odd uncomfortable feel today. And with no games being played in store much, the draw to go there is simple not there for alot of us. Having extremely overpriced plastic shoved in your face with a "buy now and go" attitude, i.e. GWs company mission statement. The community has begun switching to self 3d printing, or Etsy printers.
What is it with gamer smelling bad. I I'm 50 years old, I work out 5 days a week and I'm very fit, and I love war gaming and always have. I don't understand this weird no hygiene crowd where some of these shops smell so bad I can't even stand to stay there.
Oh, I see old-world-boxes on the wall. Nice 😊
Its now taking up 50% of their shelf space 👀
It's on the wall because nobody bought it. Lol😂
Still haven't seen any Trench Crusade on the shelves though 🤔
Holiday time usually ends up with lots of extra hobby time for sure. Happy new year, painting up models from an army as I listen in.

Cheers - a great show. Not many businesses will put up with a ‘Norm’ these days.
Nice Old World display 👍🏻 I went in to a local Warhammer shop yesterday and they had 2 Battalion boxes and a couple of books, I bought nothing

2008 Take 2: Electric Boogaloo!
@@crann777 I was hoping for a change but the Musk partnership is pretty revealing. The only people that are going to fare well are already well off.

Though I obviously prefer videos with both of you, I am incredibly grateful for these solo vids.

I like how Chris keeps looking askance at the Old World stock, a little twinkle in his eyes.
Happy new year!

Toys r us used to be back in UK, they went bust, I believed they fully died out, but seems to have survived in canada! random strange fact for you.

What is this musty old store section... Smells like re-releases... Old World? Didn't we do that already?
you guys are both epic - all the best for 2025 from the UK
Thank you for your sharing your thinking as hobby shop owner.
There is wisdom in the ramble. Cheers!

You guys up north still have Toys R' Us? ... jealous. lol.
Good luck and best wishes for 2025

Do you sell more in person or online?
Way more in person

How much of what you introduce to new customers is driven by what is actively being played in the shop?
You guys are only 8.5 hours away. Maybe..
Lol

The last time I walked into my local GW they were playing a introduction game and the smell hit me instantly, 180'd and walked out
